“ I loved your story. So much better than the submissions we got for the competition. I want to buy it and publish it for everyone to read. I'll make you as famous as John de Plume „
~ Piniet sweetalking King into signing his deal

Piniet is a one-shot antagonist in Disney Channel animated series The Owl House, serving as the main antagonist of Season 1 episode "Sense and Insensitivity". He is a sly and manipulative book publisher who force others to write books for him, especially to King who wrote Ruler's Reach which he liked.

He is voiced by Andre Sogliuzzo.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He is a charming and impeccably polite publisher that convinced dozens of writers to sign contracts to write stories for him in literal crunch-times and as a result, ended up making millions.
  • Upon seeing King's work, he took advantage of King's pride to have him sign a contract to write stories for him.
  • When he read King's sequel and realized King is dependent on Luz Noceda's writing, he tossed her to the writer's block knowing King will come to save her, before trapping King in the box as well and forcing them to write the sequel.
  • When Tinella Nosa came up to King and proved herself to be an even better author, Piniet moved onto her and lets him and Luz go without any extra trouble, becoming a karma houdini, a feat nearly no villain in the shown manages to achieve.
  • Unlike most other The Owl House villains, who for all their planning have huge slip-ups or many other disqualifying traits, Piniet for all his arrogance, never has an actual failing aside from a mini-episode of irritation of King and Luz escaping which he quickly gets over by letting them go.
  • While his crimes are horrific on paper, they are all filled with absurdly hilarious and fun writer's puns that downplay the weight of his actions and they don't come across as dark as the show could actually get, such as with the acts of Emperor Belos, so he isn't too vile.

What Makes Him A Baddie?[]

  • In order to make the writers write the books, he trapped them in a shrinking box, and if the writers failed to write a book during the crunch-time, he crushed them into still alive cubes that he keeps on his suitcase.
  • He kidnapped Luz in order to lure King to the shrinking box, before trapping them in the shrinking box to force them to write Ruler's Reach 2.
  • When Luz and King escaped from his trap, he attempted to murder them both, stepping on one of the cubed writers before doing so.
