Cassim is the central protagonist of Aladdin and the King of Thieves. He is the father of Aladdin, who became the leader of Forty Thieves in order to find the Hand of Midas in order to give his family a good and comfortable life.

He was the leader of Forty Thieves. Who was looking for an Oracle, with the help of which he would find the Hand of Midas in order to provide for his family.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He has a tragic backstory. His family lived in poverty and he decided to go for wealth in order to provide for his family.
  • Ordered Sa'Luk and the other bandits to hide so they wouldn't be discovered.
  • With the help of Sa'Luk and other rogues, he distracted the guard while he searched for the Oracle. This plan almost succeeds.
  • When he learned that Aladdin was his son, he accepted him, preventing Sa'Luk from killing Aladdin.
  • After Aladdin threw Sa'Luk into the sea, Cassim accepted him as one of the thieves.
  • Has standards against killing innocents, unlike Sa'Luk
  • He truly loved his wife. Which proves the moment when he said that he was ready for anything, just to get her back.
  • Although it was not his idea, he agreed with Iago that he should take advantage of his son and Jasmine's wedding to steal the Oracle. This also shows that even thought he is a thief, he doesn’t always thinks of money or treasure first.
  • When Cassim realized that he could not resist the guards, he threw down his sword and decided to surrender.
  • While Aladdin was distracting the guards, Cassim was able to steal the Oracle.
  • Take care of the rest of the thieves. Saying that they are his family and that he will give them his share.
  • Overall, he is one of the least evil villains in the franchise.
  • He ordered Iago to go to Agrabah to warn Aladdin
  • Gave revenge on Sa'Luk by throwing the Hand of Midas to him.
  • Refused the Hand of Midas, calling Aladdin his true treasure.
  • After watching Aladdin’s wedding he allows Iago to join him on his adventures.
