Kamantis (カマンティス, Kamantisu) is an Insect Chemy based on a mantis.
History[]
Kamantis was part of a small group of Chemies summoned by Fuga to escape from the Three Dark Sisters, it was seen fighting alongside Raidenji against Atropos, Kamantis' card was left in the Ouroboros Realm while Hopper1 and Steamliner went into the human world to find the person chosen by fate.
Kamantis was eventually unsealed from its Ride Chemy Card and went into the city randomly attacking. It was next seen at a baseball stadium sharpening its scythe blade arms and was found by Clotho who absorbed Kamantis into her to become the Mantis Malgam to attack Houtarou and Rinne. After the battle between Kamen Rider Gotchard and the Mantis Malgam, Houtarou resealed Kamantis into a Ride Chemy Card.[Gotcha! Hopper1!]
As Houtarou enters the Alchemist Academy, Minato uses the Kamantis Card as a part of Houtarou entrance exam, with the young man’s task being to balance Kamantis’s weight with its Gotchanko card, Odorippa. When Kamantis is weighed, it is shown to be lighter than Odorippa.
During Houtarou’s battle with Skateboard Malgam, Kamantis is later used by Houtarou along with Odorippa to access Gotchard Odorimantis Wild. In the end, Houtarou passed the exam by asking Kamantis to eat a lot more, resulting in Kamantis gaining a fatter appearance.
Kamantis is later borrowed by Renge during Houtarou first day as an Alchemist Academy student. In return, Renge herself lending Energyl and Sasukemaru to Houtarou, so that the latter can befriend more Chemy. Renge proposed borrowing Kamantis to ease her and Sabimaru’s job in capturing more loose Chemy in a temporary trade for Sasukemaru and Energyl. Ultimately, thanks to the help of Kamantis, Renge and Sabimaru managed to capture Bulletbaang, Gengenchoucho, Hiikescue, Bakuonzemi, Doctorkozo and Flayrose. Thus Kamantis is returned back to Houtarou, and both Energyl and Sasukemaru is returned back to Renge.

Etymology[]
- Kamantis's name is a portmanteau of the words sickle (鎌, Kama) and Mantis.
Notes[]
- While Kamantis is bipedal, unlike a real praying mantis, it has four arms that give it six limbs like the real insect, though in reality, only the front two are raptorial; the second set of legs is more like the rear-most back pair, and is used for standing and walking instead of actively hunting.
