Altering

This article is about a transformation device in Kamen Rider Agito.

The Triple Flash Transformation Belt Altering (トリプルフラッシュ 変身ベルト オルタリング, Toripuru Furasshu Henshin Beruto Orutaringu) is the transformation device of Kamen Rider Agito.

Overview[]

The Altering is a mysterious belt bestowed upon Shoichi Tsugami by Prometh. The orb in the center of the belt is called the Philosopher's Stone (賢者の石, Kenja no Ishi)^[1] and it holds the Seed of Agito, the source of Agito's power.

As he grows in strength, he would unlock its full powers. To either side of the Philosopher's Stone are the Dragon's Eye (ドラゴンズア��, Doragonzu Ai), which allow access to either Storm Form or Flame Form. Pressing the switch on the right side of the belt accesses Flame Form while pressing the switch on the left accesses Storm Form. To access Trinity Form, the user either presses both switches simultaneously while in Ground Form, or presses the switch opposite of whichever of the Dragon's Eye forms he is in. When accessing Burning and Shining Form, the Dragon's Nail (ドラゴンズネイル, Doragonzu Neiru) forms over the belt to protect the Philosopher's Stone.

Only the one who is blessed by Prometh and can survive the painful progress of the manifestation has the ability to unleash the power of Altering.

Raise Buckle[]

Altering Buckle (オルタリングバックル, Oruta Ringu Bakkuru): Allows any of the Geats Riders to access Agito Form. It is based on Kamen Rider Agito and his transformation belt, the Altering.^[2]

Notes[]

• The Altering's name is a joining of the words "alter" and "ring".
• The CSM version of the Altering was released on September 2021.^[3][4][5]. Unlike the DX version, functions of the CSM version are much more faithful to its television counterpart as it contains motion sensors to indicate transformation as opposed to a button, a technological advancement that was first used in a prototype driver displayed at the Complete Selection Modification#The Henshin event in 2019.
• The Altering is the very last belt to be used by a Main Rider that was based on the Ishinomori-style belt design, being replaced with the Rider System (in the form of V Buckle) in Kamen Rider Ryuki. This style of belt would make still occasional appearances in the form of other Riders that are based on the Showa era. Most recently, Kamen Rider Century had a similar design belt as well in commemoration of the franchise's 50th anniversary, while Kamen Riders Black Sun and Shadowmoon also have similarly looking Drivers.
