An expansion of an innate domain using only cursed energy.
An individual is born with an innate domain which exists as a metaphysical space that reflects their mind and soul. Innate domains can only be physically constructed or "expanded" using the most supreme technique in all of jujutsu, Domain Expansion. This technique uses a barrier to create a separate space where the innate domain is constructed by cursed energy and imbued with the user's innate technique.
Sukuna's mind resides within his innate domain when Yuji Itadori is in control of the vessel. When they were both there at the same time, Sukuna described it as if they were standing within his soul.[2]
Domains expanded using only cursed energy in an enclosed space without a proper barrier are considered incomplete. This is because they don't include a barrier with the user's cursed technique imbued into it.[3] Finger Bearers, cursed spirits that possess high cursed energy without proper cursed techniques, involuntarily generate these types of domains around them.[4][5]

A true domain expansion imbues the user's cursed technique across the barrier, which guarantees that all attacks deployed within the domain will hit.[3] Due to the absurd level of cursed energy consumption, it is regarded as impossible to continuously expand an innate domain empowered with a cursed technique over a long period of time.[6]
