C4C55 Water Pump

Hello Everyone!!!  It's school holiday time here in Australia and the chaos has already begun!!  To top it off our beautiful Spring has gone and been replaced by cold weather and grey skies!  :(  So to make up for this lack of sunshine, I've decided to use this week's Crazy for Challenges sketch and ODBD image to make a bright, happy card!

I started with a base of Kiwi Kiss and layered with yellow bazzill and some Basic Grey DP from my stash.  The Basic Grey was cut into 3 panels - around the bottom I've attached some green ric rac and around the middle one I've added some ivory satin ribbon.  The water pump image is from ODBD's Never Thirst set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (E31, E33, E35, E37, C1, C3, C5, YG13, YG17, Y35, Y38, BG0000, 0).  It was cut out with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with dark green cut with Large Circle Nestabilites and popped up on top of some Very Vanilla cut with Lattice Pendant Spellbinders.  To finish I added a big ivory bow to the ribbon and Blush pearls to the top corner.

Stamps - Never Thirst (ODBD)
Paper - Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla, Yellow and Dark Green Bazzill, Basic Grey Lily Kate DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, Lattice Pendant Spellbinders, Bow Easy, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Dark Green Ric Rac, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Bright and Fun

Hello Everyone!  Today's card is one I made for a friend's birthday - she loves these little CC Designs girls and lot's of bright colours, so I hope she likes this one!  :)  This also qualifies for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to use lattice!!

I started with a base of Kiwi Kiss and layered with white and some Echo Park DP.  Across the middle is more Kiwi Kiss that's been punched with the embossed curve punch and layered with more Echo Park DP.  On the DP I've stamped the sentiment using JustRite's Birthday Centres Round set and the matching 1 5/8" Clear Stamper which made is super easy to line up!!  I stamped my CC Designs girl in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (E000, E01, R20, G20, G21, G24, E33, E35, E08, E13, E17, V01, V04, 0)....my friend is a dark redhead, so I tried to do the same for my image.....I think I need more practice with redheads!!!!  :)  I cut her out and popped her up on foam tape of a layer of embossed white and light purple.

Stamps - Rosalie and Roses (CC Designs), Birthday Centres Round (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Kiwi Kiss, White, Purple Bazzill, Echo Park DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Large Oval and Big Scallop Oval Nestabilities, Single Embossed Curve Punch, Swiss Dots EF, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Christmas Poinsettia

The weather has not been kind this week - it's been cold, grey and horrid.....but then it is the middle of Winter for us here in Australia.  Just when I thought there was no hope at all for the week, the postman delivered my brand new Christmas goodies from JustRite!!!  WOOHOO!!!!!  Not only were there stamps, but the new JustRite Idea Book and Catalog arrived too!!  I tell you, it was like a bit of sunshine to brighten my otherwise very dull world!!!!  :)  Of course I couldn't wait to ink some new goodies up, so I've used Hearts Come Home set for the front (don't you just LOVE this poinsettia!!!!) and the Holiday Cheer set for the inside.  So.....why did I decide to decorate the front and inside of this card......the JustRite Challenge this week is to put a sentiment on the outside and inside of your card this week!!!!  :)  The card also qualifies for the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge this week to use at least 2 ribbons on your card!

I started with a base of red bazzill and layered with white (pierced) and then some Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly DSP.  Another piece of red punched with the MS Loop punch and topped with more Cosmo Cricket made up the next layer.  Over the top of this I added some yummy white crochet ribbon and topped with some clear organdy which was knotted on one side.  Next I stamped the Poinsettia and border from Hearts Come Home from JustRite onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R46, R59, G21, G16, W1) and used my gold Spica pen to add some gold sparkle to the centre of the poinsettia and also to the border around it.  I also coloured in the main border which says 'Merry Christmas' using a R46 Copic Marker.  I then cut it out with square nestabilities and matted it with the matching scallop and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish the front I added two Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the corner.

For the inside I attached a layer of white and then added a panel made up of more Cosmo Cricket DSP and red bazzill punched with the MS Loop punch.  The sentiment inside is from the JustRite set called Holiday Cheer which is the small 1 3/16th size - very cute!!!  I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R46, G21, G16) and once again used the gold Spica for the ribbon.

Stamps - Hearts Come Home, Holiday Cheer (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Red Bazzill, White, Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Square, Scallop Square, Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Loop Border Punch, White Crochet Ribbon, White Organdy Ribbon, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls.

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!!!  :)

ANZAC Day...

Today is ANZAC Day in Australia, a poignant day when we remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country.  Yesterday when I saw the challenges for Crazy 4 Challenges to case one of their designers and Our Creative Corner's challenge to use blossoms I knew exactly what I was going to do.  I cased Silke Kittmann's beautiful card and the blossom I chose is the poppy - the symbol used on ANZAC Day.

I used the poppy from JustRite's Plant a Little Love set and coloured it with Copics (R22, R27, YG11, YG63, YG67, E29) and cut it out and popped it up.  I made the sentiment using the Trompe Uppercase and Trompe Lowercase Font sets.  I did use the same large scallop punch that Silke did - unfortunately you can't see it in this photograph.

Stamps - Plant a Little Love, Trompe Uppercase, Trompe Lowercase Font Sets (JustRite)
Paper - Black and Green Bazzill, White, X-press It Blending Card, Kaisercraft DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, Blossom Nestabilities, EK Success Embossed Curve Border Punch, Copics, 1" Red Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Silver Cord, White Button, Scissors, Foam Tape.

Like most Australians we will be watching the ANZAC Day marches, honouring those who returned and remembering those who lost their lives.  Our family was very fortunate, my grandfather and my grandmother's two brothers all saw combat overseas during WW2 and returned home.  My uncle went to Vietnam and also returned home.  Not everyone was so lucky.  On ANZAC Day about 20yrs ago my mother showed me some old newspaper cuttings, the story of a young man who was like a brother to her.  On 7 June 1971, 2nd Lieutenant Ian Mathers aged 22yrs, died in combat in Vietnam.  About the same time, my Mum found out she was pregnant with her first child - me.  I still remember the look of sadness on her face as she showed me those clippings about this young man who was going to be a doctor.  She wanted me know a bit about him, so that on ANZAC Day someone else would remember him.  Every ANZAC Day since then, as I remember all those who died, I especially remember Ian Mathers, someone I never knew, but whom my mother loved so much.

Peonies and Kindness

Today I decided to make a card for three different challenges - the first is the Featured Stamper challenge, the honour this week going to Cathy (aka Mutnik).  I chose her Two Step Stamping Flowers card to case.  I kept the layout, flower theme and overall pink feel and added a sentiment, ribbon, punching, different paper, image and pearls.  The other challenges are this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to create a Spring Card and the JustRite Stampers challenge to mix and match your stamps!  I used the peonies from Beautiful Blossoms, the border from Breath of Spring and the sentiment from Joyful Hearts!!!  There is an awesome Spellbinders prize up for grabs with the JustRite Challenge too so head on over to the JustRite Inspiration Blog for details!!!

I started with a base of white and layered with aqua bazzill, light pink bazzill and some MME DSP, on which I stamped the sentiment from Joyful Hearts.  The next panel is more white punched with a scallop border punch and layered with more MME DSP.  Around this I attached some 1/2" white satin ribbon.  The main panel has been stamped using the peonies from Beautiful Blossoms and the border from Breath of Spring and coloured with markers and a blender pen.  I cut this out using the Lg Oval Nesties and matted with pink bazzill cut using the Label 10 Nesties and popped the panel up on foam tape.  To finish I added a bow and button to the ribbon and some Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the bottom corner.

Stamps - Beautiful Blossoms, Breath of Spring, Joyful Hearts (JustRite Stampers)
Paper - White, Pink and Aqua Bazzill, MME DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 10 and Lg Oval Nestabilities, Scallop Border Punch (SU), 1/2" White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Button, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Foam Tape.

Thats all for today, thanks for visiting!!!

FTTC35 Happy Birthday MUM!!!

Happy Birthday Mum!!!! My Mum is one of my best friends, who has always guided me, encouraged me and been one of the most inspirational people in my life and I LOVE her soooo much!!! {{{HUGS MUM}}} I decided to use the Crazy 4 Challenges number 4 sketch and was also inspired by Flourishes FTTC35 challenge to 'go outside the frame'.

I started with a base of pale pink bazzill layered with light green bazzill, white and some Bella Rose DSP. For the main panel I got to use my brand new Gerbera Daisies by Flourishes! I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black on white and coloured them with markers and a blender pen and then carefully cut them out! I popped them up over a white lattice pendant which in turn was layered on a pale pink Label 8 die cut. The sentiment is from SU's Warmest Regards set, stamped on white and cut out with the Ribbon Tags Trio and attached to the card with some pale pink satin ribbon. Next I stamped, coloured and cut out the butterflies from Gerbera Daisies and popped them up top and bottom of the card. I finished off by adding some Kaisercraft Snow pearls to the top and bottom corners of the Label 8 and to each side of the sentiment panel.

Stamps - Gerbera Daisies (Flourishes), Warmest Regards (SU)

Paper - Pale Pink Bazzill, Light Green Bazzill, White, Bella Rose DSP

Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black

Accessories - Lattice Pendant Die Set, Label 8 Nestabilities, Ribbon Tag Trio Die Set, Pale Pink Satin Ribbon, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Foam Tape, Scissors.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!! :)

C4C3 Butterflies for You

Today's card has been made for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges sketch challenge. I also kind of qualifies for Danni's Flutterby Wednesday challenge to use a butterfly or fairy and some sparkle. Now I know it doesn't look like it in the photo, but there is sparkle on that butterfly! :) This was actually a nice, quick card to make (after I took a little detour! *rolls eyes*).

I started with a base of Really Rust and layered with black and some yummy Graphic45 DSP - Baby 2 Bride Collection. Then the vertical strip is more black layered with more Graphic45, this time from the Botanicabella collection. I then stamped a different image, coloured it in and then realised that it was WAY too big for the panel I wanted to use and then started all over again! LOL! Then I stamped this flower image from SU's Friends 24-7 set and coloured it with markers (pumpkin pie and old olive). I cut it out using the Mega Curved Rectangles die set and then lightly sponged the edges while still in the die in So Saffron. The sentiment is from SU's Best Yet set and stamped in Jet Black Stazon. I then added a pumpkin pie Royal Butterfly punch that has been well sprayed with Wheatfields Glimmermist and finished off by adding some Kaisercraft Black Pearls to the body and under the sentiment and popped the entire white panel up on foam tape.

Stamps - Friends 24-7, Best Yet (both SU)
Paper - Really Rust, Black, Graphic45, White
Ink - Jet Black Stazon
Accessories - Martha Stewart Royal Butterfly Punch, Kaisercraft Black Pearls, Mega Curved Rectangle Nestabilities, foam tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!! :)

C4C2 Masculine 18th...

Today's card is one I made for last week's Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch Challenge. It's been a busy week and this is the first chance I've had to join in. This card is going to a boy celebrating his 18th birthday who loves to play the drums. I've tried to keep it bold and masculine.
I started with a base of black bazzill, layered with white and red - which I pierced around the edge and then added four squares of Ebony and Ivory Kaisercraft DSP. The main panel has been stamped in Real Red using the JustRite 2" Center and Font Set to create a personalised greeting around the border. I then stamped the drums from Inkadinkado's Rock Star Set in Jet Black Stazon in the centre. I cut it out using the Large Circle Nestabilities and layered it on a piece of red cut using the Label 3 Nestabilities and popped the whole panel up. I finished off by piercing around the circle and adding some silver brads to the four corners of the card.
Stamps - 2" Center and Font Set (JustRite), Rock Star (Inkadinkado)
Paper - Black, White, Red Bazzill, Kasiercraft Ebony and Ivory DSP
Ink - Jet Black Stazon, Real Red
Accessories - Large Circle Nestabilities, Label 3 Nestabilities, paper piercer, mat pack, foam tape.
That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!! :)

Crazy 4 Christmas...

This week at SCS, the product focus is JustRite Stampers!!! Don't forget to read about it in today's Weekly Inkling and find the tutorial on the Resources Page!! Today we are looking at the Holiday Demi Phrases, 2" Centre and Font Set and Merry Little Christmas Set. I've used all three to create this special, personalised Christmas card. Christmas will be here before we know it, so I'm starting cards now!! :) I was inspired by the brand new challenge blog - Crazy 4 Challenges - who posted this fabulous sketch for us to use!

I started with a base of white, layered with gold and then some Basic Grey Wassail paper. The next panel is more gold and more Wassail and tied with a piece of 1 inch golden brown satin ribbon with the bow done with a Bow Easy. The main panel is two peices of white cut using the Fleur de Lis Pendant die and then offset. The image panel is made using the candles from the Merry Little Christmas Set, the top sentiment is from the Holiday Demi Phrases and the bottom sentiment has been made using the 2 inch Center and Font Set. I stamped it all in Close to Cocoa ink, coloured with markers and cut out with Lg Circle Nestabilities and matted with a piece of gold and then all popped up on top of the Pendant panel. Finished off by adding some Kaisercraft Chino pearls to the base of each of the peaks.
