Ethan Eagle, better known as Mighty Eagle, is the overarching protagonist of the animated comedy movie series that was created by Sony Pictures Animation and Rovio Animation that started with it's first movie in 2016, The Angry Birds Movie. He is a cowardly (yet sometimes brave) eagle who is the love interest/husband of the genocidal eagle, Zeta.
He was voiced and performed by Peter Dinklage in both of the movies.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
The Angry Birds Movie[]
- While he was reluctant to go with the birds at first, he changed his mind when he saw that the birds were trying to stop the mass infanticide of the eggs (and he thus went out to try to help them).
- He got the net that had all of the eggs in it off the hook before they were all boiled.
- He saved all of the eggs and Chuck from Piggy City while it was exploding.
The Angry Birds Movie 2[]
- He saved everybody who was in his cave from one of the ice balls Zeta launched.
- He assisted in stopping the ice ball attacks by going to Eagle Island.
- He saved Debbie from being crushed by a giant piece of metal.
- He redeemed Zeta by showing that he truly does love her, and made her change her plans about destroying the islands.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Despite being known as the "Mighty" Eagle, he is far too incompetent due to numerous things that happen throughout both of the movies:
- He didn't pay attention to his cave's floor (which caused him to trip over a rock), and wasn't able to fly up due to being too fat to do so.
- He recklessly flew right into the table that had pigs at it at the time.
- He didn't try to get off the table before slamming right into the massive pot, which caused him to briefly become knocked out of realizing what was actually going on at that time (and also indirectly caused the pot to tip over later in the final battle).
- He cowardly abandoned Zeta at her wedding, which indirectly caused her to become a genocidal IH villain seeking revenge on Mighty Eagle.
- He cowardly flew away so he wouldn't have to help with stopping the ice ball attacks.
- He didn't pay attention to what was in front of him while running out of the exploding base, which caused him to be hurt.
- He has perverted tendencies as he uses his binoculars to spy on female birds.
- There are a few moments in the movies where he is a jerk.
Trivia[]
- He and King Leonard Mudbeard are currently the only characters from the Angry Birds franchise to be IA.
- His original game version was actually approved as NPG due to that version lacking multiple corrupting qualities and being more competent.
- While he is IA as for now, this could change if he becomes more competent in the upcoming third Angry Birds movie.
