Jesse is the main protagonist of the Minecraft: Story Mode series. Jesse can be a male or a female depending on your pick. Depending on the choices you make, Jesse can be a generally kind, caring, and loyal friend, or as an egotistical, selfish, rude, and even greedy person who will do anything to get what he or she wants, like the Eversource.

The male version is voiced by Patton Oswalt, and the female version is voiced by Catherine Taber.

• He/she can tell Aiden to shut up. However, Aiden was being quite rude, making fun of Jesse and friends and even calling Reuben "food".
• He/she can have Reuben run away from mobs, allowing him to get lost again and kidnapped by Otis the Butcher. However, Jesse was trying to keep Reuben safe either way, and the latter will also get a black eye from being hit by a zombie if Jesse keeps him with him/her.
• He/she can choose not to try to convince Petra/Gabriel to let Ivor go. However, for all Jesse knew, if Ivor escaped, he could cause more trouble.
• He/she can go after the amulet instead of helping Axel and Reuben. However, he/she still tries to help Axel and Reuben either way, as he/she has Lukas help them while he/she gets the Amulet.
• He/she can choose to leave Cassie Rose alone without giving her cat, Winslow, to her for company. However, this is debatable, as while Cassie Rose dearly misses her home and having Winslow with her would probably be her only comfort, Winslow, being a relatively innocent cat, would be trapped with his owner, possibly for the rest of his life.
• He/she can tell his or her gang to stop Ivor after the latter stole the Atlas and the enchanted flint and steel, and headed to the Portal Network. However, this can be debated, as Jesse could be trying to keep Ivor safe. Also, Jesse's friends appear to be fine with chasing Ivor.
• He can choose to join the Warden, but this could arguably be Jesse trying to protect Radar and he could get him demoted to prisoner depending on the choices.

• After Ivor creates the Wither Storm, Jesse agrees to help Gabriel and reunite the Order.

• He/she is overall dependent on the player’s choice. All of the following corrupting qualities are determined by the player's choice, and can be completely avoided or chosen:
  1. He/she can harshly scold Reuben for running away despite the fact that it wasn't Reuben's fault, it was Aiden's.
  2. Refused Petra's advice on getting along with Lukas.
  3. Did not do anything to save Reuben from Otis the Butcher, causing Reuben to beat up Otis by himself to save himself.
  4. Agreed with Axel on getting payback on Ivor by stealing something from him.
  5. Took Ivor's potion for himself/herself.
  6. Blamed Lukas for Petra not escaping the Wither Storm.
  7. Let Lukas leave the shelter.
  8. Did not give Lukas his/her cookie.
  9. Launched Reuben in the Cow-A-Pult.
  10. Stole a repeater from the Disco Mickey, causing multiple cows to die.
  11. Did not help Ellegaard build a command block.
  12. Kept the amulet whilst Axel distracted the griefers.
  13. Talked bad about Axel/Olivia to Magnus/Ellegard.
  14. He/she can be very rude to Lukas in "The Last Place You Look", such as telling him to stay away from Reuben despite Lukas comforting Reuben, leading his/her friends through the End instead of giving Lukas a chance, and arguing with him, which caused him to leave in the next episode.

  24. Chose to send Aiden over the edge of Sky City. Note that, while Jesse kicked Aiden into a waterfall carrying him off Sky City knowing that there was land below and, as such, knew that Aiden would survive due to the water, this is still rather mean, if not villainous, as Aiden was oblivious to the land below.
  25. Endangered Aiden by threatening to leave him to die, though he did deserve it.
  26. Insulted TorqueDawg back by calling him a loser.
  27. Did not show any pity for TorqueDawg after his death.

  50. Did not allow Radar to take care of Beacontown while he/she, Petra, Jack and Vos went on an adventure under the sea, which could have possibly put the lives of all the citizens in danger.
  51. If he/she chooses to save Jack instead of helping Petra, he/she can tell Petra that she just got upset over a sword, showing no remorse when she calls him/her out on almost endangering her life.
  52. Did not trust Radar with guarding the clock and instead gave the job to Lukas.
  53. Showed at least some interest in joining the Admin even after learning that he is evil.
  54. Left Stella trapped in ice.
  55. Can insult Romeo or threaten him with a sword instead of reasoning with him.
  56. Refused to let Stella join him/her and his/her group.
  57. Can be very rude to Xara when they first meet, and he/she can either warm up to Xara or continue being hostile towards her even after letting her join his/her team.
  58. Left Xara behind instead of staying behind to help her kill a ghast, and he/she even forces Petra, Jack, Radar and Nurm/Lluna to do the same, which utterly disgusts Radar.
  59. If he/she brings Nurm with him/her in “Jailhouse Block”, Jesse can be mean to him in “Below the Bedrock” by calling him out on looking at a pink llama blanket while coldly telling him that pink is the wrong color, which can upset Nurm even more.
  60. Can agree with his/her friends when they say that Xara is going berserk over a lost bed.
  61. Argued with Binta instead of listening to her when she said that unless he/she wins Fred’s trivia contest, he/she cannot enter his keep.
  62. If he/she loses the trivia contest, he/she sneaks into Fred’s keep without permission and can whisper mean things about Kent while he is asleep, and upon getting caught by Binta, he/she can lie about his/her motives, leading to Binta having trouble trusting him/her.
  63. Can aid Petra in getting unreasonably angry at Jack for wanting to stay with Fred’s people for a good reason.
  64. Told Petra that she is somewhat similar to Romeo in terms of personality.
  65. He/she can hurt Petra’s feelings by not telling her that he/she will either be by her side at all times or wait for her in Beacontown, which almost causes Petra to have a mental breakdown over the fear of being separated from Jesse (her best friend), though she will just shed a few tears instead.
  66. Agreed with Xara’s idea to kill Romeo, which Radar calls him/her out on. While Romeo is truly a horrible individual given he killed Fred, imprisoned Xara for years, and forced Jesse and his/her friends into playing his games, he didn’t deserve to be killed as Jesse and Petra both found a tree which was seen as a memorial for Fred and Xara, and he was also upset about them having their own lives and not having enough time for him.
  67. Failed to give Xara her bed, which can result in her death at the hands of Romeo in “Above and Beyond”. Although Jesse didn’t know that such a tragedy would occur, Xara was unable to see hope in the world because of it.
  68. Can save Radar from the giant Enderman as opposed to Fred’s people, and this is also implied to result in the deaths of Binta and the rest of Fred’s people.
  69. Told Jack to pretend to be cool in Ivor’s presence instead of persuading him to be himself.
  70. Called Axel dumb for suggesting to reason with the Admin instead of fighting him, despite Axel’s good intentions.
  71. On his/her way to find Stella, he/she can cause a few people (including Wink and Nell) to be kidnapped and sent to Romeo’s prison until they are bailed out of his prison by Lukas.
  72. He/she can choose to not call out Radar/Binta on brutally punching the back of a guard’s head.
  73. Before proving to Lukas that he/she is not the Admin, Jesse can rudely tell him to stop talking for two seconds and let him/her talk, which is something that Lukas can call Jesse out on afterwards.
  74. Abandons Romeo in the Terminal Space rather than taking him with him/her, Petra and Jack, despite Romeo wanting to redeem himself and to be a better person. This will also lead to the death of Romeo.
  75. Can optionally remain Stella’s rival rather than reconciling with her.
  76. Did not assure Axel and Olivia that they will always be friends no matter what happens.

Trivia[]

• Due to Jesse's personality being dependent on the player, it is possible to make Jesse a NPG or PG. It is also possible for him/her to start out with multiple corrupting factors, but shed them later on to qualify as such after becoming a Reformed or even Wholly Reformed character.
• Prior to being approved here, Jesse's inconsistent side made him/her considered a villain on Villains Wiki before the page was eventually deleted due to his/her optionable worst actions amounting to jerkish behaviours rather than truly villainous acts, with the trivia section containing theories about Jesse becoming Pure Evil in the future despite the possibility being very unlikely.
