Eric Gillbert is the main protagonist of the 2016 Ghostbusters remake.
She is portrayed by Kristen Wiig.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Admirable[]
- By the end of the film, she successful defeat Rowan North (in his giant ghost form) and trap him and all the spirits back into the ghost dimension, preventing him from wiping out humanity
- She was the one who came up with idea of her, Abby, and Jillian making a living catching ghost
- Saved Abby from getting stuck in the ghost portal dimension despite the risk of her getting stuck too
- She was the one who discovered Rowan’s hide out as well as his plan to open a portal to release all the ghosts
- Saved Kevin from falling to his death when Rowan abandoned his body
- Saved Abby, Jillian, and Patty from getting killed by Staypuff
- Since the 2016 is set in its own continuity and has no connection to main 4 films, she doesn’t have to be compared to Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston. Within her universe, they definitely set the standard for defeating Rowan and all the ghosts he summoned and preventing him from destroying humanity.
What Makes Her Inconsistent[]
- She can be very impulsive and reckless as shown by her releasing Mayhem just to prove to Dr. Heiss that ghosts were real and that she wasn’t a fraud, despite Abby trying to tell her it was a bad idea, thus indirectly causing his possible death/hospitalization, even if it was unintentional. Making this worse is that, she doesn’t show too much remorse after this and gets over it pretty quickly.
- In the extended cut, she has a brief berserker moment where she punches a vlogger. However, given how he was antagonizing her and calling her “ghost girl” and filming her without her consent, this is somewhat understandable.
Trivia[]
- She, Abby Yates, Jillian Holtzmann, Peter Venkman, and Egon Spengler are the only Ghostbusters characters to be Inconsistently Admirable.
