I noticed some incosistency regarding character pages. The "Appearance" section is placed above the "Personality" section with the "Background/History" section just below them, right? Character Pictures[]

Sorry for uploading the duplicate pictures. MeLovGaming uploaded some really bad ones and replaced all the old pictures on the Character page with them. In an attempt to fix it, I uploaded new versions to the files he uploaded without realizing that there were previous versions that were fine. Will look for an option for undoing what someone did before trying to simply replace it next time. All these new pictures lack licenses too, while the older ones are fine. I noticed a lot of the manga cover pictures don't have any licensing. Before I begin going through any more chapters, what licensing should I tag? DVD/BD Images[]

I'm having trouble trying to add the Heavens Arena DVD/BD box art to the List of Episodes (2011 series) page. It looks like it's just template within template, but I think one of the templates is set up in a way where the filename has to be in a certain format. However, they're no longer releasing "volumes" for the series, so changing it to "HxH DVD09.jpg" wouldn't entirely make sense. It's more like volumes 9-12 (since it contains 12 episodes total). I suppose we could keep with that naming though, even if it's not entirely correct.

i'm a big fan of hunter x hunter and i also want to help improve this wiki

i would like to suggest two things if it's alright.

1. please have a facebook page for this wiki. i think it would really help other hxh fans to get to know more about hxh

2. well i've been thinking about it, but i guess Greed Island Cards should also have independent pages. the 2011 version shows the card's picture and description so i think we should include that in this wiki. it could really increase the number of pages and files here and i'm sure it would also help the fans to understand the hxh universe even better

so what do you say? i'll help with the images but i'm not good at templates. i know i can't do this by myself but i really want to help this wiki.

Hello I just want to appologize for the minor edits I made that seemed to have been either wrong or of no use to the wiki that you've corrected as of late. Don't get me wrong I'm not really doing it for the badges/points/leadership or what not; I just do it cause I like this wiki's series a whole lot. Although it make seem like I'm contridicting myself their with all the edits and pages I'ved added to the wiki, which I plan on slowing down to give other people a chance to do it themselves.

And for the record I'm known to make people angry or annoyed without even trying. Even when I think I'm doing something right and double/triple check myself on editing a page at times it seems I still goof up. I'm still learning the ropes of this place and hopefully can continue to contribute to this wiki as much as I possibly can... hopefully not making any enemies in the process...

Xscar ruler of this wiki?[]

XScar is replacing all my images without consulting anyone else on his on prerogative and standards. His opinion is that the 1999 images should have their original aspect ratio, even when changing the aspect ratio increases the quality of the image. This is the second time I have seen him using his own standards to determine something for everyone, just by himself. To me this is a community and if you want to decide something you have to consult other members or an admin and come to a consensus. Not just arrogantly go ahead with what you think is right. Sorry but is a blatant misinformation, since "boku" is not only used by males and is guiding people to think that is true.

There is a big discussion about Pitous gender and, somewhat I can agree on using he for convenience (although there are better ways to explain it without "he" but not the topic atm) But "boku" use is really confusing and inaccurate.

Affiliation and locked page[]

Why in seven hells does the main page state that we are specifically affiliated with the toriko wiki. All anime wiki's are kind of affiliated with one another, why does the toriko wiki gets preferential treatment. OnePieceNation (talk) 23:50, July 7, 2013 (UTC)

and only has a couple more users then us and their users have more edits then us due to the fact their is way more material to work every dish and ingredient its one page not to mention the huge amount of characters. However unlike us (as far as I know) they actually complain about the fact that they don't have enough users and that way more work needs to be done. (My general opinion is that if you have the time to complain about something you also have the time to do something about whatever it is your complaining about). It is not very likely that any of their editors will come here, we can better try our luck at the big three wikia's, with sadly the one piece shitia in the front since it is overrun with editors (and stupid arguments, fights and edit wars and run by an evil admin, but I digress). However my main question was why toriko and not any other, but now I know you also want others. However to get more editors affiliation might not be the best way to get it. You could ask rumblexrumble (who is still part of the one piece shitia a bit) to write a blog there whether people want to join him on our wiki. This might get people interested. the one piece wikia community is for the most part, the most unforgiving, unrelentless, most quarrelsome, most unfair wikia community you will ever encounter, if you are someone who wants to do things better or different then the status quo. They will manage to actively ostracise and chase away people who think differently then them and the main admin of the wikia is one of the frontrunners (and the other admins following in line like meak little sheeps) in this policy. If you are in the in-crowd you are safe from this for the most part if you are part of the blog community you are very safe from this however if you are part of the side crowd or if you are very opposing your not. Furthermore the in-crowd gets away with doing things that others have been warned about not to do or even have been banned for. Most of them don't believe in second chances. Masters of Animanga promotion[]

Hello! I am herald_of_meridian and I'm here to let you know that Wikia has launched a pretty exciting animanga project that might spark the interest of your community! The project in question is the Collaborative Writing Project with the Masters of Animanga and is an event stretching from September 3rd to the 27th, where users are invited to collaborate with some big names in the animanga business to create three short stories based around the vampire genre, samurai genre and girls genre. Animanga Wikia users can work together with Japanese professional mangaka, illustrators and producers to create a paragraph-to-paragraph story that will be highlighted on Wikia and eventually also on New York Comic-Con! Now isn't that great?!

Now, Bereisgreat and I are spreading the word for them and requesting some major animanga Wikis to promote the project to its community. Can I ask you to place this image on both the main page and the Community-corner and have it linked to the MOA blog post that I linked earlier? We would also like a blog post or a forum post (whatever is most popular over here) to get a conversation started on the Wiki. If I could leave that in your hands, that'd be great, unless of course you would like me to reach out to this Wiki's users. Both these things would be sufficient and ideal to get the word out and create some attention for the project, which is very much appreciated. Also, are there any particular users you are aware of that would be interested in writing a story like this, since I would like to reach out to them personally.

Alluka[]

May I ask why you immediately deleted my changes to the Alluka page, even though I added sources strait from the manga for everything? Andsunnydays (talk) 23:00, October 18, 2013 (UTC)

Milluki, Illumi, and Silva clearly do not give a crap about Alluka. Illumi wants to kill Alluka, and SIlva works around the ban on killing family members by saying "You must not think of "it" as family" (ch 326). In chapter 321, Silva specifically says "that is not a person. (...) It is something that came from a different place. It is darkness[kanji read as Nanika]". (Silva does not seem to make a distinction between Alluka and Nanika here). Illumi and Silva are clearly dehumanizing Alluka/Nanika, while Killua accepts, loves, and vows to protect both Alluka and Nanika. I think it would be much safer to accept Killua's opinion on Alluka's gender then the opinion of the family members who don't even consider Alluka human, let alone part of the family. I see no reason for their opinion to be given considerable weight, other than as a dry, outsider's view on the situation.

That they consider Alluka a brother would make sense in a scenario of Alluka being biologically male and psychologically female. I can't really come up with a better solution as to why Illumi says "brother" and Killua says "sister" than this. I don't see why Killua would have any ulterior motives for calling Alluka a girl if Alluka was truley all man. (Like maybe he just really wants a sister? But that doesn't make any sense considering he's already got a cross-dressing little bro). Nanika could be a confounding variable in this puzzle, but I would think that Killua would know the difference b/w them, so Nanika shouldn't have any affect on what he calls Alluka. It just seems the most logical to assume "she" is correct, unless there is another theory that can peice together all the facts. Andsunnydays (talk) 23:58, October 18, 2013 (UTC)

i never asked for my rating to be used as canon and IF we were to use it we would simply dub it as "fan power rating" i only made it to be used for blogs and to know how other users would rate thier favorite character. i would love if i can make voting blogs for these statistics, maybe use these poll templates.

Affiliation[]

User xglassreflection has asked about affiliation from us for both the attack on titan wiki he is an admin of and the one piece wiki he isn't an admin of stating he is acting with their permission. We (me and hahaharuhi) have now agreed to add the attack on titan wiki to our affiliates but we can't agree upon the fact whether to add the one piece wikia to our affiliates since my objections to that are as follows I don't want their problems to occur over here and as a former editor of the one piece wikia I know all to well about their problems and so does fellow wiki member Silva92/Silva-zoldyck also personally I feel that affiliation requests should be handled by admins only and that if a wiki is seriously considering affiliation with us they should have the decency to cut out the middle man and ask it themselves, so I personally can't consider affiliating with them before one of their admins makes it clear they want to. Due to recent events I think it is necessary to make certain new policies. So I have gone ahead and made a policy regarding blog posts and blog comments. Hunterpedia:Blog Posts and Comments and the rules about what users can and can't do, I think that due to the more informal nature of blogs people should by allowed to go off topic in the comments or add a personal note to the blog. I have also temporally protected the page against non admin users making edits to it and I request of you to first discuss changes to the policy I made in the talk page before making any edits to them. badges[]

well that might be the case for some users, but they may also have other reasons for hiding their badges (I have asked rumblexrumble and hahaharuhi their reasons for turning them off) . I can imagine you hiding your badges when they get redesigned because you don't like their new designs. However this is obviously the opposite of what me and -darkchylde are trying to do, we like to get people more involved with the badges, so if the redesigning them causes people to turn off their badges, they shouldn't be redesigned. Shaiapouf's Ability[]

Hi MrGenial,

Sorry I'm new here and I'm not familiar with the editting rules. I saw Shaiapouf's hypnosis ability got editted out. I'm appealing to have it included in his Abilities section at least (I'm not sure if that's a Nen ability). I think it plays an important role in the Chimera Ant plot as it is used to pacify the citizens for selection. And I think Pouf used it twice, first at the beginning of the selection and second during Meruem's return to the palace.

Re: Image conflict[]

Yeah but the <"Visit edit mode" or "View current page"> problem occurs only in Gon's image gallery for me. There I can change the order of images in the source mode as you've just said. In other characters image gallery, this problem doesn't occur for me but at the same time, as I've just said I'm unable to change the order of images when I upload them and I can't visit the edit mode to change the order since this problem doesn't appear in other galleries or perhaps you can tell me any other way to vist the edit mode. The "modify" or "delete" option doesn't appear anymore although it was some time before and thus I'm unable to move images here and there while uploading. Have you got any idea how and when can this problem be sorted out? Because the images would just piled up at the bottom the page in the galleries when I add them. We have a gender queen problem.[]

So to keep it short there is this new user Asslord2000 who insist (demands harshly) that we change Alluka article form male oriented to female oriented. The behaviour of this person to me is in one word bad (making me want to block him). Please check out what has gone back and forth between me and him so far and give him a judgement about his demand and his behaviour.

We actually are working on a central location now that will link to the parent pages on individual wikias! I'm sorry to bother you over something so trivial, but I needed to ask an admin about it and, well, since you had the misfortune of replying to my bog post and having such a lovely avatar image, I thought I'd ask you.

1- Would it be possible for me to open an new blog about the abilities of the Zodiacs? All the previous ones were closed. I don't know if I'll do it, but I thought I'd ask.

2- Hisoka's sexuality is often cause of debate (and of vandalism, as I chanced to read). Would it be ok to give a littl eexplanation about it in his Personality section? This is something along the lines of what I was planning on writing: "Hisoka's sexuality is a direct consequence of his battle-loving nature: to him, it doesn't matter whether it be a child, a man or a woman, so long as he or she has power or potential". Of course I'll improve and expand it, provided it can be done.

3- I don't know if you are involved in the creation of the achievement badges, I just wanted to say the names are really good. Just that.

Do you want to get into trouble. You can only adopt a wiki that has been inactive as far as I know. Wait just read your adoption request, where does it say on dark's profile that she is away for four months. Also I have senior edits shouldn't I be the bureaucrat jk. Now to get to the meat of it four months of absense is probably not enough to warrent outside interferal into the wiki to make you a bureaucrat. If you want to be a bureaucrat you really should have at least tryed to ask Dark about it first instead of going behind her back to the wikia staff. Thanks for taking this up with me rather than approaching the Community in your own. We do have an active administration here so going to the Community seems unnecessary.

I have nothing against your asking, though I hope your reason does not solely base because the manga is back and I will be gone for a few months. For all the years I've been here, I have seen how inactive editors become once they fulfill their goals: admin rights. Once admins, they begin editing less and less, and I don't have to name names.

Also, the bureaucratic right only allows other editors to other rights (rollback, chat moderator, etc.). As of Hunterpedia's status right now, we do not need two editors that are both admins and bureaucrats, out of three admins (which we know the other one could be in line for a demotion). What we need more is contributors. Now that the manga's back, that may not be so farfetched. But for now, two bureaucrats in a not-so-active wiki doesn't seem necessary.

In the end, I have nothing against your asking, though it should have been in a better timing. You could ask OPN for his opinion. It's about time we hear from him. Darcy Talk 22:59,5/2/2016

Nen diagram[]

Hey, I'm not sure if you're the one to ask, but I was wondering if we could change the current Nen chart to this. I believe my one is superior for the following reasons:

It is symmetrical.
It is background-less, which means that it will flow well with the page colour.
It has colours.
The Nen types are referred to by their proper name (Enhancement rather than Enhancer).
This is unique and original, whereas the old one is an unofficial scanlation.
A DinoTaur made it.

Texture Surprise[]

Some time ago it was decided that Texture Surprise should be counted as a Conjuration ability. The databook uses the kanji for "to manifest", which is used for Conjuration abilities. The audience at Heavens Arena, which is formed of non-Nen users, was tricked by it, which means they could see it: it is possible only with Conjuration abilities. Also, various Nen users have held a paper on which Hisoka had used Texture Surprise and were tricked by it, while in general aura can be perceived, distinguished with sight or through tact (Youpi). I wanted to say that Nanika has not been confirmed to be an Ai, but Alex preceded me. And yes, I was planning to remove Alluka's Nen abilities and place them on Nanika's page. I see your point about splitting the page in two, but the difference from the human-to-chimera characters is that there is no continuity between the psyches of the two characters, and they have diferent origins. The only thing I plan to remove from Alluka's page is Nanika's wish-granting ability. There is also the problem of the categories, since Alluka and nanika belong to two different species, Nanika's still being unknown. As for the abilities, Alluka is not a Nen user, but Nanika is, we know she used aura when she healed Gon (though again, I wouldn't call her a Specialist yet). As for Nanika's gender, the clearest instance is when she claims to be a girl right after healing Tsubone's hands (her eyes are back to normal, but Killua explains it was still Nanika speaking). I'd rather not start an edit war with this "I want to stand" by me character regarding Netero's page, so I'd like your input into the matter. There is no clear indication that Netero is using Enhancement with his Guanyin Bodhisattva, which is why I keep undoing his edits that contradict this fact. No aura is seen surrounding his body, at all, giving no indication that his hand movements use nen in any clear way whatsoever. Inferred Nen type[]

How should we go about it? So far, we have 16 "yes" against 1 "no", and 14 "reference" as opposed to 3 "depends on the case", so I guess "yes" and "reference" have won.

Do you want me to make a list of all abilities that have an unconfirmed or unknown Nen type, so we can choose which ones we should leave as "unknown" but list the main possibilities in a reference, and which Nen types we should write directly (still explaining why in the reference)? I have written "unconfirmed" near every ability that was not openly stated to be of that type (including Killua's Narukami), even if they were indirectly confirmed of being that type (for example, a Conjuration ability is seen by non-Nen users). I agree with almost decisions, though, should we remove Bonolnov's Nen type, then? Cheetu being a Conjurer comes from the databook too, I think. Still, I disagree about Moritonio's Nen ability. Hisoka has never attached Bungee Gum to aura, and the pillars are said to be made out of steel (thus of a real element, not aura), and drawn like real objects (I can write why I think so and then send it to you if you want). I am also not too sure about Meleoron, he does say invisibility is one of his abilities. Cookie chan not being confirmed surprises me quite a lot, but if we know she uses Transmutation, we can easily infer the other two Nen types (I'll just try to see if it is confirmed Cookie is emitted and not conjured). Zeno's aura beam is present in the manga (chapter 98, page 15). Genthru's Nen type was from the databook, his Little Flower was confirmed to be Transmutation (though I don't remember where), and Countdown was explained by Abengame right after Genthru leaves. Right now, I disagree with adding Mnaipulation to Chain Jail. As for the symbol, we could either use a regular reference, or an asterisk. Martialmaniac (talk) 10:52, June 30, 2016 (UTC)

Thinking back, I still cannot understand how Palm's ability could be Enhancement, despite it being her type, and while Binolt's Hatsu is similar to Pakunoda's, it also shares some characteristics with Palm's, so it may not be Specialization. I'm perfectly satisfied with how it looks. Still, who modified the Nen types of Doctor Blythe and Terpsichora? Doctor Blythe clearly makes use of Conjuration and Manipulation, but since Pitou is a Specialist, it being left Unknown is fine with me; however, I don't think we have any reason to consider it Specialization. Same with Terpsichora, we don't even know if that's Emission or Conjuration (and if the strings are transmuted), we should probably leave it as Unknown and leave only its apparent effects in the description (increases Neferpitou's muscle mass). Portable Infoboxes[]

Hello! I'm Isaac, and I'm representing Wikia's Vanguard and Community Technical teams. We help communities adopt to new technologies and features, like content portability. We've identified Hunterpedia as a high priority for introducing the Portable Infobox tool, which has a lot of benefits for your community. Rather than get into all of the metrics and numbers (though I can present some of those if you're interested), I'll keep it simple. I'd like to reproduce as much as possible the look and feel of your desktop infoboxes in global CSS, and work to update the Infobox templates themselves so that they can be accessible on any current and future platform. Maintaining them if you want to make changes should be very simple.

Here is an example of my work in progress. I'm getting it to look almost exactly like your existing elements, and am continuing to work on it. Since it represents a significant infrastructure change, I hope that you will consider the final result.

If I can do this successfully for some of your most commonly used Infoboxes, can we work together to do all of them? We'd really like to get working on your community, and would appreciate your go-ahead. Once I'm finished, I'll drop another note here. I was absolutely planning to make it look closer to your existing. This brings up a question: you have multiple templates that look very different from each other. While I can create multiple themes, this is also an opportunity to consolidate your theme a bit. Because of the rest of your site colors and the prevalence of the green Character theme, I made it the default (and therefore can make the other Infoboxes, like Episode and Chapter and Location replicate that look).

I normally would be able to use your Switch template interchangeably, but it oddly would not work inside the new boxes (and I'm REALLY stumped why). However, this also presents another opportunity to be able to simplify the coding. Since gallery is a native feature, it tends to work much better, and I can style how the selector works to look like your existing switch. Since nearly all of the character images use some combination of 2011, 1999, and Manga images it's actually incredibly easy to have a parameter for each of these. If you choose to go that route, I can help with a bot to sort through your existing pages. Otherwise, I can make adaptations to your switch once I figure out the problem.

October~ Theme[]

Hi. So, it's been about a year since Darcy asked me to make the first special theme for Hunterpedia....it was a nice idea, to have a new theme every month. I used to learn new photoshop skills (and even digital draw) to make a better them each time, but now I barely have time to think about the suitable images. I'm having a rough time and therefore I wont be able to make new themes till next June or July, when I finish my damned final exams.

The last background I made was for another wikia but it really doesn't matter; please use it, if you want. And for the logos, I chose top 13 characters (Leorio was farther than I expected =_=)

The last two accounts were created on the same date -_- and they all upload edited cards (after removing crosses, winks, the hexagonal star (?!?!)). Alluka's gender/pronouns[]

Recently, I brought to the attention of the wiki that objective material from the manga indicates Alluka to be a girl (specifically, the title of chapter 322, with more information here via my post ). As no one has offered a counter-argument to explain this, I'm requesting that Alluka's pronouns be changed to female, with all information regarding the conflicting accounts of her gender kept as-is, and the only addition being that the narrative structure indicates her to be a girl. Unprofessional attitude[]

I'm writing this to bring to your attention the unprofessional and inflammatory behavior of one of the administrators of the wiki. I'm speaking of OnePieceNation, who has continuously acted with extreme childishness in the thread regarding Alluka's gender. Rather than actually attempting to discuss and debate, he has chosen to throw around slurs in an attempt to get me to either break down or go away. He has repeatedly expressed disdain for members of the wikia, calling them stupid and dismissing parts of their identities as "nonsense". He has badgered members of the wikia for information about themselves that they repeatedly stated they did not wish to disclose. He has locked articles with no reason or warning. I won't ask for him to be demoted from his position, but I strongly urge you and Darkchylde (whenever she returns) to consult with him regarding his behavior. Thanks for your time.

I have also contacted the wikia staff to inform them of this, as OnePieceNation has broken the wikia terms of use with his use of slurs.

I contacted you (and reported him) long before he apologized. I recognize that some people consider it to be a rash action, but I felt it was well within my bounds to report a user for breaking the Terms of Use. Additionally, here is the instance I'm speaking of re:badgering a user - Nomami stated more than once that they did not wish to disclose their gender, OPN continued to pursue with no respect towards their decision. I hope you can understand that the action I took was with the context of knowing that Darkchylde is completely absent from the Wikia, and that I had reason to doubt that my concerns would be addressed by any admins. We've had (brief) discussions before, and I was honestly hoping very desperately that you would be able to see my messages before things degenerated more.

I understand that people have lives and that it's unreasonable to expect a response right off the bat, but as the situation got (in my opinion) more and more out of hand, I'm going to admit this right out:

I no longer felt safe in interacting with OPN. I didn't want to disclose this initially, because I felt I would be mocked for it. I still believe certain users on the wikia would mock me for it, as I have already been called "thin-skinned" and "overreacting" on my own talk page.

But seeing as you are an admin on this wikia, I feel that it's important to say this straight out and hope that it helps to impart on you the significance of what occured.

OPN's actions in the thread and repeated use of the "unfortunate word choices" did in fact trigger a flashback to a traumatic incident in my past. I was absent in the thread for a significant period of time because I was scared. I was scared that something he would say in that thread would put me in a dangerous mental state, and specifically that I would relapse into self-harm. His insistance that words were just words and that I was being over-sensitive for having a reaction to them only heightened this fear.

He had demonstrated (and I recognize and am thankful that he later rescinded this, but my actions were taken before this) that he had no regard for my emotional state. I had every reason to believe that he would continue to post links to things and say things with either the intent or side effect of harming me emotionally. He was disregarding my repeated insistance that use of slurs was unacceptable, and I feel my fear that his responses would become more severe and hostile was warranted.

I have every reason to believe OPN was aware that I was transgender, as I had stated it multiple times prior to the thread and after his post.

I was later able to safely leave my dissociative episode without engaging in any self-endangering behavior, and at that point I re-engaged.

I feel that my evidence regarding Alluka is fairly conclusive at this point, and, again, no one is actually offering counter-evidence that cannot be easily discarded by examination of source material. I will easily admit that I have some regrets regarding the repeated derailing of the thread, and I have some regrets regarding my own phrasing. But as I stated in said thread, it is always another user who turns the discussion away from Alluka and I have tried multiple times to bring the topic back to Alluka. I won't say I'm not complicit, but I will say that I address whatever concerns are leveled at me, and eventually (some faster than others) the person who I am talking to abandons the discussion of Alluka.

Killua's Trivia[]

Hi Mr, I would like to hear your opinion on two Trivia on Killua's page:

One of the few differences between Killua and Hiei is that he actually smiles in contrast to his Yu Yu Hakusho counterpart who is never seen smiling.
Another difference is that Killua quickly befriends with Gon on their first meeting, unlike Hiei and Yusuke who start of as enemies.

First off, there aren't "few differences" between Killua and Hiei, and since they already are two different characters, I don't see the point of highlighting in what ways they differ. I removed this once already and explained why, but someone wrote it again (probably because they did not read my edit summary). Do you think we should keep them, or can I remove them and inform the user of the decision?

Yes, I think it is not worth insisting on the differences, because they already are different characters, unless those differences can be seen as a reference (e.g. Hiei is a fantastic bike rider, Killua tries to use a bike and falls.
