Synopsis[]

PokkleTortured

Pitou torturing Pokkle for information on Nen

Inside the Chimera Ant Nest, someone mentions that Nen has six subtypes, explaining that basic training involves increasing the amount of aura and accelerating its flow—two skills which are essential in Nen combat. The person mentions more of the basics like Zetsu and Ren, further explaining that an individual's ability is influenced by their own personality (e.g., if they are more aggressive, their ability is likely to be more destructive). As the person stresses how important it is that one's ability is compatible with their subtype, a lobotomized Pokkle is seen lying naked as the newly-born Royal Guard prods his brain with multiple instruments. They ask how someone learns what subtype they belong to, and Pokkle is forced to answer, saying that the common method is Water Divination.

As a Chimera Ant worker brings a cup of water with a leaf floating on the surface, the Royal Guard tells Rammot to give it a try. He puts his hands around the cup, and the water suddenly overflows, with the Royal Guard saying that he is an Enhancer. Amused, they try it out as well and the leaf breaks apart, with Peggy saying that they are a Specialist. The Royal Guard tells Peggy to call them Neferpitou, a name given by the Queen herself. Pitou tells Pig that they won't be needing Pokkle anymore, ordering him to feed the human to the Queen, and he immediately pulls out a large butcher knife to begin chopping up the body.

Chap 198 - Rammot awakening the Nen of the other Ants

Rammot awakening the Nen of the other Ants

Pitou sends out a message telepathically to all the Squadron Leaders and Officers, ordering them to assemble in hall one where they will receive power with which to serve the Queen. Colt is seen with aura around one of his hands, savoring the newfound power, and Rammot punches the soldiers one by one to awaken their Nen. Pitou comments to themselves about how tough it must be being ordinary, since each has to go through such steps just to get power. They suddenly sense something and tell Peggy to take care of things. Peggy asks them where they're going, and Pitou says that they plan to find out how strong they are.

Chap 198 - Kite losing his arm to Pitou's strike

Kite losing his arm to Pitou's strike

Outside the nest, Kite senses Pitou's aura and describes them as a monster, suddenly ordering Gon and Killua to run away from him. Pitou hangs on to the side of the nest and spots the three Hunters far off in the distance, increasing the size of their quadriceps and rocketing off the nest. As Kite continues to order Gon and Killua to run, his right arm is suddenly severed at the shoulder, and Pitou lands nearby as the two boys look on in horror. Pitou looks back at Gon and Killua, terrifying the two with their malevolent aura.

However, after Gon sees Kite's severed arm, he becomes enraged and releases his aura, screaming out in anger. Before Kite can tell him to stop, Killua suddenly knocks Gon unconscious with a blow to the head and putting him over his shoulder. Kite thanks Killua for making the right call and orders him to run for it.

With the two gone, Kite manifests his Crazy Slots, which laughs and comments on his predicament, saying that he better hope for a good number. The spinner lands on 3, having Pitou to be intrigued by the ability. Kite summons his weapon in hand, promising to buy time for the boys.

As Killua continues running further into the forest, he realizes that he and Gon had been overconfident, as both of them combined were still weaker than Kite with one arm. Knowing that if Kite had been alone and hadn't had to worry about them, things would have gone differently. Ashamed, Killua calls himself and Gon fools.
