Mirages (ミラージュ Mirāju) are entities that appear in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE. Mirages serve as partners to the main cast of the game, fighting alongside them in the Idolasphere against bestial or evil Mirages. They are reminiscent of Demons and Personas used in the greater Megami Tensei franchise, but instead utilized characters from the Fire Emblem franchise.

Profile[]

Beings that traverse into the modern world from a dimensions called Idolaspheres. They are attracted to humans with Performa; a manifestation of creative energy. Some are benevolent and aid the player-characters, while others appear as enemies and seek to drain humans of all their Performa. When a human has had their Performa drained, they become susceptible to being possessed by the attacking Mirage.

Characteristics[]

Physical appearance[]

A vast majority of Mirages are humanoid in appearance, drawing strong appearances from their source Fire Emblem character, especially the ones used by the main cast. However, several are non-humanoid in appearance such as Aversa who appears as a centaur-pegasus hybrid while Excellus appears like a gate.

Other Mirages that do have a more humanoid appearance nonetheless bear physical traits that make them seem otherworldly and machine-like. Navarre, for example, has in place of a normal arm a long coil that can stretch, while Tharja does not appear to have arms at all, with the folds of her cloak standing in place for them. Cain rides a motorcycle rather than a horse while Caeda's steed, which changes to resemble a wyvern as a Wyvern Knight or a griffon as a Falcon Knight, has rocket boosters for hind legs.
