About those pictures you deleted[]
Hey Fae, how were those two GIF pictures you deleted copyrighted? I actually thought they were cool, which is why I had them on my user page. I didn't know there was anything wrong with them. Now, I'm not getting mad at you for deleting them, but I'm just wondering why they were deleted. A.J. two (Smashboards) 17:32, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

There's something you really need to know[]
Let me tell you something, Mr. Faethin. It's regarding about the underage block of my younger sister, Divinecross, alias Venir. You blocked the wrong person and the wrong user. We're a family consisting of 4 siblings. I'm gonna tell you our backstory so you won't get confused. Our parents are genuises as we are. We're riched and priviledged. Our parents died in a plane accident. And we usually cry alot about it. I, Sarina, alias HaagasuxTegu, is the eldest: 18. I'm on my second year of college, studying Chemistry. But I'm also studying the trend of oil. Next, Genevieve, alias Xion777, is at highschool, (17), getting ready for her AP exams, and is currently at New Zealand for a field trip. She wants to be a doctor. So she studies hard. The next, Venir, alias Divinecross, is not the exact person you've blocked. Well, save that for later. Venir is at Prague getting ready to study in Harvard. She is also getting ready to study conservatory music, and just graduated from Trinity Guildhall. And she's not underage. She's 15. Now, for the revelation:
Camio is the youngest of us all. He is a brat, he doesn't get along with Venir well, and he doesn't have any brains. He isn't dumb, but he isn't smart, either. He is currently in the UAE. He only has one expertise, which is, golf. He wanders around everywhere for golf tournaments, ignoring his overdue online school studies. Yes, he is the 11-year-old brat. When Venir left the UAE for Prague, she left behind her laptop. Now, Camio, who hates Venir, sneaked into her laptop and logged into Venir's account, Divinecross. The account was always remembered, so he managed to log in. Then he stated he was underage in Venir's userpage. He stated everything about himself on Venir's userpage. Venir hasn't been able to log in recently, being busy with her studies and the preparation for conservatory music. Then Camio talked to all the guys and almost everyone. He did those badass stuff in her sister's account. Now, where is the real Venir? Venir just catched a plane and is urging the pilot to land it already in UAE when she discovered about the block. She is very furious about what Camio did that got her account blocked and vowed in public that she would get her account back, then later bury Camio alive in the backyard. Now, in the airport, Venir rushed on to the house where Camio is staying at, leaving the luggage to her butlers. How about Camio...? He ran away in fear of getting spanked more than 100 times and being buried alive. He ran to the airport with his passport, dragging along our aunt who is even barely dressed. And in the hurry, Camio even forgot to pack some of his underwear. Now, Venir is jumping up and down her room, tearing away the pillows, startling and scaring her butlers. So, Venir is not the underage. Camio the brat is the underage. And I believe you need to give her her account back, before she destroys the whole house. Actually she can't edit after April and May next year, because she's going to Harvard already. She needs to finish her walkthroughs. And the walkthrough belongs to her. Hopefully, Camio didn't flirt with anyone or said something offending to any editor here. And Venir is also getting ready to tear down the Christmas tree in our house after she drinks her favorite lyche juice. It took us half a day to set-it-up. All because of her ruined reputation. Please save our house by unblocking the account. Well, any suggestions what I should do with the underwear he left behind?

Banned[]
Hexxy told me why you banned me. You know, Fae, that was immature. And this is coming from someone who is right now listening to Super Sentai themes. How in the world is what I did a breakable offence? You know, a week ago, Yuan asked me "Why do you hate Fae?" I said that I don't hate you, it's just that he is greedy with power, and that it's somewhat misdirected. She didn't understand where I was coming from. Now I hope she does.
Whatever your reply was, it was accompanied at some point by calling me an asshole. Which means, this is at least the second time you're caught calling the staff names or insulting them behind their back. Believe me, I know your immaturity goes way beyond liking the Rangers.
Wait, wait... so, calling a staffer a name (which, by the way, was to be a joke) is a breakable offence? What the hell? I thought, as the Staff page says at least once, that Staffers and regular users are equal. By you placing yourself in a platform where we can't playfully call you an asshole, you're making it seem like you think of yourself as most important.
For clarification:
| |||
I don't remember that incident in question. I'm sorry about what I said, Fae. But, I know this won't matter. You and I never got along in the first place. Oh, and by the way, ask Drakey or Hexed if me calling Yuan a "lucky bitch" was out of mean spirit.

Walkthrough Deletion[]
Hey there, I was looking into deleting this FFXII Walkthrough I got about halfway through writing around a year or so ago, and then dropped the project. I actually do plan on restarting it sometime later, but not for a few months, and if possible, I'd like to discard the old one sooner rather than later. I'm not entirely sure how to go about utterly deleting it, especially since it's been a while since I've used any sort of wiki, and my knowledge of all its editing tricks have diminished quite a bit. Not sure if you're the right person to talk to, but might as well ask anyway. Walkthrough: Final Fantasy XII/wee187|Here's the link to it. Thanks so much in advance if you're able to help out. ^_^ wee187 21:50, February 23, 2011 (UTC)
Paramina's Images[]
Thank you for at least taking the time to check our policy. I really appreciate it. We do not allow crops or slight modifications of existing images. Check the third link and recheck the second link. All FF-related content and media that belongs to SE used to illustrate, in an encyclopedic way, an aspect of the series falls under Fair Use and is therefore perfectly acceptable to host. Check the second link once again. If you found that some images were left and some were gone it was because at the time I failed to notice or find all them. If I find them, I must delete them. You're perfectly welcome to use an external service to host the images you want to and link them directly to the Wiki. I will gladly help you to do it should you require any assistance.
Hiya, I noticed you'd removed my ff.net logo, citing copyright violation. Thanks for letting me know, I honestly had no idea I'd done wrong, but I didn't know how else to put the appropriate image in there. If you could tell me how, that would be a big help, and sorry again. Tia-Lewise 10:17, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

Um... kinda slightly yes and no. The images were not created by me, but were found on http://imageboard.neko-sentai.com/ and, at the time of this writing, I think I noted as such with their original locations on the image's file pages (I'm going to go back to them and check them to make sure, and edit them if they aren't to present the source of the image I used). NaharaAbyssea.png and NaharaWHM.jpg were slightly edited by me. --Nahara 23:51, March 2, 2011 (UTC)

Formatting an externally linked image.[]
Image policy says that if a Personal Image (for a User Page) does not match the criteria, that we can upload it to an external image hosting website and link to it from there. However, I give up. I've found no information on how to actually link to an externally hosted image, nor how to format it once you actually do link it it. re-Final Fantasy VII image[]
Technically, I created almost everything on it by using a bunch of lines using Photoshop.. Yes, Cloud, I did not create.. its not like I'm selling the image, I'm not profitting from it either.. I DID READ the Copyright Q&A, I am not breaking any rules for uploading said image.. I am not profitting from it, I created it as Fan Artwork, to put it out there to give hope for those who wish to see a Remake soon... I'm not claiming it as my own rather than Square...
Final Fantasy X-2 Blitzball Players[]
Hey Faethin,
I saw that you recently deleted the page of Pretus, one of the new Luca Goers players on FFX-2, saying it was a minor character and didn't need to be created. However, there are pages for all 60 players available in Blitzball from FFX. Why shouldn't there be pages for the additional FFX-2 players? There are 99 players on FFX-2, but even then, several already have pages, like Beclem, Nhadala, Isaaru, Maroda, Dona, Barthello, Yuna, Rikku, Paine, Buddy, Shinra (I think that's all of them). By my count, that's 11 players that don't even need pages, just stats near the bottom of their pages. so, about 30 (28, to be exact) players need pages, with most of the 99 needing FFX-2 Blitzball stats (which aren't hard to do, since all you have to list is their starting stats and their max stats). With your permission, I would like to do this task. I would simply add the necessary pages so I can give basic information and stats for the new players, as well as add stats for the rest of the players. If not, I request this be done in the future, as FFX-2's Blitzball mini-game, despite being somewhat inferior to FFX's Blitzball, is no less important, as far as Wikia information goes. Thoughts? Wikia.css[]
The classes for D012 and Type0 still don't work on the new "Oasis" skin. Apparently Oasis uses a different CSS file than monobook.
I've located the CSS file on the wiki which I think governs the Oasis skin, and it is MediaWiki:Wikia.css. Since only admins can edit it, could you add the class codes so that the D012 and Type0 classes work on Oasis.
Many thanks. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 20:25, May 21, 2011 (UTC)

Hi There.
Sorry to bother you, but you recently deleted a image which I uploaded. I classed it as Fanart (which it was) and also put down a copyright license. Can you please clarify if there was something missing so that I can reload the image and ensure this misunderstanding never happens again. Concerning Legend of the Crystals[]
Heya Fae. Umh, I am having a question concerning Legend of the Crystals. Over the course of writing the plot synopsis, I noticed that it was getting much too long, possibly because I went too much into depth. Now, my question would be, do the four chapters of this OVA warrant pages of their own, much like the episodes of Unlimited? And if so, would it be sufficient to copy these texts to the respective chapters, and just place a shorter summary on the main article? Or should I just outright shorten it, and not create subpages for the chapters? I figured it'd be best to ask you about this, since you are an admin. MirrorshardSceada 19:44, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
- I think it'd be best to have four separate pages for each one of the OVA's chapters so as to not lose any information. Fëasindë te audio 20:58, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Assistance Requested[]
Regarding the collapsing templates: I'm sorry but I'm not fluent in CSS, which is concerned with collapsing templates. I can tell you, though, that IE8 is known to be far inferior to other browsers such as Firefox or Chrome. My only suggestion is that you drop it in favour of one of those. Regarding user boxes: Again, I'd blame IE8. I always blame IE8 by default: I can see a whole bunch of user templates at the bottom of the screen, separated into different categories by tabs without any problem and I'm currently using Firefox 4. I'm sorry I can't be of any more help besides saying get a different browser.

Policy for music pages re:OCR[]
I've noticed that some of our music pages link to OverClocked ReMixes (or to lists of them), usually in the external links (e.g. J-E-N-O-V-A and Terra), although Dancing Mad has a dedicated section. I was just wondering what criteria determine whether or not a music page gets OCR links. My first thought was that the obvious one would be number of mixes, but there are no links on pages like the Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII (which has a comparable number of mixes to Dancing Mad), Kefka (which doesn't even have a music page – yeah, I know, unlike Terra, it's not a main theme – but has eight mixes; more than J-E-N-O-V-A) or Chocobo's Theme (at least eight mixes over all variants).
I guess I'm just curious -- Sorceror Nobody 16:59, August 5, 2011 (UTC)
- (Kefka has a music page: Kefka (Theme))Keltainentoukokuu 17:16, August 5, 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, so it does. I missed it because it's not in the music navigation template : / Still, that particular correction aside, I see that the page for Kefka's theme has no OCR links, so my point still stands :P -- Sorceror Nobody 17:34, August 5, 2011 (UTC)
- You could just add the links then, seeing as there are no criteria. I don't believe the links were necessarily all added by one person at the same time, but if they were, it was probably just a mistake that some were left out in which case it's an easy fix. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 17:39, August 5, 2011 (UTC)

Afiliacion[]
Buenas! And now, I proceed to talk in english for all those who dont understand the spanish. First all, I apologize for that Griever render little rant. Now, I present myself as one of the current most active staff members of the former Kingdom Hearts Wikia, now named "The Keyhole". As you might now, we had split out five months ago, and since then, there was no real contact between us for the affiliation. So, pardon me if this isnt the place to ask this, but I am not familiarized with this wiki that much and, as far as I know, you are an administrator here.
So, to the point: Will you guys keep affiliated to us, or, instead, will be affiliated with khwiki.net? I would like to add, as well, to make our site more appealing, that unlike our concervationist departed community, we are going through great changes, and are adopting similar politics as this site, and we have a higher number of new members and visitors per day as well, without really losing the quality of our information. So, I hope I can get an aswer from some of you guys soon, as I just felt this should be adressed.
Me disculpo por un discurso tan largo, y espero una respuesta. Atentamente:Dark-EnigmaXIII

Getting a banner for The Keyhole on the front page[]
As has been expressed here, The Keyhole (the Wikia KH Wiki) already has us listed as an affiliate. I believe that us not having kept up our end of the link shows bad faith on our part and I'd like to see it rectified. I realize this revolves around the current discussion, but the consensus seems to be that there's nothing wrong with linking both on our front page regardless of who is linked in our articles, which is not so prevalent that it can't be decided later. I'm sending this out to all active admins in hopes that there will be communication and ultimately a fast result. Bluestarultor BSA 19:24, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
Question about copyright regarding listing dialog[]
I'm interested in making a page which lists all *Field Dialogue in Final Fantasy XIII. I'm nowhere near finished copying all field dialogue from the game (I only have Chapter 11-13) but I do have multiple saves to make it much easier to go back to any previous area in the game.
- Field Dialogue being the small bits of lines characters say while you're on the field (something new to the Final Fantasy series from XIII as far as I know). However since you only have three characters (and usually the leader doesn't talk), that means players can miss some lines of dialogues.
Additionally there are even cases where only the leader talks (in certain cutscenes most noticeably).
So basically the reason is to list quotes from fields the player may have missed out due to using certain characters. Regarding this, this means this mostly affects Chapter 9-10+ (Before those chapters you can't switch characters, so there is technically no dialogue to miss).
Anyway I have three questions:
1. Would it be against copyright to include lots of dialogue that is listed "word for word" from the game? They're just from fields, leader specific cutscenes, and maybe battle quotes too.
2. If it is okay (in terms of copyright), would such an article be allowed? Though take note that I only have Vanille and Fang's quotes and only Chapter 11+ (some of Chapter 11 and most of Chapter 12-13 for Vanille and Fang) currently. I have about 7kb worth of quotes (with comments on when the events occur) in a txt file if you're curious about the amount I have currently. Not much but no where near complete (maybe just 5% complete).
3. Finally if the above two are okay - I'm not sure when I plan to complete it (currently just planning to complete quotes for Vanille + Fang for Chapter 10+). So I have no set date or guarantees on completing it for other characters (so this means the article would be incomplete with just my work.) So would an incomplete article be okay to create?
Anyway thanks in advance for answers and help. Petco 05:58, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
- I'll field you question as best I can.
- 1. - Copyright generally isn't a great concern for us. We have snippets of dialogue quoted all over the Wiki so it wouldn't be a problem here either.
- 2. - This is the only potential issue, we don't really host pages for pure dialogue. There was some discussion over hosting game scripts in the past, but nothing came of it. However, this certainly does not mean you can't create this page, it's just that at the moment we don't have that type of coverage. Alternatively, the information you gather could be added to other pages, for example the dialogue for each location could be added to the location pages themselves in some manner.
- 3. - Not a problem, a lot of projects can take time to complete. For this an easy way to go about things would be to create a sandbox like User:Petco/Sandbox and store your work there, then move it into the main space when it's read.
- Hope this helps. Also thanks for volunteering, large scale projects like what you describe are not often undertaken, especially by comparitively new users. Doreiku Kuroofangu 06:09, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Individual quotes versus entire scripts is quite different though, because individual quotes fall under fair use. Like how Amazon can post an excerpt of a book but not the whole book on their site. Still, GameFAQs and IGN host game scripts, so I think we can do the same.
- I have (written myself) complete FFVII and FFVIII scripts (PC version) I wouldn't mind contributing if we can host game scripts.Keltainentoukokuu 15:22, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks both of you :). I'll finish it up sometime in the future (when? I don't know >.>). I mean I do have some done already (as mentioned with mainly Vanille + Fang in Chapter 11+) but I'll try to get it done sometime really (at least get Chapter 1-13 with at least one set of party). Too bad they don't have something like Dissidia 012 where you can listen to all the characters voice clips or something. Could be implemented as "extras" that you can obtain after completing the game or so but oh well. Also if anyone is curious on how to make the text readable, I set field subtitles on and when any dialogue occurs I press the "Playstation Home" button (this pauses but still makes the text readable). So yeah use Playstation Home to pause it rather than regular pause. Petco Loves Vanille 02:01, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

File:Girl-ffiv-gba.png[]
I have no idea what the above file is, but currently the Girl (Final Fantasy IV 2D) article uses the same image for GBA as it does for SNES and PS. The GBA sprites are minorly (but noticeably) different from the SNES/PS sprites. Why was the image deleted and is it not the GBA sprite facing right? JBed 13:46, November 27, 2011 (UTC)
- The image in question was young Rydia's sprire facing right. It was unused. Fëasindë Peth 17:29, November 27, 2011 (UTC)
- I get the feeling that the image was originally used on the List of IV Enemies article but never made its way to the Girl article and therefore became unused when DS/PSP images replaced it on the List of page. Can you restore the file please? It serves the unique purpose of displaying the sprite of the boss called Girl in the GBA version of FFIV. JBed 20:05, November 27, 2011 (UTC)
On increased access to IRC[]
I've put a login form (which leads to a page using same base as Freenode) on our our IRC project page at the top with the default channel as #FFWiki. Because IRC Chat is in the top navigation now, even anon users have easy access to all of us in the channel should they go looking for it. This was prompted by Bluer's failed experiment of enabling Wikia Chat, which only allows registered users and saw little use and is now disabled again.
This increased access means we're likely to see an influx of new users asking us for real-time help like we saw just now (last night if you're reading this in the morning). I'd hope that our users will step up to the plate better than they did in this instance. If not, well, I guess we'd DESERVE the hit to our image, but it wouldn't make me happy. Tabber function[]
Hello. I tried to move a tabber function on the ru-Final Fantasy Wiki, but it did not work. Please, tell me, what is the mistake. ru:Шаблон:Враги FFIV, ru:MediaWiki:Common.js, ru:MediaWiki:Common.css. Thanks. --Kuzura;Talk 18:29, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
- It works in Monobook. It looks like you copied all our code pretty much verbatim, which should be fine. Did you remember to copy our Wikia.js? Bluestarultor BSA 18:47, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
[[MediaWiki:Wikia.js]] - it is a blank page. I copied MediaWiki:Common.js. Tabber function works in all skins, but not only in the Monobook. --Kuzura;Talk 18:52, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
- My bad. I noticed that when I checked. Although something to keep in mind is that Common code files are only partly applied to Oasis. My next suggestion would be to simply copy all the tabber code into your Wikia pages. See, the import we used here to get the Common.css to work the way it does in Oasis is very touchy and it took JBed a while to figure it out to work correctly. I would say that because the tabber works in Monobook for you, you'll need to look at what's wrong in your Wikia.css. If all else fails, just copy the code over. It shouldn't hurt anything.
