Imperial[]

Actually, in the UK human heights are usually measured in imperial, as are human weights. We also drive in miles-per-hour, which I find odd because the US is supposed to be imperial, but you use kilometres-per-hour. Though admittedly there is no time I am ever taught what the notation for feet and inches in so I can trust you there. 79.69.198.238 21:22, November 20, 2012 (UTC)

Nope, the US uses MPH. As for the UK using imperial, I have never been so I was admittedly talking out of my ass there. It is very interesting to me, though. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 21:27, November 20, 2012 (UTC)
If the US uses MPH then who uses kilometres? I'm fairly sure I always see it on games. Maybe it's just the system they use in competitive races. 79.69.198.238 21:36, November 20, 2012 (UTC)
Canada does, but I don't know. I've seen it in games both ways, with MPH, with KPH, and some games display both. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 21:47, November 20, 2012 (UTC)
AFAIK, most countries do, but not US or UK. C A T U S E 21:42, November 20, 2012 (UTC)
Australia does, for one. That's about all I know on the subject. <Lateandpointless> - BlitzballArtTidus357 05:41, December 9, 2012 (UTC)

Rikku, Paine, and Gullwings topics.[]

Hi.

I copied/pasted the Yuna topic to the other topics because I anticipated the likelihood that the dummied image would be split among the three characters and/or kept together as is, so I wanted to make sure none of the areas were overlooked. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 03:53, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

If you had just left it on the Gullwings page it would have been fine. Splitting discussions like that makes it very hard to keep track of who says what if all of the discussions start branching out. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 03:54, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
Okay. Learned my lesson. Sigh, so what's the verdict? Should they be uploaded? I'm not going to upload them myself, but someone else might, so I figured I'd ask, regarding that inevitability. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 04:26, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
If no one uploads them, no one uploads them. If they're really that controversial, no big loss. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 04:27, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
It's more my religious principles that keep me hesitant, rather than any controversy of the images themselves. Nonetheless, I guess if they don't upload it, it/they won't. Then again, other users might upload it/them after making the necessary cuts. Who knows. The dummied data has no naughty bits, not even nipples, so I doubt it'd break too many NSFW rules on the wikia if someone were to upload it. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 04:36, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
You've mentioned your religious beliefs on nearly every post related to this discussion. I get it. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 05:02, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

Paine article[]

Firstly, the coding for Paine's infobox is old, because when we don't have things in templates they don't get fixed when everything else does. Secondly, I don't know what is up with the Blitzball tables, but that's not how wiki formats tables.

How is the infobox "old"? Is it missing something I am unaware of? It is not templated because it is the only page that needs that infobox. Why create a template for one page use? And I doubt updation is really an issue as there is no Final Fantasy X-3 or such that would require additional maintenance for the table.
Also, please explain your dislike for the Blitzball table, and how you think this is not how wiki formats it (even though it is obvious on the wiki, been on the wiki for a while, and is being used in all the relevent pages without fuss). Netherith (talk) 07:58, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

Welp Neth, I didn't write that, JBed did. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 08:28, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
Sigh, my apologies. This is why people need to log in when commenting. Netherith (talk) 09:42, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

Vanille images.[]

Hi.

Nevereth pretty much stated that you should revive the uncensored Vanille image, and that you should delete the barbie sensor image. I was wondering when you're going to do it? Weedle McHairybug (talk) 04:29, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

I can't because I'm not an admin. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 04:35, February 2, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, in that case, that's good to know. Only asked because that seemed like a loose end. At least that loose end is tied up. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 11:45, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

Delete template[]

Assuming you intended to use the Delete template (although most of the images seem like speedy delete candidates, and thus would instead require SD), the template has a timestamp field and should be used to make it easier to monitor how long an item has been discussed for deletion. 79.69.192.72 20:25, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Since I was coordinating this with Jimcloud on IRC for her to delete them as soon as I mark them, I didn't really find this necessary. Nor would I find the timestamp field necessary for SD anyways, which is what I probably should have marked them as. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 21:06, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

LP Recording[]

It will be on Sunday, somewhere from 8 to 10 PM. Just letting you know now so that you have a bit of leeway. ScatheMote 03:04, February 16, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry for the mistake. Thanks for you and Kelt that moved it to the appropriate place. JC Holy Knight (talk) 03:02, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

Newb question[]

Hey there, I was wondering how can I do this collapsed thing on the userpage for some parts? It certainly makes it easier on the eye. SetzerLeonhart (talk) 22:54, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

This is my personal box, if you want it.

It's not baseless.[]

Kefka being implied to be a pyromaniac is not baseless, as his behavior is shown in-game as indicative of such. What else can you call telling your brainwashed heroine to burn fifty of your finest soldiers alive while reacting with ecstasy, attempting to have a castle (Figaro) burn to the ground, ordering a town burned down because it was "too boring and not enough burning," (ESPECIALLY that one) causing countless devastation, including having a lot of fires spew forth due to misaligning the Warring Triad, and incinerating towns and people with the light of judgment?

What would be baseless speculation (literally), however, would be claiming that Kefka was a girl, since there's zero evidence to him being one, and in fact 100% of the evidence is against that speculatory remark.

And just so you're aware, the fact that it was in-game IS an official source in itself. And besides, technically, Kefka creating monsters to defend his tower was not mentioned in any sources, either, yet the implication was still present in-game, so if that counts, so does this. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, really. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 03:28, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

I didn't say it was baseless, I said it was your conclusion as opposed to a developer statement or something else official. For all we know Kefka defaults to fire because it's the most destructive power available to him at the time. We can't imply Kefka is a pyromaniac anymore than we can imply Laguna has a really good hairstylist. Also, I'll thank you not to blatantly revert every time you get reverted, I believe you were warned in past about doing that more than once. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 03:41, June 7, 2013 (UTC)
The "finest soldiers" part is Ted Wosley original creation (SNES/PSX), to quote Banon in the GBA: "I also heard that she wiped out fifty Imperial soldiers in mere minutes..." Also, the enemies during that scene are merely Imperial Soldier (youtube it), the weakest of soldier type. Nothing special about them, check the bestiary for them on this wiki. Fenrir9 (talk) 03:44, June 7, 2013 (UTC)
Um, yeah, that's not relevant at all, because if Weedle had a point (and as already shown, he doesn't), it wouldn't matter what type of soldier was set on fire, really. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 03:47, June 7, 2013 (UTC)
"The 'finest soldiers' part is Ted Woosley original creation (SNES/PSX),"
Finest, not finest, doesn't matter, the important point was that Kefka ordered for Terra to burn fifty of them alive. Besides, the flashback was in monochrome, so we don't even know what color they were supposed to be (Brown's weaker, Green's elite, and Black's commanding officer).
And the problem is that Magitek Armors have a variety of attacks, namely beams and some physical attacks, not just fire. Duel Armor even uses Megashock (an Electric-based attack, as can be inferred from the name) as an attack, so its not like fire was the only one it has access to especially regarding destructive output. Heck, the physical attacks alone would probably have bulldozed the entire town with minimum effort required. Plus, Kefka's specific reason for having Thamasa burned down was that it "was too boring and not enough burning," making it explicitly clear that he wanted more burning out of it. That's the type of comment an arsonist would make. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 04:08, June 7, 2013 (UTC)
I'm quite certain I've said that too, but I haven't set anything on fire yet. Look, we are here to state the facts. "Facts" does not include creating conclusions where there are other valid interpretations. Besides, if he really were a pyromaniac, I'd say he wasn't using enough fire. Leo and Gesthal were noticeably not on fire when Kefka killed them. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 04:47, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

EDIT CONFLICT: I know Some Color Mage, plus Ted Wolsey's line shouldn't be used because he change lots of things from the original Japanese version and they are obsolete by the new translation which is more accurate to the original source. So I jump in when I saw what was posted. Also, that scene didn't have the same meaning for me so I replied very poorly. For me, this scene was the fact that Kefka was over excited that he (finally?) got Terra under his thumb, and was quite happy in controlling her and making her do everything that he desired without Terra questioning him, essentially making Terra his puppet. Making her a living killing machine that wouldn't question his order(s) nor have any remorse or feelings about her action(s). Who wouldn't be happy? Biggs and Wedge mention right at the start of the game they could order her not to breath if they so desired to, or something involve with her breathing or not breathing. The color doesn't matter, their name says it all; Imperial Soldier. What else is there to it. Monochrome or not, those soldiers have the brown colored palette slap on them, same as the Imperial Soldier you can fight, hell they even share the same name as those you fight also. I also know that they have 1 HP, 50 MP, all stats set to 1 except for evasion and magic evasion are set to 0, have a permanent Sleep and Stop status on them, immune to all status effects except for the beneficial statuses, and have no AI script whatsoever. As for her burning 50 soldiers, I put it down as a mere rumor since its mentioned only once by Biggs/Wedge and Banon without the burning. Now, who is telling the true? We don't know and we'll never know. I don't see any evidence of Kefka being a pyromaniac, he poison Doma's citizen and their prisoners, and threw Gesthal off the Floating Continent and outright killed Leo. No fire involve. Archive box image[]

That is a very... Nice picture you have there. May I ask where you got it, and what's it about? :P - BlitzballArtTidus357 04:08, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

It's a piece I commissioned a few years back from a somewhat well-known deviantArt user named NeKoChAnK of one of my original characters. I might update it with a newer piece that she did for me. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 04:36, June 7, 2013 (UTC)

Signature[]

Hello. Since the wiki uses HTML, and the font tag is unsupported by W3C standards, there is a chance that browsers will drop support of it.

I hope it wouldn't be too much to ask to change your signature to the below:

<span style="color:black">+Deadly</span><span style="color:indigo">Slash</span><span style="color:black">Sword+</span>

If I happen to come across old versions of your signature while I'm editing a page, I'll update the code (by magic) then. But I mainly want to stop the proliferation of deprecated tags. JBed (talk) 18:09, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

I'm a bit hesitant to, if only because I'm not good with coding at all, and the font tag is easy for me to remember and use. Not so for span style, which I have no idea how it works. Would I have to update the rest of my templates as well? Everything I have uses the font tags, and it would be more difficult for me to update them using a tag I don't know how to use. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 05:15, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
If templates use them then they can remain the same, if only because if there ever is an issue with the font tag they can be easily fixed, with all their uses immediately being updated. Signatures are transcluded into the page so the continuing usage will only make the problem worse.
But while the font tag is perhaps easier to use for the regular person, if people only ever see the span tag and its attributes, then they will learn this way, the more acceptable way, and continually supported way. If they know nothing of font, all they will know is span.
So yeah, you really don't have to update anything except your signature. If I see something else that needs updating then I will update it.
And just a quick explanation:
<span style="[styles]"></span>
.....
color:[font color];
font-family:[font-face-- the type, like Arial];
font-size: [the size. must be in px, em, pt, or % though. these are all more logical than using the font tag's size system];
Easy. Also since it's all CSS, it's more compatible with what the rest of the wiki is using, and other styles can also be used in the same tag. JBed (talk) 13:13, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for that, it's been updated. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 20:12, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

MM3[]

Hey Slash, just wanted to know if you had any preference for when you want MM3 to start, as we've got almost everything ready to go and Scathe and I are ready to start whenever, so it's your call now. If you have any ideas for changes to the fight template Scathe made, that would also be helpful. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 00:12, July 1, 2013 (UTC)

Tables look good and I'm ready to go whenever. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 04:48, July 1, 2013 (UTC)

Image widths shouldn't be wider than 160px in these three-way brackets. While you aren't breaking the voting columns, you can clearly tell that the image boxes are off. JBed (talk) 16:19, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Walkthrough deletions[]

We're currently going through and deleting incomplete walkthroughs on the wiki, and weren't sure if you were going to finish yours. Your walkthrough won't be deleted if either a) you edit within a week or b) it's moved to userspace. Thanks, C A T U S E 05:34, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

I posit that it should stay until an English release is officially ruled out by SE. I plan to write it if and when Type-0 is released in English, and due to no other walkthrough having this language barrier situation, I ask to be granted additional time until the situation regarding the release overseas is decided upon officially. Thanks. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 06:54, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

Walkthrough[]

Hi, just thought I should let you know that while we're still considering your Type-0 walkthrough exempt from deletion, due to there being an official English version out for about 10 months now, we're probably gonna remove that exemption soon. So if you want to keep it around, I recommend that you start it or move it to your userspace. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 00:25, January 31, 2016 (UTC)

Walkthrough cleanup[]

Hey there! The FFWiki admins are looking to clean up old, abandoned walkthroughs, and you have not touched your Type-0 walkthrough since the game came out in English a few years ago. Would you like us to move it to your userspace or just have it deleted? Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 23:41, June 7, 2020 (UTC)
