Not so long ago, here in the shadow of the northern ranges, lay the great Kingdom of Voeburt. A nation with a proud history...that the sin eaters cut short. Just like all the rest. Since that time, these lands have become a haven for fae folk. Dreamers frolicking amidst the ruins of a forgotten realm.
Il Mheg, also known as the Fairy Kingdom or Kingdom of Rainbows (虹の国, Niji no Kuni?), is a region located in the north of Norvrandt in Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. Geographically, it is the First's counterpart to the region of Coerthas in the Source.
Profile[]
Tucked away in the mountains, this enchanted land was once home to the Kingdom of Voeburt. When men abandoned it following the Flood of Light, it instead became the home of the fae folk, the playful and childlike pixies chief among them.

Story[]
After rescuing the current Oracle of Light from the clutches of the Eulmoran Army and reuniting with Thancred, the Warriors of Darkness head to the realm of Il Mheg to locate Urianger and gain his assistance in slaying the region's Lightwarden.
The fae who occupy the realm take a fondness to tricking the Warriors of Darkness, playing games with them and twisting promises around so that they leave their playmates with few answers to their questions. Upon realizing that the Warrior of Darkness is 'taken' by the temperamental pixie Feo Ul, the pixies concede to helping the mortals with solving the issue of the nearby Lightwarden: their former king Titania, whom they locked in the castle to spare the region from their corruption of Light. In order to break the seal and confront the tormented king, the Warrior of Light travels to each major settlement of faefolk in order to obtain the valuables that serve as the locks: glass slippers, a crown, a scepter, and the king's robes.
The Nu mou of Pla Enni assist the Warrior of Light, after Urianger uses their innate desire of assisting mortals against them to make the Nu mou comply with their request. So too do the sentient Amaro of Wolekdorf, led by one Amaro named Seto, who is recognized by the spirit of Ardbert as his former travelling companion years ago before his death. Seto warns the Warrior of Darkness of the mischievous Fuath, who will prove to be the most challenging of the fae in releasing the crown. Beset by a vision of the furious king, the Warrior of Darkness takes their companious through Dohn Mheg, where Aenc Thon and his court of Fuath await.
With the valuables collected, the Warrior of Darkness plans to confront Titania, just as Ran'jit and his army attack Il Mheg. Unable to be tricked by the playful pixies, Ran'jit threatens the settlement, spurring the Warrior of Darkness to hurry. Within The Dancing Plague they fight Titania, who beckons them to "play with [us]". After their defeat, the Warrior of Darkness clears the skies of Il Mheg of everlasting Light, and Feo Ul crowns themself the new king Titania, summoning the other fae folk to fly to Lydha Lran and force Ran'jit and his remaining soldiers from the region.
With night returned to Il Mheg, the faefolk join their new king to thank the Warriors of Darkness, promising to assist them whenever called upon.

Places of interest[]
Lyhe Ghiah[]
The castle at the centre of Il Mheg. In the time of Voeburt, it was known as Grünes Licht and was the home of the royal family. In the time of the Fae, it serves a similar purpose as where the Fae king Titania resides to monitor their realm.
Lyhe Mheg[]
A realm of dreams created by the Dreamspinners, a group of pixies that have taken upon themselves the task of keeping the dreams of mortal children free of anguish.
Activities[]
Duties[]
Dohn Mheg |
Your quest to gain entry to Lyhe Ghiah and vanquish the Lightwarden sealed within has brought you to the domain of the water-bound Fuath, bearers of one of the four fae relics that comprise the key to the castle. The creatures agree to yield to you their relic, the shell crown, but in exchange they demand of you what they call “thrilling sport.” In order to fulfill your side of the bargain, you and your comrades sally forth into a realm of illusion as treacherous and unpredictable as its denizens... |
dancing plague |
The white dress, the shell crown, the stone scepter, the crystal shoes... Having acquired the four fae relics through considerable effort, you now stand ready to break the seal over Lyhe Ghiah and confront the Lightwarden of Il Mheg─the fallen faerie king, Titania. Yet even as you hunt the sin eater, you are in turn hunted by the forces of Eulmore, who have thrown all caution to the wind and march resolutely on the faerie kingdom... |
dancing plague extreme |
Since the great sundering of the Source, life on the resulting shards was free to grow and evolve independent of outside influence. And yet, perhaps as an indication of a greater plan or a higher purpose, a series of coincidences occurred over the long years and centuries and millennia, resulting in the birth of certain individuals with no particular relation who are nevertheless eerily similar in every respect.
Indeed, the minstreling wanderer has as powerful and vivid an imagination as any soul of the Source, and after listening attentively to your tale of Titania, he has composed a ballad that would move a man with a heart of stone to weep bitterly, and a Warrior of Darkness to walk in memories of a terrible trial, albeit one somewhat enhanced and embellished. As is a minstrel's wont. |

Name | Level | Location | Time limit | Objective |
---|---|---|---|---|
Description Spawn conditions (if any) | ||||
Mad Magic | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x10 y35) | 15 minutes | Defeat Samyaza. |
Through a magical process that might charitably be described as “experimental,” several pixies have created a psammead of unusual size. And murderousness. | ||||
Bear Necessities | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x17 y35) | 15 minutes | Defeat the ravenous rosebears. |
A sleuth of rosebears have come searching for sweet morsels of sheep flesh. Drive them off before they decimate the pixies' domesticated flock. | ||||
Weave 'Em and Weep | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x8 y31) | 15 minutes | Defeat the riot baskets. |
In an unfortunately all-too-common case of pixie magic gone wrong, a simple pollination spell has resulted in the abrupt and excessive proliferation of flower baskets. They will need to be culled before any further breeding occurs. | ||||
Locus Terribilis | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x10 y29) | 15 minutes | Defeat Necropsyche. |
The irismoth Necropsyche has come to feast on the sweet nectar of Il Mheg's flowers─which would be a tolerable state of affairs if she weren't a giant irismoth. As it is, she stands to drain all the area's blossoms of liquid and life before she has finished breakfast. | ||||
Twice Upon a Time | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x7 y19) | 15 minutes | Deliver pots of golden nectar to the nectar-seeking pixie. |
A land of eternal spring is all well and good, but it does come with the ever-present possibility of being menaced by bees. This is, in fact, why gathering nectar is one of the less popular assignments a pixie can receive, and help would doubtless be appreciated.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Hedge Mazed | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x6 y27) | 15 minutes | Defeat the capering pixies. |
A few hapless souls in search of medicinal herbs have entered pixie territory, and are now in danger of being permanently transformed into ornamental shrubbery. While doubtless hilarious to the fae residents of Il Mheg, this is probably not in the mortals' best interest. | ||||
Thrice Upon a Time | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x13 y23) | 15 minutes | Defeat Rukh. |
As if the feral anemones and murderous bees weren't enough, a vicious bird of prey has descended upon the nectar-seeking pixie. They can, of course, take comfort in the fact that all of this will make for an amusing fireside tale─assuming they survive.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Once Upon a Time | 72-76 | Timh Gyeus (x10 y23) | 15 minutes | Defeat the aggrieved anemones. |
The sweet nectar of Il Mheg's blossoms is coveted by many a species, not excepting the aggressively territorial anemone─an unfortunate reality that the pixie charged with collecting this moon's supply of the stuff is now discovering firsthand.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Frog Standard | 73-77 | Voeburtenburg (x23 y10) | 15 minutes | Defeat the Fuath shades. |
Given their own willful nature, to annoy a pixie is no small feat. The Daen twins seem to be managing it, however. Someone really ought to intervene before matters escalate and innocent bystanders are magicked into shrubbery...or worse. | ||||
Brute Fuath | 73-77 | Mithai Glorianda (x25 y21) | 15 minutes | Help Ul An of the Lost Spring defeat Daens Lor and Wyd. |
Once they find a suitably entertaining pastime, the Daens are loath to let it go. Instead, they prefer to raise the stakes─or at least their stature.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Breaking the Fuath Wall | 73-77 | Timh Gyeus (x8 y14) | 15 minutes | Help Ul An of the Lost Spring defeat Daens Lor and Wyd. |
For the next round of bloody sport, the Daens have elected to work in tandem─if not as themselves. If you can't beat 'em...at least keep them occupied.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Go Fuath a Conqueror | 73-77 | Voeburtenburg (x20 y10) | 15 minutes | Help Ul An of the Lost Spring defeat the Daens. |
Still transparently enjoying the conflict, the Daens have donned their most ferocious guise yet. Intimidating as this may be, to show hesitation will only encourage them─fearless engagement is the only option.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Fuath to Be Reckoned With | 73-77 | Voeburtenburg (x32 y5) | 15 minutes | Help Ul An of the Lost Spring defeat the Daens. |
In a final gleeful gambit, the Daens have transformed themselves into a hulking behemoth. Perhaps indulging them one last time will satisfy their desire to revel in chaos.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Great Daens | 73-77 | Voeburtenburg (x27 y9) | 15 minutes | Help the equable amaro defeat the elder glider. |
The Daen brothers get along famously─with each other, of course, not anyone else─in large part due to their shared hobbies. This would be heartwarming, did said hobbies not include setting elder gliders upon innocent amaro.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Fuath of Habit | 73-77 | Voeburtenburg (x30 y13) | 15 minutes | Protect the herb caskets from the Fuath shades. |
The fae penchant for mischief covers everything from harmless pranks to active cruelty, and none are less likely to make any sort of distinction between the two than the Daen twins, who have now chosen to harry a hapless herbalist.
Spawn conditions:
| ||||
Back and Fuath | 73-77 | The Silent Cliffs (x24 y17) | 15 minutes | Help Ul An of the Lost Spring defeat the dreaming rowans. |
Piquing the Daens' curiosity is never, strictly speaking, a good idea, but interfering with their mischief is a sure way to do so. Thus has the interference of martially inclined wanderers and one very tenacious pixie prompted them to devise a fantastical means of testing their would-be challengers.

Elite Marks[]
Mark | Hunt | Description |
---|---|---|
B | Domovoi |
"Oh, that's a sad tale, it is. There was this pixie who couldn't bear to be without company, you see, and so it used its magicks to fashion a constant companion─Domovoi. It was a construct loyal as they come, bound to serve its master forever and ever and ever...until the little pixie crossed paths with a sin eater. No one knows how long it's been since Domovoi was deprived of its master and meaning, but it still wanders Il Mheg, searching in vain for the one who gave it life." |
B | Vulpangue |
“Never heard of Vulpangue? Tales of its exploits were recorded in the annals of the Kingdom of Voeburt. Their naturalists described it as a serpent of unusual size that was rather docile that subsisted on a diet of bugs and butterflies... But do not be deceived, for the creature fellow Nutters observed was anything but docile! Nay, it was both swift and ruthless when it spied a poor pixie out on a midday stroll and snatched it out of the air, swallowing it with a single gulp! One of the fae folk, brimming with all kinds of powerful magicks, gobbled up in a flash! No common beast could do that, could they? Could they!?" |
A | O Poorest Pauldia |
“About a year ago it was when a party of scavengers ventured into ruins of old Voebert and discovered a hidden passage that led deep underground to a secret gaol, and in one of its cells found a horrible beast bound in chains. A name had been carved into a sign: Pauldia. The same name as the younger princess. Nearer to the fiend, writ in blood on the walls, was a message... Blinded by my lust for the throne, I heeded a traitor's honeyed words. I was a pawn in his grand design and paid the price. I beg only for the selfsame mercy my sister received...” |
A | The Mudman |
“So the pixies are no strangers to mischief. Their penchant for transforming lost travelers and trespassers into leafmen is known by all. Well, one day, this particular pixie decides to try and work their fae magicks on a particular leafman to try and make something new, and the result? The mudman, a heretofore unseen abomination, is born. Why mud? No idea. I'm told the victim was originally a portly Mystel woman─not that you could tell by the look of it now. Still, that crimson pixie that frequents the Crystarium has been known to embellish their stories from time to time...” |
S | Aglaope |
“Aglaope's tale is quite old─a popular parable of the Voeburtites. It's about a tiny pixie of surpassing beauty that loved to bask in the midday sun, whose voice was as the tinkling of bells...and another pixie that envied them so. Said pixie wanted nothing more than to transform themselves into the spitting image of the object of their admiration, and so they used their magicks again and again and again to refine their own appearance, until eventually, they had achieved the impossible. If the story ended here I suppose it wouldn't be so bad, but it doesn't. For you see, when the glamoured pixie's “friends” saw what they'd done to themselves, they erupted into uncontrollable laughter. They mocked the pixie terribly, calling them ugly and terrifying beyond belief. Thus was the pixie Aglaope instilled with a terrible hatred and envy for all things small and beautiful, and ever after did they roam the land in search of little wonders to destroy with impunity.” |
