The gauntlets below add an element to the wearer's physical attacks, on top of whatever element the character might already have on their equipped weapon. This means that there is a potential of inflicting physical attacks of more than one element, if the wearer is also equipped with a weapon of a different element.
The wearer will not necessarily be inflicting all the equipped elements simultaneously in their attacks. The type of element chosen for the attack will depend on the elemental vulnerability of the target receiving the damage. The following list displays the element given priority when determining damage, in a descending order.
- Vulnerable → Absorb → Immune → Resist → Neutral
In the case of equipping a weapon and an accessory granting the same element, the wearer will be awarded additional levels of elemental attack from the combined levels granted by both. The following list displays the effects of increased damage with higher levels of elemental attacks, in an ascending order (on the condition of exploiting elemental vulnerability).
- 125% damage → 150% damage → 200% damage → 275% damage
The effects granted by these gauntlets—as well as those from the wearer's equipped elemental weapons—will be suppressed and overwritten so long as the abilities Magic Sword and Mystic Sword are in effect.

The capes below grant the wearer a level of resistance from attacks of a specific element, on top of whatever element the character might already be resisting as granted by their equipped shield. This means that there is a potential of resisting of more than one element, if the wearer is also equipped with a shield of a different element.
In the case of equipping a shield and a cape of the same element, the wearer will be awarded additional levels of elemental resistance from the combined resistance granted by both. The following list displays the effects of increased protection with higher levels of elemental resistance, in an ascending order.

As there are no shields or armors that grant resistance to status ailments (bar the fabled Shield of Light, which grant resistance to all), the only option the player has is either to have a character resist to one particular status ailment or to all status ailments available in the game, with the latter only attainable by equipping either the aforementioned Shield of Light, or the Ribbon accessory.
