Ruby Ring in Final Fantasy Record Keeper.
A ring imbedded with a ruby letting out an unusual brilliance. The ruby is as hard as a diamond and very difficult to nick or shape. Each gem holds different properties, but they are favored for use in fashion items rather than wards, and among them, rings are very popular with many of the ladies. Rubies are often associated with the qualities of passion, pure love, valor, and grace.

The Ruby Ring (ルビーのゆびわ or ルビーの指輪, Rubī no Yubiwa?) is a recurring armor or accessory in the Final Fantasy series. Its purpose has varied from protecting against status effects, to boosting stats, to buffing the equipped character.

Final Fantasy IV[]
The Ruby Ring provides 3 Magic Defense, no change in Evasion (though the 3D-exclusive version grants 10 Evasion), 2 Magic Evasion, and resistance against the Pig status. It is initially equipped on Edward. It can be bought for 1,000 gil in Troia, found in Mist, and Troia Castle, or dropped by Lamia and Lamia Matriarch.
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-[]
The Ruby Ring provides 3 Magic Defense, 2 Magic Evasion, and resists the Pig status. It is initially equipped by Rydia, and additional Ruby Rings can be bought for 1,000 gil in Damcyan and Fabul. The hidden Developer's Office also holds a Ruby Ring.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]
Ruby Ring protects against Pig. It provides 3 Magic Defense, 2 Magic Evasion%, and no change to Defense and Evasion%. It can be bought in Mythril, Agart, Troia, Lodestone Cavern (Palom's Tale) and Mysidia for 1,000 gil, dropped by Lamia and Lamia Matriarch, and found in Mythril (Ceodore's Tale), the Castle Waterway (Palom's Tale), and Palom's Challenge Dungeon.
Final Fantasy X[]
The Ruby Ring is exclusive to Yuna. It has four Magic Defense% abilities, altogether raising it by 38%, and as such can be created directly from a Tetra Ring, which has four empty slots.
Final Fantasy XI[]
Ruby Ring is a ring that provides +4 STR and +9 Fire Resistance. It can be equipped at level 72 by all jobs. It can be obtained from a Tenshodo Coffer using an Ebon Key in the "Ode of Life Bestowing" quest.
Final Fantasy XII[]
Ruby Ring replaces the more commonly seen Reflect Ring as the accessory to generate a constant Reflect status. In the original version, Ruby Ring is found in Accessories 12 on the License Board and costs 60 LP to use. It can be bought for 8,500 gil at the Phon Coast and Mt Bur-Omisace and also stolen from Judge Bergan (10%).
In the Zodiac versions, Ruby Ring is found as a treasure in the Stilshrine of Miriam (Walk of Prescience), Pharos - First Ascent (They Who Thirst Not), Subterra (Abyssal - North) and in Trial Mode Stage 78 & 91 (with the Diamond Armlet equipped), stolen from Judge Bergan (10% chance), and from the Hunt Club sidequest.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Ruby Ring is a 
Ring useable by all combat disciplines, though it is best suited to 
Paladins, 
Warriors, 
Dark Knights, 
Dragoons, 
Monks, and 
Samurai. It can be crafted by 
Goldsmiths using rare materials.

Etymology[]
A ruby is a pink to blood-red colored gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum (aluminium oxide). It is the birthstone for July.
