Chainsaw is an ability usable by Edgar once the Chainsaw item has been obtained and is in the player's inventory. It deals physical damage to one opponent with an attack power of 252, is unblockable, and ignores defense. It has 25% chance of inflicting death instead of dealing damage and works against undead enemies, but fails on targets immune to death. The death attack is considered a magical attack.
When the Chainsaw's Death attack is used, Edgar and Gogo don a hockey goalie's mask in similar fashion to Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th.

A chainsaw or chain saw is a portable, mechanical saw powered by electricity, compressed air, hydraulic power, or most commonly a gasoline two-stroke engine.
While localized as Chainsaw, the ability's Japanese name sometimes translates to spinning saw, and it is often as a circular saw rather than a chainsaw.
