The Moonlight Altar is a subregion of the Lands Between in Elden Ring. It is located above Liurnia of the Lakes and can only be accessed after considerably advancing Ranni the Witch's questline.
Overview[]
A plateau on the east side of Liurnia bathed in the light of the Dark Moon.[1] It is accessible only by passing through Ainsel River and the Lake of Rot and defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. The lift which leads to the Moonlight Altar is sealed, and can only be accessed by obtaining the Dark Moon Ring from the treasure chest in Rennala's library in the Academy of Raya Lucaria.
The plateau, which sits above the Village of the Albinaurics, is the site of the Cathedral of Manus Celes, a large, ruined church. The Ringleader's Evergaol, housing the ringleader of the Black Knife Assassins, can also be found here.
