History[]
Corvus was born inside the Human Kingdoms on November 3rd,[1] and grew up in a border forest of Katolis, where he would often sleep underneath trees.[2] After signing up for duty, he became a seasoned veteran and tracker in the Standing Battalion, lending his tracking skills as a valuable asset, and became a part of the most trusted troops.[3] Despite General Amaya providing a bed to sleep in for him, he would often continue to sleep out in nature, as he had grown fond of the autumn trees during his life.[2] He also led all the songs in Camp Katolis.[4]
First Saga[]
Corvus was hired by General Amaya to track down Callum and Ezran after they had set off with Rayla, and followed the princes as they made the journey throughout the kingdom of Katolis.[5] Corvus eventually got into a skirmish with Rayla, and she was able to defeat him despite his taunts.[6]
Corvus eventually caught up with Team Zym at the top of the Cursed Caldera, where he would hinder Claudia and Soren from harming the princes.[7] After being captured by the siblings, he remained their prisoner until he was eventually freed by Soren to assist him in evacuating the residents of a town that had been attacked by Pyrrah, a Fire Dragon that Soren had started a fight with.[8] Near the town, he located Ezran and requested of him to return to his throne, accidentally revealing to him that King Harrow had been slain.[9] Ezran eventually agreed with Corvus, and alongside Bait, they parted ways with Callum, Rayla, and Zym. Corvus also helped Ezran in giving Zym a telepathic encouragement to fly after sensing Callum and Rayla in danger.[10]
On the back of Banthers, Corvus, Ezran, and Bait eventually arrived in Katolis,[11] and Corvus stayed with Ezran while he tried to adjust to his new role as King of Katolis.[12] Corvus acted as his staunchest defender every time Prince Kasef of Neolandia became too aggressive in asking Ezran for either an alliance or a war between Katolis and the other Human Kingdoms.[13] Corvus was displeased when Ezran chose to abdicate his throne to protect Katolis, but he respected the choice that his king made.[14] After Ezran gave up his crown and was imprisoned, Corvus assisted Soren in helping Ezran to follow his friends to Xadia.[15] In the end, Corvus joined the battle against Viren's forces at the Storm Spire and witnessed Zubeia's awakening from her deep slumber together with the rest of his allies.[16]
After peace had returned to the world, Corvus was often challenged by Soren to perform strange workouts, such as races to the top of the castle towers. Despite finding these challenges annoying now and then, Corvus entertained his friend as he knew that Soren was still suffering from the loss of both Viren and Claudia. Based on the trust they had built, Soren invited Corvus to join the Crownguard. Corvus joined under the condition that he would receive a personalized piece of armor.[2]
Second Saga[]
Corvus became an official member of the Katolian Crownguard and the High Council two years after the battle at the Storm Spire. He and Soren did their best to keep Callum in the dark about the new High Mage's surprise birthday party until Callum discovered it himself.[17] After Ezran announced Zubeia and Zym's visit to Katolis, Corvus correctly guessed that the event was both a path to build everlasting peace with Xadia as well as an excuse for the young king to reunite with the Dragon Prince.[18] During the festivities that celebrated Zubeia's visit to Katolis, Corvus volunteered to use a cello to play a song that he composed called "A Song of Love and Loss" after Ezran made a speech about achieving peace after a long history of violence and hatred.[19] After Ibis's message about Aaravos's potential return interrupted the ceremony, Corvus provided Ezran with his backpack as Team Zym decided to join the dragons on their new quest.[20]
Corvus accompanied Ezran, Zym, Soren, and Zubeia in meeting with Domina Profundis, the Archdragon of the Ocean who knew about the true nature of Aaravos's prison.[21] He and Soren then watched Ezran rehearsing for the big speech he would make for his big meeting with the dragons of Xadia.[22] Corvus and the rest of Ezran's group were delighted when the dragons agreed to help them in locating Claudia and Viren before they could free Aaravos.[23] He also joined Ezran's group in rescuing Amaya, Callum, Rayla, Bait, and Stella from the corrupted Banthers in Lux Aurea. When one of the corrupted Banthers bit Zubeia's left flank, Corvus swung down and shoved the beast off, which resulted in him falling down and injuring himself. Corvus and Amaya succeeded in surviving the onslaught of corrupted Banthers by taking shelter inside the book drop of the Great Bookery as Team Zym flew to the Storm Spire.[24] With Amaya's help, Corvus managed to reach the Sunfire Elf camp where they reunited with Gren and Kazi shortly after Kim'dael had abducted Janai.[25] Upon being given a crutch to help him walk, Corvus immediately tried to track down Kim'dael and Janai to no avail. Amaya and Gren advised Corvus to rest and heal just as Pharos arrived at the camp to deliver Karim's ultimatum.[26] Although Amaya was able to rescue Janai, the dejected Corvus, Gren, and Kazi were forced to notify them that Miyana had defected to Karim's side.[27]
Corvus eventually recovered from his injury and did not hesitate in helping Zym, Soren, Pyrrah, and Hat track down the missing Zubeia before finding her being under the care and protection of the Earthblood Elf Mukho and the Mushpals of Fungi Lane.[4] Corvus, Zym, Soren, Pyrrah, and Hat eventually returned to Katolis after Ezran had imprisoned Viren in the dungeon.[28] Corvus played his cello at Amaya and Janai's wedding before standing by Ezran's side as the young king attempted to parley for peace with Karim. Upon realizing that Karim intended to unleash Sol Regem on Janai's army, Corvus, Zym, and Aanya worked together to protect Ezran from the renegade Sunfire Elves. However, Sol Regem did not arrive to aid Karim's army because Aaravos manipulated the Archdragon into attacking Katolis instead.[29]
Book One - Moon[]
Bloodthirsty[]
Corvus is instructed by Amaya and Gren to track down Callum and Ezran, believing that Rayla would kill the princes if she noticed an entire troop following her.
Through the Ice[]
Corvus successfully tracks down Team Zym but is alerted to Rayla's attention when he steps on a twig. The two have a brief scuffle, with Corvus nearly trapping Rayla twice. Corvus orders that she frees Callum and Ezran but Rayla tells him that they chose to come with her and that they are friends. Corvus denies this by reminding her about King Harrow's death at Runaan's hand. Then he realizes that the princes do not know about their father's death and warns Rayla that Callum and Ezran will hate her when they find out. Rayla throws Corvus in a ditch and he promises that he will come back.
Book Two - Sky[]
Smoke and Mirrors[]
Corvus interrupts Claudia's dark magic spell and allows Rayla, Callum, Ezran, Bait, and Zym to escape on Phoe-Phoe. In doing so, he himself is captured. Soren accuses Corvus of being a traitor, but he objects, saying that since he and Claudia tried to capture the princes, they are the traitors. He tells them about his mission but they deny it.
Fire and Fury[]
Corvus is being held captive by Soren and Claudia who plan to arrest him. When they notice Pyrrah flying above the village, Corvus pleads to Soren not to attack the dragon, realizing that she is only intimidating them. Soren ignores him and shoots at the Fire Dragon. Provoked into battle, Pyrrah starts setting fire around the village, forcing Soren and Claudia to free Corvus so that he can take charge of evacuating the villagers.
The Book of Destiny[]
Corvus finally approaches the princes and acknowledges that Rayla is a friend. He introduces himself to Ezran and tells him that Amaya has sent him. Corvus approaches Ezran, informing him that he is here to serve him as king. Finally realizing that his father is dead, Ezran leaves. Corvus becomes concerned with Ezran's absence and with Rayla's encouragement, decides to go after his king.
Corvus tracks Ezran and is shocked to find that his tracks are replaced with Banther tracks. Corvus tells this to Rayla and is confused when she bursts into laughter. She explains Ezran's ability to talk to animals, which means that he is on the back of a Banther instead of being eaten by one.
Breathe[]
Corvus reunites with Ezran and is happy to see that Callum has fully recovered from the effects of dark magic and has made a connection with the Sky arcanum. Corvus then introduces himself to Callum and reveals that he told Ezran about King Harrow's death. When Ezran decides to return home, Corvus assures Callum and Rayla that he will bring Ezran home safely. Corvus allows Ezran to ride on him when he uses his telepathic connection to Zym and get him to fly. After Zym succeeds, Corvus admits to Ezran that he is a weird young king.
Book Three - Sun[]
Sol Regem[]
Corvus arrives in the throne room riding on a Banther behind Ezran and Bait. He watches as Ezran is crowned king and bows before him.
The Crown[]
Corvus leads Ezran to the throne room when it is time for his first High Council meeting. Initially, he was denied access because High Council meetings are attended by the king, the High Council itself, and necessary security, but Ezran specifically requests Corvus to come. He is shocked to learn about the attacks on Evenere, Del Bar, and Neolandia, and even more so when Soren and Claudia are brought before Ezran for judgment. Unlike everyone in the throne room, Corvus is unsurprised when Claudia accidentally confesses Soren's secret mission. Corvus stands up for Ezran when Prince Kasef tells him that he had fail as both a king and a son if does not take action against Xadia. When Kasef asks who is he to interrupt a royal discussion, Corvus introduces himself and says that he has been specifically requested. Corvus is pleased when Ezran finally takes up the crown and makes the decisions for Katolis.
Ghost[]
Corvus is present when Ezran summons Kasef to tell the story of the Dragon Prince and smiles when the young king finds the courage in telling the truth. When Kasef reprimands Ezran for being naive, Corvus prepares to defend his king. However, Kasef decides to defuse the tension by leaving the throne room.
The Midnight Desert[]
Kasef returns to Ezran with an ultimatum: have Katolis join the alliance of Neolandia, Evenere, and Del Bar in the war against Xadia, or the three nations will wage war on Katolis. Corvus moves to protect his king when Kasef steps too close to the throne.
When Ezran decides to heed [Saleer]]'s advice of abdicating his position as King of Katolis to protect his people, Corvus begs him for another solution. But Ezran remains adamant and removes himself from the throne. Corvus can only watch as Ezran leaves the throne room in chains.
Heroes and Masterminds[]
As the people of Katolis gather in the throne room to choose a new monarch, Viren arrives and declares himself the new king. Corvus and Opeli plan to flee to Duren before Viren can declare them traitors to Katolis, only to find Soren confronting them during their escape. Soren, in reality, supports Ezran and has Corvus and Opeli meet up with Barius, Lujanne, and Phoe-Phoe in the forest while he frees Ezran and Bait. When Ezran says that he has failed as King of Katolis, Corvus corrects him for showing more courage, strength, and grace in a few days than most leaders show in a lifetime. Ezran thanks Corvus for his loyalty before flying off to Xadia on Phoe-Phoe. With Phoe-Phoe gone, Corvus asks Lujanne on how she will return to the Moon Nexus. Lujanne responds by disguising herself as a human and plans to pull harmless tricks around Katolis for a few days.
The Final Battle[]
The army of Duren alongside Corvus and Ezran's loyalists arrive at the Storm Spire to aid the defenders, with Corvus using his chained hook to defeat several of Viren's soldiers. After the battle, Corvus and his allies reunite in the Storm Spire to witness Zubeia awakening from her slumber and reuniting with her son.
Changing of the Guard[]
Corvus accompanies Soren in working out around the castle as they talk about their respective pasts and futures. Corvus reminisces the times when he grew up in the forest and that autumn is his favorite season while Soren lists the things that Corvus may like in the castle before asking him to join the Crownguard. Corvus accepts the position to cheer Soren up since the latter is still hurt about what happened to Viren and Claudia.
Deep Below[]
Corvus accompanies Ezran, Bait, Azymondias, Soren, and Pyrrah in searching for the Siren Stone inside the Arcus Vault. Instead of racing Soren down to the vault, Corvus saves his energy by riding on Pyrrah's back. Corvus chastises Soren for goofing around by wearing an elven helmet before they come across a Shadowhawk. Due to the Shadowhawk's red coloration and the blood ribbon strapped around it, Corvus and Soren deduce that the assassin was successful in killing his target. The group eventually finds the chest that houses the Siren Stone and proceed in carrying it out from the Arcus Vault.
Book Four - Earth[]
Rebirthday[]
Two years after the battle at the Storm Spire, Corvus has joined the Katolian Crownguard and becomes an official member of the High Council. He and Soren are heading for the High Council meeting when they are greeted by Callum who has become the new High Mage. Soren has nicknamed Callum the "Step-Mage" due to his new position but decides not to do the same for Corvus. Callum decides to catch up with Corvus and Soren after deciding to talk with the Associate Crow Lord about a special delivery from Xadia. After Corvus and Soren reached the High Council meeting, Opeli asks them if Callum is aware of the surprise they are having for him. Callum soon enters the room and Corvus nudges Soren to prevent him from giving away the surprise. Ezran and Bait eventually join in to begin the High Council meeting.
Corvus watches and applauds as Barius is made an official member of the High Council and Katolis's Minister of Crusts and Jellies. He then rolls his eyes when Soren mimics a drum rolling sound when Ezran prepares his big announcement. Corvus and everyone else is surprised and becomes nervous when Ezran reveals that Zubeia and Azymondias are coming to Katolis as special guests. However, Ezran eases everyone's mind due to Zubeia's compassionate nature that has the potential of changing humanity's perspective on dragons. The High Council meeting is then adjourned and an exasperated Corvus shakes his head while remaining silent as Soren continues to talk about Callum's surprise without giving too much away.
Later in the afternoon, Corvus is conversing with two other guards in the courtyard about Callum's surprise, only to be surprised when he sees Callum walking towards the castle. When Corvus asks about where Callum is going, Soren hastily comes up with a cover story about a secret plot that the Crownguard is working to thwart. Corvus hesitantly goes along with Soren's lie and convinces Callum that they should go somewhere quiet to discuss the "plot", and Callum decides to take Corvus and Soren to his office.
By nightfall, Callum is convinced that there is a potential coup against Ezran and asks both Corvus and Soren to tell him everything they know. Soren suggests that Corvus has the most details, but Corvus decides to distract Callum by steering the conversation towards the magic mirror. Callum initially takes the bait before realizing that Corvus and Ezran are attempting to stall him from something. When Callum sees the Associate Crow Lord closing the balcony doors of the castle's royal chambers, he believes that Ezran is in danger and flies towards the balcony with Corvus and Soren trying to catch up on foot. However, Callum learns that everyone in the castle has prepared a surprise birthday party for him. Corvus then joins the party and is among those who are witnessing two children performing the new dance craze that Soren mentioned earlier.
Fallen Stars[]
Corvus is in the courtyard with Ezran when he witnesses Callum's excitement on finally acquiring the Tome of Translation. Corvus then asks Ezran on whether inviting Zubeia to Katolis is a catalyst for growing trust and peace across between Xadia and the Human Kingdoms or if it is just an excuse for Zym to come visit. Corvus smiles when Ezran answers that both ideas are correct, for it has been four months since he last saw Zym and that he wants to squeeze the dragonling's zappy little cheeks to show how much he misses him.
Breathtaking[]
Corvus is chatting with Soren as the people of Katolis prepare for the festivities of welcoming Zubeia, Pyrrah, and Azymondias. After the arrival of the dragons, Corvus listens to Soren's effort of stalling time for Callum to appear with standup comedy and witnesses Callum accidentally causing the giant jelly tart that Barius prepared with his fireworks.
By sunset, Corvus attends the gift ceremony in the Valley of Graves where Ezran shall unveil a painting as a gift of hope and friendship. But when the painting is unveiled, everyone is shocked to see that it has been vandalized with Zubeia's face being torn off. Ezran decides to use the moment to make a speech about peace, violence, loss, and forgiveness to inspire everyone to build a better future. Corvus then takes the opportunity to play a piece of music he has written called "A Song of Love and Loss" with a cello. After the song ended by nightfall, the ceremony is suddenly interrupted by an urgent message from Ibis that alerts everyone about the potential return of Aaravos.
Through the Looking Glass[]
When the dragons decide to return to the Storm Spire after receiving Ibis's message, Opeli convinces Team Zym to join them as Corvus gives Ezran his backpack.
Book Five - Ocean[]
Domina Profundis[]
Corvus accompanies Ezran, Zym, Soren, and Zubeia in their flight to an ancient rune-beacon on the eastern coast of Xadia. Upon arriving, Corvus and Soren carry the ornate chest containing the Siren Stone to the top of the rune-beacon before Ezran uses it to summon Domina Profundis, the Archdragon of the Ocean. Domina helps Corvus and the rest of Ezran's group by revealing the true nature of Aaravos's prison.
Old Wounds[]
Corvus and Soren are inside the Storm Spire watching Ezran rehearsing for the big speech he will make when he meets with the dragons of Xadia. When Ezran asks whether he should use "beseech" or "entreat" in his speech, Corvus corrects Soren that the word "entreat" does not involve treats. Although Corvus is initially exasperated by Soren giggling after hearing Ezran saying the word "duty", he eventually joins the laughter upon noting the humor behind the aforementioned "I shall not be deterred".
Nightmares & Revelations[]
Corvus and the rest of Ezran's group are happy to learn that all of the dragons Zubeia summoned have agreed to help them in locating Claudia and Viren.
The Great Bookery[]
Corvus accompanies Ezran's group in rescuing Callum, Rayla, Bait, Stella, and Amaya from the corrupted Banthers in the Great Bookery of Lux Aurea. When one corrupted Banther manages to bite Zubeia's left flank, Corvus swings down and shoves the beast off before he falls to the floor and injures himself near the book drop. Amaya immediately rushes to Corvus's side to protect him as more corrupted Banthers close in on them. With certain death seemingly approaching, Corvus tells Amaya that it has been the greatest honor to serve under her. As Amaya prepares to make her last stand, she remembers what Kazi said about the book drop and uses it to shelter herself and Corvus from the corrupted Banthers. Team Zym is relieved to learn that Corvus and Amaya will survive the night as Zubeia flies them to the Storm Spire.
Sea Legs[]
The limping Corvus and Amaya are able to reach the Sunfire Elf camp, where they reunite with Gren and Kazi. Corvus allows Kazi to help him stand on his feet before he and Amaya learn about Kim'dael's attack that resulted in the deaths of several guards and Janai's abduction.
Finnegrin's Wake[]
Despite the crutch given to him, Corvus is not hindered in tracking down Kim'dael and Janai. Upon entering the royal tent, Corvus reports to Amaya, Gren, and Kazi that neither Kim'dael nor Janai left any trace for anyone to follow. Amaya and Gren tell Corvus to rest and heal when they hear a commotion outside the tent, which turns out to be the other Sunfire Elves branding Pharos as a traitor.
Infantis Sanguine[]
Corvus is surveying the map of the Sunfire Elf camp with Gren and Kazi inside the royal tent when the guards announce Amaya and Janai's return. Amaya and Janai are confused by the solemn looks that Corvus, Gren, and Kazi are giving them. When Janai asks if there is something wrong, Corvus reveals to everyone that Miyana had betrayed Janai and defected to Karim's side.
Book Six - Stars[]
Love, War & Mushrooms[]
Corvus wakes up from his sleep in the Sunfire Elf Camp and sees Pyrrah standing before him. Soren then surprises Corvus by hugging from behind before putting him down. Corvus does not hesitate to help Zym, Soren, Pyrrah, and Hat track down the missing Zubeia.
Inside the Storm Spire's lair, Corvus retraces Zubeia's claw marks and movements, correctly deducing that she is ill due to her claw markings and the dried blood on the wall. Soren reveals to Corvus that the wound the corrupted Banther inflicted on Zubeia festered, and she chose to keep it a secret so Zym is not concerned about her well-being. When Soren decides to use charades to communicate with Corvus so they would not make Zym feel so anxious, Corvus is unamused. He decides to head for the pinnacle to see where Zubeia might be after Soren states that he never attended any of the Crownguard Bonding Barbecue Game Night Extravaganzas. Through his spyglass, Corvus spots an unusual stretch of flattened forest a few miles out, and everyone realizes that Zubeia must have crashed.
At the crash site, Corvus explains to Zym, Soren, Pyrrah, and Hat that the lack of claw indentations on the ground and the intact tree tops mean that Zubeia somehow did not fly off. He pets Zym as the dragonling discovers a mysterious trail of mushrooms leading deeper into the forest, which serves as a clue to Zubeia's whereabouts. Corvus then tells Soren and Hat to spit out the strange mushrooms they are eating before following the mushroom trail.
When the sun sets in Xadia, Corvus, Zym, Soren, and Hat come across the last mushroom before camping under a large tree. The next morning, Corvus and his group discover mushrooms surrounding them, only to learn that one of the mushrooms is actually a Mushpal that leads them further into the forest. Corvus struggles to keep up due to his leg injury, prompting Soren to carry him on his back. They soon come across a large Mushpal that puts them to sleep with its spores.
Corvus and his group eventually wake up on Fungi Lane, where they meet Mukho, the Earthblood Elf who has been caring for Zubeia and encourages them to wear mushroom caps so the Mushpals will see them as friends. Corvus, Soren, and Hat wait outside the tree hollow where Zubeia rests after Zym ate a mush-mallow to reunite with her. Soren confesses to Corvus that he is worried about Zym since Zubeia is the only family he has. Corvus decides to use charades to comfort and tell Soren that Zym has him, who is a good man with a big heart. The delighted Soren hugs Corvus, who reciprocates the gesture.
In the afternoon, Corvus briefly climbs atop the large Mushpal to catch Pyrrah's eyes by waving at her. When he asks if everyone is ready to go, he covers his eyes and shakes his head with exasperation upon witnessing Soren eating a mush-mallow to shrink and become Hat's hat.
The Starscraper[]
Corvus, Zym, Soren, Pyrrah, and Hat return to Katolis before they learn about Ezran imprisoning Viren in the dungeon.
The Red Wedding[]
Corvus attends Amaya and Janai's wedding by playing his cello alongside a Sunfire Elf violinist. After Kazi finishes performing the "Blessing of the Sun", Karim's approaching army threatens to put the wedding off.
Corvus accompanies Ezran to parleying for peace with Karim and Miyana while Zym and Aanya watch over them from a distance. However, when Karim reveals that he chose to honor Sol Regem over Janai, Corvus grows suspicious of Miyana's horn and Sol Regem's imagery around the tent. He alerts Ezran about the renegade Sunfire Elves' lack of shields and defenses before realizing Karim's intention of unleashing Sol Regem. Karim and his subordinates start to apprehend Corvus and Ezran before Zym and Aanya come to their rescue. Corvus allows himself to be recaptured so Ezran can escape and warn Amaya and Janai about Sol Regem. As Amaya and Janai lead the charge against Karim's army, Miyana blows her horn, causing Corvus to shout, "No!" with the belief that Sol Regem will massacre his friends and allies. However, the Archdragon never appeared, allowing Janai and Amaya's forces to swiftly defeat Karim's.
