- —Donkey Kong in the game Donkey Kong Country 3 for SNES
KAOS is a large, jet-propelled robot and the apparent master of the Kremling Kreeps during the events of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and a common boss in Donkey Kong Land III.[1][2]
Structure
KAOS is a large, green jet-propelled robot with two square holes in corners, three lights, reel-to-reel and hazard stripes. KAOS has a "head" resembling a humanoid skull with sunglasses, which is initially covered by a green helmet, featuring red eyes and two antennae, one of which is bent haphazardly. Beneath the skull is a black cylinder with large, red eyes. When the helmet and skull are defeated, they may fly off and continue attacking the Kongs independently of the main robot.
The body of KAOS houses two rotating blades, which may be climbed if its attacks are dodged, and a pair of spring-mounted boxing gloves. The helmet and skull head shoot lasers from above, if dislodged.
Although his sprite is the same in the Game Boy Advance remake, KAOS's skull head changes from a light-gray color to light-green.
History
Before the events of third game, KAOS was created by King K. Rool with all the pots and pans of his wife with intentions of restoring the Kremling Krew, enact revenge against the Kong Family and rule DK Isles. But he needed a brain, so K. Rool captured Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong to use the cerebral energy of both.[3][4][5]
KAOS (under control of K. Rool) was sent to Mekanos where Kremling remnants lived, to lead a takeover, starting with the capture and imprisonment of the Banana Bird Queen and her offspring the Banana Birds and conquer lands known as the Northern Kremisphere.[6][7][8]
He meets with Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong for first time in Mekanos where the battle begins. KAOS tries roast the Kongs with rocket fire in soil and firing lasers by first head, but is stepped in the head by the Kongs numerous times, until he tries to push them with boxing gloves to stop them from climbing in his blades. Defeated, he runs away from the factory and his first head is destroyed, taking off the second ski.
His last fight with the pair was in KAOS Kore, where he tries using rocket fire again and launch missiles from his true head, but is completely damaged with barrels making fall in ground and taken him into the air by crane hook. After the battle, it is discovered by the pair that KAOS was controlled by King K. Rool.
After that his creator is defeated, DK and Diddy climb out of KAOS's shell revealing that were being used as power sources.
