He is a World War II veteran, superhero, and founding member of the Avengers. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, the young Rogers suffered from numerous health problems and upon America's entry into World War II, was rejected from military service despite several attempts to enlist. Determined to serve, he ultimately volunteered for the top-secret Super Soldier program, and the frail Rogers was then enhanced to the peak of human perfection. Rogers soon joined the war effort and was given the new moniker of Captain America.

Captain America arrives on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier to give Spider-Man and his team a friendly training session. When Spider-Man was handling his shield, he accidentally threw it out of the window and the shield lands Latveria's New York embassy owned by Doctor Doom. The two sneak into it get it to stop Doom from exploiting it for his purposes. While fighting against Doom's forces, he help Spider-Man during the mission. They then learned Doom was using the embassy as a base of operations for an invasion.
They stop Doom from escaping in his jet with his shield and S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived to arrest Doom in which he return Cap's shield. Later, Cap gave his report to Phil Coulson and let handle look at his shield only for him to accidentally throw it out.
