Pliny is a relatively upbeat, optimistic, go-getter, who takes charge of the situation whenever she or her friends are thrust into danger. Pliny speaks with a sense of authority, but maintains a kindly composure that rubs off on others. She can be determined to a fault as she occasionally charges through without thinking of the consequences. Her closest friend appears to be Merian, but she also acts a mentor towards Larry, who is always amazed at her.

Pliny is a short girl of Malaysian-American with tan skin and long dark hair. When she removes her hat, she is revealed to have a bulbous forehead with a shine spot on it. She wears giant pair of glasses, beige bucket hat, a red t-shirt with a pocket, blue shorts held up by a belt, and large red boots.

Pliny is most likely named after Pliny the Elder, a famous Roman scholar, philosopher, and naval officer who wrote the Naturalis Historia, one of the first comprehensive encyclopedias. His search for documenting all knowledge is similar to Pliny from the show.
