Hamilton Luton Luske was an American animator and film director, who directed many Disney films and shorts from 1936 until his death in 1968, such as Pinocchio, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, and One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois; Luske graduated from the University of California- Berkley where he majored in business and began working life as a newspaper cartoonist in Oakland. In 1931, he joined the Disney Studio, where he initially drew Mickey Mouse black & white shorts before moving on as full animator to the Silly Symphony, series which was done in color. He was soon trusted enough by Walt Disney to be made supervising animator of Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Over the years, he and his family contributed to Disney films. Luske used his one-year-old son, Jim as the live action actor for Baby Weems in the film The Reluctant Dragon. His daughter Peggy's Cocker Spaniel, Blondie was used as the model for Lady in Lady and The Tramp. His son Tom was the voice and model for Michael Darling in Peter Pan. Hamilton's wife, Marcel, modeled for the character Persephone in the Silly Symphony, Goddess of the Spring.

In 1965, he won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for directing the animated sequence in Mary Poppins. He was posthumously named a Disney Legend in 1999.
