Donald's Dinner Date is an animated short originally featured in episode #10 of Mickey Mouse Works. It was later featured in the House of Mouse episode "Goofy for a Day".
Plot[]
Donald must restrain his temper on a dinner date with Daisy, even though the incompetent Goofy is their waiter.
Cast[]
- Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck
- Diane Michelle as Daisy Duck
- Bill Farmer as Goofy
- Corey Burton as additional voices (Uncredited)
Trivia[]
- This short is very reminiscent to that to Cured Duck which was released 54 years earlier, as it also involves Donald, whom is at risk of getting dumped by Daisy for his unstable temper, trying to control his temper in order to save his romantic relationship with Daisy, only for Daisy to ironically lose her temper in the end.
- Daisy orders the fish but she couldn't get to eat it, however in "Whitewater Donald", she claims that she thinks fish are gross.
- By the end of the short, both Donald and Daisy end up losing their temper and end up throwing fits of temper-tantrums in an almost-identical fashion, which Goofy even remarks that they both make "the perfect couple". While Daisy's temperamental ranting in that scene consists of intelligible spoken dialogue, Donald's temperamental ranting on the other hand in the same scene consists of unintelligible duck-like squawking.
- It is one of seven shorts that is animated in traditional cel-animation.
Errors[]
- Daisy's house was located at a suburban neighborhood like those of Mickey Mouse and the others instead of by the beachside like most episodes did.
- It is unknown how Daisy got another hairbow, since Goofy used her previous hairbow for bow-shaped pasta for their salad.
