El Rey León 3: Hakuna Matata es una película creada por los estudios Disney estrenada en el año 2004 con la dirección de Bradley Raymond, producción de George A. Mendoza y Jason VanBorssum, guión de Roger Allers y música de Martin Erskine, Don Harper y Hans Zimmer.
Timón y su simpático amigo Pumba son los grandes héroes de la Sabana. El Rey León 3 nos traslada al pasado, antes de que comenzase la historia de Simba, e incluso mucho más atrás. En esta nueva comedia de aventuras, Timón y Pumba descubrirán sus orígenes, cuándo se conocieron y cómo ayudaron a Simba a salvar el Serengeti. Su historia incluye algunos de los grandes momentos de El Rey León, que ahora resultarán un poco diferentes desde su punto de vista. Por ejemplo, sorprenderá conocer la verdad sobre cómo se desarrolló el trascendental momento en el que Simba fue presentado al reino animal. Oh si no El rey león visto desde el punto de vista de Timón y Pumba
En la escena de la presentación de Simba en la primera película, al parecer todos los animales hacen una reverencia a Simba, pero en la tercera lo parodian con el "gran poder de Pumba", por eso los animales de atrás cayeron rendidos ante el olor, y unas cebras de más adelante pensaron que era una reverencia y todos los animales presentes fueron haciéndola.
En una escena Timón decide irse de donde estaba durmiendo con Pumba, porque dice que los vecinos son muy ruidosos, en ese momento estaban Simba y Nala de cachorros cantando "Quiero ya ser el rey", la popular canción en la que hacen una torre con los animales, y se revela que fueron ellos quienes la hicieron caer en la película original.
Cuando Timón busca su paraíso libre de hienas llegan a un cementerio de elefantes, el mismo al cual Simba y Nala se escapan, en esa escena aparece Mufasa acompañado de Zazú saltando sobre Timón y Pumba buscando a Simba y a Nala.
En la escena en que encuentran a Simba es la misma que en el Rey León I pero esta vez es desde su visión de las cosas.
Cuando Simba y Nala adultos están en la jungla mientras se escucha la canción "Esta noche es para amar":
En la primera película, se ve que caen por una pendiente mientras se abrazan, en esta película, parodian esta escena simulando que Timón y Pumba intentan evitar el enamoramiento de los leones, poniendo una cuerda entre dos árboles para que se tropiecen mientras jugueteaban, pero Nala la pisa, y al caer con Simba, hacen caer a Timón y Pumba junto con la cuerda en una divertida escena.
En la primera película al terminar la canción "Esta noche es para amar", se ve que Timón y Pumba cantan: Feliz final escrito está...que mala situación...mirando de frente, en la tercer, se ve a Timón y Pumba cantando esa misma frase pero de espaldas, y se ve a Simba y Nala subiendo por una roca.
En la parte de la primera película en que Simba habla con su padre, se forma una niebla con muchas nubes en el cielo de la noche. En la tercera, Timón y Pumba ven esta niebla y Timón le dice a Pumba: Vamos Pumba, que se avecina una tormenta...
Cuando Simba regresa a pelear por su trono y liberar a su familia de la esclavitud a la que fue sometida por Scar, corre por el desierto en cámara lenta. Cuando Pumba va a ayudarle, se muestra esta misma escena pero con Pumba corriendo en cámara lenta por el desierto.
En la primera película, se ve una escena a mitad de la película en que Rafiki dice que el rey a regresado, pero Timón dice mirando a Rafiki "¿Y el quien es?" haciendo referencia a que no lo conoce, pero en ésta película se aprecia que Rafiki estuvo desde el inicio dándole consejos también a Timón.
