Princesita Sofia (La Princesa Sofia en España) es una serie de televisión de animación por ordenador en 3D con las Princesas Disney, que se estrenó oficialmente con su primer episodio de media hora en el 11 de Enero, 2013. El piloto de la serie hizo su debut en Disney Channel el 18 de Noviembre de 2012 con un especial de una hora. La estrella de la serie, Sofia (Ariel Winter), es una niña de siete años de edad, a punto de convertirse en una princesa real adecuada.
Introduce a Sofia, una niña con el fondo de una plebeya hasta que su madre (interpretada por Sara Ramírez de Grey's Anatomy) se casa con el Rey Roland II, y de repente ella es de la realeza. Sofía, junto con otros príncipes y princesas, asiste a Royal Prep.
Sofia, una niña pobre se convierte del día a la mañana en una princesa después de que su madre Miranda se case con el Rey Roland II. Con la ayuda de su familia, las hadas Flora, Fauna y Primavera, y en ocasiones, de las Princesas Disney, Sofia intenta ser una buena princesa.
La Princesa Sofia: Sofia es una niña con el fondo de un plebeyo, hasta que su madre se casa con el rey de su reino y de repente se convierte en princesa.
La Reina Miranda: Miranda es una mujer cariñosa, que ama profundamente a su hija Sofia, y estaba feliz de llegar a ser una nueva madre de James y Amber.
El Rey Roland II: Es amable y acogedor. Él no se fija en el exterior sino en el interior, por lo que se casó con Miranda por amor verdadero.
El Príncipe James: A diferencia de su hermana Amber, James no es malvado, ni egoísta y es muy útil para Sofia.
La Princesa Amber: Era envidiosa y descarada con la que es su hermanastra Sofia. Pero después de cometer varios errores comienza a ser cada vez más responsable, amable, y una hermana correspondiente a Sofia
Cédric: Es el hechicero real, y antagonista de la serie. Sabe hacer todo tipo de hechizos, aunque no siempre le salen bien.
Clover: Es el conejo mascota y el mejor amigo de Sofia, y le ayuda a ganarse la vida en el reino mucho más fácil.
