Perry es un ornitorrinco que lleva una doble vida como mascota de los protagonistas de la serie y como agente secreto. Su nombre de espía es "Agente P." Trabaja para Francis Monograma. Su principal objetivo es derrotar al malvado Heinz Doofenshmirtz impidiendo que lleve a cabo sus planes.
Relaciones
Heinz Doofenshmirtz: Es el mayor enemigo de Perry. Sin embargo mantienen algo más que una relación, en el sentido de que ambos aman odiarse el uno al otro.
Francis Monograma: Es su jefe, quien le da indicaciones acerca de los malvados planes de Doofenshmirtz, normalmente información irrelevante.
Phineas, Ferb y los demás personajes: Ante ellos Perry debe proteger su identidad secreta de espía. Para lograrlo, Perry se comporta como una simple mascota que, según los demás: "No hace gran cosa". Pese a lo anterior, en algunos episodios se ha demostrado que Perry siente gran aprecio hacia sus dueños, especialmente hacia Phineas. En el episodio Viaje al centro de Candace, Perry ataca a Doofenshmirtz al percatarse que su invento podría destruir a Phineas y Ferb. Y en otra ocasión, en el que iban a transladar a Perry con otro enemigo, él estaba triste por dejarles.
Agente P
El Agente P.
"Agente P" es el nombre secreto de Perry. La transformación de Perry en el Agente P ocurre en el momento en que este comienza a caminar en dos patas, y en el momento en que se coloca su peculiar sombrero de agente.
A fin de ponerse al tanto de los planes de Doofenshmirtz, Perry recibe información del Mayor Monograma. Para ello, Perry se dirige a su guarida, aprovechando cualquier descuido de Phineas y Ferb o sus amigos mientras va a un medio de acceso de la guarida, a la que ingresa por diversos medios de acceso/escape.
Perry es parte de la comunidad LGBTQIA+, ya que es asexual, confirmado por Dan Povenmire.
Junto con Doofenshmirtz, Perry forma parte de un gag recurrente dentro de la serie. De alguna manera, sus misiones siempre terminan cubriendo accidentalmente toda evidencia de las actividades que realizan Phineas y Ferb, por lo cual Linda Flynn, madre de Phineas y Ferb nunca descubre lo que los chicos han hecho, a pesar de que a ellos no les importe que ella se entere.
En algunos episodios Francis Monograma ofrece disculpas a Perry debido a las "dificultades técnicas" que presentan los medios de escape.
Al ser un ornitorrinco, Perry tiene los pies planos.
Perry tiene la capacidad de comunicarse con los castores.
Cuando Phineas y Ferb crean un muñeco de inacción basado en Perry para una compañía, buscando más modificaciones para el personaje una de las ideas era casualmente hacerlo un espía.
En toda ocasión que Perry logra salir adelante de una situación difícil, se escucha su banda sonora.
A pesar de que a lo largo de la serie, casi siempre está trabajando como agente, se ha demostrado que quiere mucho a Phineas y a Ferb.
Dentro de la serie Ferb dice que el ornitorrinco es el único mamífero capaz de poner huevos, pero los equidnas también son mamíferos con dicha capacidad.
