Tengu-do is a fictional fighting style created by Team Ninja, though when broken down it appears to show some aspects of Kabuki dance. It involves flashy attacks that either end, or are executed, with exaggerated poses, usually involving being on one foot with hands posed in front of the user. Some attacks also involving rolls or spins that result in strong kick attacks. Practitioners wield various objects (depending on costume) in their right hand, though on occasion they will switch it to their left hand during certain combos.
The fighting style also show cases some forms of magic, such as being able to create gusts of wind. With the use of wings, players are capable of maneuvering around or over opponents, or lifting them high into the air before slamming them back down.
At its core it is an effective, though difficult to use, fighting style in the Dead or Alive franchise. To use it properly players would need to make sure to practice it for a set period of time before taking on higher A.I. opponents.

Trivia[]
- Tengu-do is one of only two fighting styles to incorporate handheld objects into the fight during gameplay, the only other being the Shiranui style ninjutsu practiced by Mai Shiranui. Coincidentally, both Bankotsubo (a practitioner of Tengu-do) and Mai Shiranui (the practitioner and namesake for the Shiranui-style ninjutsu) share the same birthday.
- Aside from the fighting style, Tengu-do was also the name of a Japanese confectionary shop that Nyotengu used to deliver various favorite foods for Hitomi, Marie Rose, and Kokoro for Christmas in Xtreme Venus Vacation.
