Spectre taps into the cards dealt to the man and tracks him down to Louisiana. Spectre tells Jim Corrigan to drive down there and the private detective takes his assistance, Kim with him.

Once they arrive at their destination, Spectre leaves Corrigan's body and follows the trail of the man to the swamp, where he notices the presence of the Manhunters. Meanwhile, Corrigan and Kim stay in a diner, when they notice a man yelling something about men from mars following him. Corrigan goes to investigate and he comes across Batman. At that precise moment, Spectre has gone inside one of the Manhunters and starts deactivating the machines thanks to their collective consciousness. Meanwhile, Spectre continues deactivating Manhunters until he finds the source of their commands. A massive machine that sends signals to all Manhunters and in order to put an end to it, Spectre decides to make it explode, sacrificing himself in the process. His actions help Batman, Corrigan and the Suicide Squad escape from the Manhunter fortress, as all Manhunters are deactivated once the machine is destroyed.
