History

Lazarus Tournament

The League of Lazarus hold a death tournament every one hundred years for the greatest fighters in the world to participate in, in order to sacrifice the winner to the Lazarus Pit for a demon to bond with. During the Tournament on the Island, Rúh al Ghul unleashed the demon to merge with the champion Connor Hawke, but the being was eventually killed by Damian Wayne and the other fighters on the island.^[1][2]

Lazarus Eruption

Batman fought The Devil Nezha on the Island while attempting to rescue Damian, who had been brainwashed by the immortal warlord. During the fight, the Helmet of Fate was shattered and the shards fell into a Lazarus Pit on the island. This caused the volcano on the island to erupt and spread Lazarus Resin around the world.^[3]
