Synopsis for "The Darkness That Was Camelot"
The group, with the exception of Madame Xanadu and Shining Knight, have been transformed into monstrous versions of themselves by means of dark magic. Al Jabr is able to telepathically understand the zombified King Arthur and tells the group that he is trying to warn them to leave. Etrigan is now a huge demon king who is eager to demonstrate his powers on some attacking beasts. King Arthur convinces the group to follow him.
Arthur leads the Demon Knights to a magical fountain that will lift the curse. The group debates on whether or not they want to give up their new dark powers, but Arthur does not wait for their decision and bathes them all in the water transforming the group and Arthur into their natural selves. Arthur explains that the spell caused by the tower standing atop the ruins of Camelot would have eventually turned them all into unthinking monsters.
Madame Xanadu reveals to the knights that she and Arthur are half-siblings and that she is feyborn. Arthur tells them of his time in Avalon after the fall of Camelot and his eventual return, only to find the monolith where his kingdom once stood. The tower's dark magic transformed him but couldn't change his will to protect the land. The group sets out to destroy the tower.
The Demon Knights battle a monster made of earth. From atop the dark tower, Morgaine le Fey magically spies on the group and finds where they've left the body of Merlin. She sends her minions to retrieve it, sure that her sister Madame Xanadu won't suspect that the Demon Knights are walking straight into a trap.
