Blue Beetle (Volume 6) #12 is an issue of the series Blue Beetle (Volume 6) with a cover date of May, 1987.

Synopsis for "Man in the Middle"

Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) finds himself in the middle of a fight between the Hybrid and the Teen Titans. He quickly reaches the conclusion to ignore both parties and to rush for the ambulance where Curt Calhoun is. His plan backfires, however, as Touch-N-Go absorbs his kinetic energy. This action causes the Teen Titans to rush into action to defend the collapsed man.

At Chicago's police headquarters, Max Fisher announces to his captain that he's going to take a vacation. Even though he doesn't tell him, he has the intention to go to Pago Island.

On said island, Conrad Carapax finally discovers the secrets of Pago Island.

Once Blue Beetle regains consciousness, he helps the Teen Titans to defeat the Hybrid. Once they're done, he wishes to finally help Curt Calhoun, but the Teen Titans warn him that if Mento was after him, there's most certainly a trap. Blue Beetle doesn't listen. Before he reaches the ambulance, however, it melts before his eyes : Curt Calhoun is gone, now only Prometheus, the ultimate hybrid, remains.
