Garrison Slate was one of the founders of S.T.A.R. Labs.
History
Garrison Slate was an aspiring scientist who wanted to create a nation-wide scientific institution that would not be connected to the federal government or any business interests. His efforts led to the creation of S.T.A.R. Labs. Slate prefers to avoid publicity and has the world believing he has gone into semi-retirement, although he has shown up at various facilities to make sure all runs well.[1]
