Hazan is a mysterious character hidden in a bootleg version of Sonic the Hedgehog called Sinc the Hedgehog. He appears in a hidden map, and finding it leads to tragic consequences for the player
Appearance[]
Hazan has no ears but has grey fur, and instead of the normal face that Sonic has, he has a black, dark-spot-like face with two slightly yellow eyes and numerous teeth of the same color. His large black pupils are striking. From the corner of his stomach to his legs, his body is black, and his overall appearance is wavy, as if unstable, especially when he moves
Personality[]
Not much is known about Hazan, but it’s clear that the only emotion he shows is joy. However, for him, joy is nothing more than the fear he instills in the player. His behavior is mysterious, and his presence evokes unease
The Tale[]
On November 3, 1993, a game called Sinc the Hedgehog was created in Japan. It was a knockoff of Sonic the Hedgehog. Despite its poor quality, a few people decided to buy it. However, within a few days, most of those people ended up in the hospital due to epilepsy, and five of them died.
The police quickly arrested the creators of the knockoff, but they denied that the game contained anything that could cause such reactions. They claimed to have played it themselves many times without any issues. The police decided to question one of the survivors. The victim described what happened during his gameplay.
He said that after completing several levels, he found an oval, gray ring. When he approached it, he was suddenly transported to another map. The grass there was gray, and instead of water in the background, there were long, gray rectangles. At some point, a message appeared on the screen from Sinc, instructing him to turn off the game. What shocked him even more was that the game wrote his name. Ignoring the warning, he continued forward.
Suddenly, he encountered a strange creature—it resembled Sinc but was gray, with a black void where its face should have been. At that moment, the game switched to a 2D perspective, and the creature revealed its eyes and teeth. A voice said: "You will see the light... now." Bright, flashing white lights filled the screen, triggering an epileptic seizure. During the flashes, he saw the word "Hazan."
The police discovered that all the victims who experienced seizures had similar encounters—they each found a portal to the same mysterious map. The creators of the game insisted they had never made such a map, but their explanations were dismissed. They were sentenced to prison, and all copies of the game were destroyed.
