Appearance
Sonic generally appears as he would in the core franchise.
The Tale
The viewer is greeted with a title screen that simply reads "SONIC." The gameplay consists of a showcase of the levels within the game, that ultimately end in Sonic getting killed in some way at the end of the stages, until he’s killed for good, as his head is impaled in a stake.
Not Special, ACT 0 - The level takes place in a dark area, with a fleshed out ring at the right. Seeing no other option, Sonic promptly enters the ring, leading to a bonus level with only 4 platforms, Sonic jumps downward to seek anything else until hitting a few "GOAL" orbs, which causes the game to crash shortly after.
ACT 1 - The level goes unnamed, and takes place in space. Sonic immediately uses the spin dash after encountering a speed box. Overtime, he trigger more boxes, gaining speed beyond his limits, until getting stopped by a wall of spikes, impaling him. The screen distorts after a short while, until an image of Sonic flashes briefly.
Go Back, ACT 9 - The other 7 levels are skipped. Sonic is put into a reddish hellscape. Shortly after, the screen closes in, eventually crushing Sonic.
End, ACT 1 - The final level of the game. Sonic is put to defeat a black beast resembling an Ultimate Chimera, until realizing it's nearly impossible to kill them. Attempting to find another way, Sonic would spindash towards the creature, then promptly get eaten brutally.
The Remake follows a generally similar premise, with the same title screen, and loading screens.
DEEP HUBRIS ZONE, ACT 1 - The first level of the game. It takes place in Green Hill at night, and Sonic's only option of moving forward are a series of springs. After the second spring, Sonic clips out of the level, falling into the dark abyss, then dying. The player is jumpscared briefly.
GREAT ENTROPY ZONE, ACT 1 - The level takes place in space, with edited textures. Sonic passes by a glitched version of himself, and decides to examine the figure. After promptly defeating the clone, the level glitches out slowly.
WITHOUT YOU - The level takes place in Green Hill Zone. The level scrolls automatically, with a noticeable lack of Sonic's presence. By the time the level stops scrolling, the glitched Sonic clone re-appears, causing the whole level to glitch out as well.
ACT 0 - This is the final level, which goes unnamed. It seems to be a desaturated landscape with a white light at the top center. Sonic runs through this landscape, eventually hitting nothing for a few times. Eventually, the game starts talking to him, with the following messages.
"GREEN HILL ZONE ACT 1"
"WELCOME DEAR FRIEND ACT 1"
"YOU ARE QUITE FAR AWAY FROM HOME"
"DO NOT BOTHER RUNNING"
"EVERY STAR DIED OUT LONG AGO"
"NOW IT IS JUST YOU AND-" (unintelligible)
"YOUR WORLD AND FRIENDS ARE GONE"
"BUT SO ARE YOUR FOES"
"I HOPE YOU KNOW WELL"
"NOT EVEN G O D S LAST FOREVER"
"THERE ARE NO EVILS TO FIGHT"
"THERE IS NO REASON TO PERSIST"
"EVEN NOW YOUR TIME RUNS SHORT"
"YET YOU STILL STRUGGLE"
"L A Y D O W N A N D S L E E P"
...
"LAY DOWN AND SLEEP"
Overtime, Sonic loses his remaining rings, until finally dying after the speech closes.[WIP]
Trivia
- The Game Over theme is taken from the ending theme of Suicidemouse.avi.
- This creepypasta pre-dates the original Sonic.exe creepypasta, being launched a full year prior.
- The levels featured in both the Sally.exe story and its in-game adaptation were completely plagiarized from the ones featured in the “SONIC” video.
- JoresuOni (the author of the story) and Crimson (the author of the game adaptation) also confirmed the original creepypasta's elements were stolen.
- The Ultimate Chimera isn't present in the remake, due to health issues.[1]
- Weirdly enough, “SONIC” got a remake a mere week before “Sonic 0”’s unprecedented release, which you can watch here.
- Chinelin published a video on April Fools day titled "[Preepycasta] Sonic 1.61803398875", but sadly it is now lost media since Chinelin closed his channel again and no one reposted the video
