Trivia[]

  • This is the second time where Blue becomes a clue. Also, it is not on herself, it is a picture of her. That also happens again in Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper Day.
  • This episode is on the Blue's Room DVD "Shape Detectives" as a bonus feature. On the Shape Detectives DVD, the Nick Jr. roosters logo gets plastered by the Nickelodeon Haypile logo and the logo got the 2007 copyright info.
  • This is the second episode where Steve wears his tan shoes.
  • Slippery Soap does not appear in this episode.
  • Shovel and Pail do not appear in this episode.
  • Magenta does not appear in this episode.
  • When Steve went to the orange shelf to figure out what was the lightest on the orange shelf, his Season 2 hair is used.
  • During The So Long Song, a re-shot of his early-mid Season 3 hair from Blue's Big Pajama Party, Draw Along with Blue, Occupations and What's So Funny? is used.
  • The “A clue” voiceover from What Experiment Does Blue Want to Try? was used twice in this episode; once for the usual theme song, and once for the third clue. After this episode, the voiceover will only be used in the song for the rest of the series up until Season 6's Soccer Practice.
  • The Scales (Two characters) has debuted in two locations:
    • In the House's Kitchen, the first scale was used for balancing.
      • In the skidoo segment (Country Store), The second scale was used for weighing.
        • There was also a non-talking scale in the felt frame. The numbers 2 and 4 were on each side, and 4 was down because 2 < 4. Later, the numbers 0 and 9 come in and jump on the 2, causing it to go down because 0 + 9 + 2 = 11 and 11 > 4. The numbers became the second clue.
    • We also see the weight of several other characters in this episode:
    • Altogether, their total weight is 163 pounds (73.9356 kilograms).
      • Steve alone weighed 138 pounds (62.5957 kilograms). As he said that his two green striped shirts, he held on to do not fit him anymore, his weight is higher than it was when this episode was produced.
  • Surprisingly, there is no Kevin or Duarte version produced for unknown reasons. The only versions are from Steve and HyunSup Shim.
  • When Steve says "Numbers are our second..." he puts the broom away before saying "Blue's Clues!".
  • This is another episode when Steve asks Blue "What do you want to do?". The first time this happened was in What Does Blue Want to Do on a Rainy Day? as "What do you want to do today?" except it was musically asked. This will happen again later in Something To Do Blue when Blue sits in the thinking chair and Steve says, "Blue is trying to figure out what she wants to do today.". This also happened in Nurture! when Steve plurally says, "What do we need to do today?".
  • The animation for Blue in the Mailtime song is the same from The Lost Episode!/Blue's Sad Day.
  • The credit sequence is recycled from Blue's Big Treasure Hunt, but Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper now appear in their proper position.
  • This is the first episode to feature the steel guitar at the beginning of the demo song. It will be used in later episodes.

Goofs[]

  • After Steve placed all groceries on the shelf and just when Blue placed her pawprint on the screen, the two grocery bags disappear.
  • The popcorn is one of the food that is not stored in the fridge. This is incorrect as popcorn is never refrigerated.
    • A similar goof happens in the earlier episode Snack Time, but with graham crackers.
  • Even though this episode aired in 1999, the closing logo shows the episode copyrighted as 1998 instead of 1999, revealing this was actually taped in late 1998.
  • After Steve draws the third clue (a scale) the pawprint is still seen on the scale.
  • There are several cut offs in this episode:
    • When Steve enters the kitchen, before the scene changes.
    • Steve's right arm (viewers' left) after finding the first clue.
    • The right side (viewers' left) of the thinking chair during mailtime, and figuring out all three clues.
    • When Steve walks to the bathroom.
    • Steve is cut off before Blue weights herself and walks out of the bathroom.
    • When Steve walks back to the living room.
    • Steve's right arm (viewers left) at the very end of the episode.
