This is LF89Thunda's PVP guide.
NOTE:[]
This guide is only for PVP tips and hitbox info, not on which fruits to use. But this does have recommendations.
Races[]
Starting off, you will want to at least get race V3. This will boost your overall gameplay. We will list the pros and cons of each race (V4)
Each Race's Pros:[]
- Human: Fast one shot combos and killing one person makes it easier to kill another one consecutively. Higher damage also can preserve skills. Some abilities such as Flash Step are also enhanced. Human v3 is one of the worst as it only gives damage buffs when your low and with human which has no defence you will die easily. Not recommended for beginners.
- Rabbit: You can use the tornado ability to lay traps that can drain Instinct. You are also faster, which makes Shark v4 a little underpowered against this race. It has no defence and is not recommended for beginners.
- Shark: You can slow down people by playing passive, which makes the opponent a sitting duck for one of your combos (unless they are rabbit). You can also counter combos with your [T] ability. With this race, you will also have an upper hand in PVP near the sea since you won't take damage. It has a lot of defence and no offence but it is really good to survive combos. Recommended for beginners.
Note: Shark v4's passive levaithans armor has been nerfed as some of the damage leaks through to sheild but still really op.
- Cyborg: Hitting a move will add bonus damage. (tick damage) there is also chain damage if you are getting teamed on which can counter teamers. Really good because it's v3 breaks instinct and gives 30% defence buff along with the 10% defence towards swords, guns and melee. Recommended for beginners.
- Angel: Fruits that have AOE stuns eg. gravity x, dark c, you name it, will be given much higher damage and skills like most godhuman and superhuman skills will apply damage when any of their traveling move hits them. Really good stun for v4 and good healing (20% of total health) and 15% defence with v3. Recommended for beginners.
- Ghoul: Dashing close to your opponent will damage them. It also looks cool, which does not matter. You can also fight teamers, because if you are low and end up killing one, then you will regenerate, equaling you up with the other/s. Not recommended for beginners.
Each Race's Cons:[]
- Human: No defense, making it really easy to kill Human users
- Rabbit: No defense & not a good damage dealing race.
- Shark: No damage, however it is worth it considering the pros being insanely good,
- Cyborg: Little defense, which is worth it considering the huge amount of damage this race can give.
- Angel: Doesn't excel in anything. However it isn't bad at anything either.
- Ghoul: Doesn't excel in anything. However it isn't bad at anything either. The V4 can serve as combo breakers and damage dealer.
Best Playstyle for each race[]
- Human: Aggressive
- Rabbit: Aggressive & Passive
- Shark: Passive
- Ghoul: Aggressive & Passive
- Angel: Aggressive & Passive
- Cyborg: Aggressive
Race Choices:[]
For PVP beginners you can start of with passive races such as Shark or simple races such as Ghoul, however when you get more advanced you'll might to want to use Human, Angel or Cyborg due to their damage.
Basics[]
Make sure to get all 4 abilities, Flash Step, Skyjump, Aura, and Instinct.
Always have your aura turned on, as this allows you to hit elemental users, and gives you a defense and attack buff. Flash steps can be used to make distance based combos, although you can also use a dash move from a sword, fruit, or fighting style. And get skyjump from the ability teacher, this allows you to play an air game. Also you should get instinct, because this allows you to dodge attacks, and is the closest thing you can get to a shield or a block in a traditional fighting game.
Use your dash a lot, because the mobility you get from it is more impressive than just walking/running around.
Try not to fight too close to water (unless you have Shark race) falling in it could cause death. You can even be dragged into water by certain swords, fruits, and fighting styles.
If you aren't good at combos, use the fastest projectiles you have at access to at a distance.
Try not to hold abilities that don't have a hold bonus, as just tapping them can give the same results (exceptions do exist though)
And if you are new to PVP, go to areas that aren't too crowded with people that fight a lot, but not a dead area. This way you can still learn how to PVP even without being at a high risk of teamers or people with a high bounty advantage.
Advanced[]
Unpredictable Movement[]
Predictable Movement: going in circles or just one direction, not even using your other mobility options.
Unpredictable Movement: Mixing up your movement, such as shifting directions every few dashes, and maybe adding in a flash step or a few skyjumps. You can even squeeze in teleport F moves like Paw F, Dark F, or Rumble F in the mix. Just make sure to come up with new movement patterns each time, or else your opponent will memorize it, and then it will become predictable.
Recognizing Trajectory[]
Trajectory is where your opponent is sent after a move with knockback. Recognizing it allows you to know which move to use next, which opens up for combos. An upwards trajectory is something like Electric Claw C.
Endlag and Startup[]
Endlag is how many frames you have of disability after a move. Startup/Startlag is how many frames you have before your move executes. Startup is usually not a lot.
Combos[]
Combo is a important technique in PVP which chain multiple move to deal massive damage while the opponent is unable to escape. However, time and prediction is needed in a combo and the user will need to react fast if their combo is miss/interrupt because if they don't, they will might get punished by the enemy. The combo is recommended to be one shot and can't be ken trick. Here are more details on combos.
Ken trick[]
Ken trick is a mechanic in game which allow the user to dodge a specific move if they enable instinct in the right time. Timing is needed for ken trick. Ken tricking is useful in many situations, especially in some combos that are usually unescapable.
Build Choices[]
In PvP, you'll want to maximize especially your stuns and damage. So you'll want to look for fruits that deal high damage and great stuns, such as Dough or Rumble. However if a fruit has other insane pros, such as Leopard having incredibly low cooldowns, you might wanna use them as well. Some decent-good fruits for PVP are:
- Easy to use: Dough V2, Buddha V1/V2, Leopard, Ice V1/V2, Venom, Mammoth, Blizzard, Magma V1/V2
- Medium difficulty: Rumble V2, Love, Dark V2, Sand V2, Spirit, Dragon, Phoenix, Light, Flame V2, Control, Shadow, Sound
- Hard to use: Pain, Portal, Control
(Note that the harder/more skilled a fruit requires doesn't necessarily mean the more good it is for PVP, for example Pain requires more skill than Dough V2 but doesn't mean it's better)
Blox Fruits are not the only things that matter in PVP, because they have a limited amount of skills. So while you wait for the cooldown on your skills to end, you'll want to have other damage dealers, such as swords and guns. They don't need to deal lots of damage since they serve as time consumers while you wait (however you can be a sword/gun main, in this case damage is also important), all they need are stuns. Some decent-good swords and guns are:
- Swords: CDK, Spikey Trident, Pole V2, TTK, Soul Cane, Shark Anchor, Yama, Tushita, Dark Blade
- Guns: Acidum Rifle, Kabucha, Serpent Bow, Soul Guitar
It is almost mandatory to have your Melee maxed because it increases your energy, so how to utilize it? Fighting styles are also really important damage dealers in PVP, like fruits, they need good stuns and damage. Here are some good fighting styles for PVP:
Godhuman, Sanguine Art, Electric Claw, Dragon Talon, Superhuman
Counters[]
Fruit Mains:[]
Ice- Just keep distance so u dont get hit by the V move. Skycamp A LOT and don’t pay attention for the toxicity. Try using a combo as fast as possible AND NEVER STEP ON THE ICE or they will start some combos that drain your health rapidly. Take an advantage when they miss.
Dough V2- Extremely hard to counter these players. Try your best not to die by using the [T] ability of some races. Take advantage when they are on cooldown since Dough has high cooldown time, this can be done by wasting their moves.
Rumble- watch out for the V move, never use the flash step or else u can can escape combos from just spamming "R". Also like ice combo ASAP. Also they are probably new to bounty hunting or super pros (almost no one in between).
Buddha- Buddhas are simple, spam your moves because theres no reason on comboing them since it wont deal much damage.
If you are using Dough V2 spam the "TAP" for them it will knockback them and give some decent damage. If they get too close and start draining instinct and dealing high dmg, use a high knockback move like Kabucha X
Quake- watch out for the tsunamis, NEVER HAVE INSTINCT ON IT WILL BREAK ON MATTER OF SECONDS. Keep distance, and combo when they miss.
Leopard- Keep distance move a lot and combo they just spam so don’t worry a lot they are easy to kill. Make sure to have a medium-long range build.
Dragon- COMBO ASAP before they transform. If they transform you should just run since they are almost unkillable and if you are new to bounty hunting you surely won’t be able to kill them. If they transform, take advantage of its hitbox, if they untransformed and is running, try to stun them, and combo them with everything you got.
Light- MOVE A LOT, almost all of there moves stun and have OUTSTANDING DAMAGE and stuns. A good strategy is to run, and then when they use the flight combo them, they will be defensless.
Magma- They often just spam. Move a lot and don’t waste flash steps so u can escape from the magma, and combo them. Try to skycamp as most of there moves are almost useless in air.
Venom- Just combo them after they use the "C" move (the cloud of poison) because it counters big part of the skills END THEM FOR ME DO ME A FAVOR!
Love- KILL THEM AS FAST AS POSSIBLE or they will run with the flamingo. MOVE A LOT, one shot combo ASAP
Portal- Kill them ASAP move a lot. Simple, prepare to run as soon as you get dragged into their dimension cause they are likely gonna combo you after you get kicked out.
Gun & Sword mains:[]
CDK- COMBO ASAP they are EXTREMLY DANGEROUS high damage and have some spam potential. Keep Instinct off so that you can escape by turning it on when they use CDK Z or X (if they hold Z and you're in the Z move then DON'T TURN INSTINCT ON).
Acidum Rifle- Keep some distance, move a lot try to not get hit (high poison damage).
Builds for different bounty levels[]
From 2.5 million bounty to 5 million bounty you'll want to use Dough V2, Cursed Dual Katana(CDK), Electric Claw and Kabucha. This build helps you get used to combos. Some combos include: Dough V, Electric Claw C, Dough X, Electric Claw Z, Dough C, CDK Z (looking down), Kabucha X, Cdk X and then finish it off with Dough Z (Ground combo). If your in the air use Electric Claw C, Dough X, Electric Claw Z, Dough C, CDK Z, Kabucha X, CDK X, Dough V and finish it off with Dough Z (Air and ground combo as Electric Claw c brings the enemy to the ground).
From 5 million to 10 million get used to sword main with Portal, Cursed Dual Katana, Soul Guitar and Godhuman. In this case you will use the fruit (Portal) as help to aid your sword(s).
