To'kustars (pronounced "Toe-coo-star" in Destroy All Aliens and "Toe-ku-star" in Cosmic Destruction and Omniverse)[1][BTP 1] are a species who are created during unpredictable cosmic storms.[AF Mini Bible 1][pop-up 1][2]
Appearance[]
To'kustars are gigantic humanoid creatures with four-fingered hands and extremely muscular bodies that generally have a white base color for their body, face, limbs, and hands with details such as their torso and legs stripes, shoulder spots, stum-like feet, head and shoulder blades, in a primary or secondary color. The only exceptions to this are Evil Way Big and the Way Bads, who all have a grey base color.
Some of them have pieces of metal colored armor.[DJW 1]
To'kustars get bigger as they age.[DM 1]
Behavior[]
To'kustars live alone at the edge of the galaxy, silently guarding against threats from beyond.[DJW 2]
Reproduction[]
To'kustars are created during unpredictable cosmic storms.[pop-up 1][2] Not much is known about these special and large storms, let alone what even causes them to happen, aside from the fact that they are the reason why To'kustars exist.
Powers and Abilities[]
To'kustars can shoot a powerful cosmic ray[DM 2][note 1] from the outer edge of their right hand by crossing their arms together.[note 2] Their cosmic rays are powerful enough to overpower the Incursean Conquest Ray.[4][DR 1]
To'kustars are very strong, being able to hurl targets into orbits from planets with an atmosphere as thick as Earth's,[MW 1] as shown when Way Big threw Vilgax (who was Way Big's size at the time) into orbit from Primus.[5] They can even lift objects larger and heavier than him, as Way Big managed to lift the Hyperspace Jump Gate.[6] To'kustars are also powerful enough to destroy a small planet[JK 1] and generate massive tremors similar to a 7.0 earthquake by stomping their feet.[Bandai 1]
To'kustars have great durability, as Way Big was able to withstand attacks from strong opponents his size, such as the Trash Monster,[7] a giant Trombipulor,[8] a giant Malware[9] and several Way Bads.[4]
To'kustars can jump very high.[9] They also have extremely quick reflexes, as Way Big was able to react to Milleous' Incursean Conquest Ray.[4]
To'kustars possess enhanced speed, as Way Big able to run fast enough to generate a massive vortex that was powerful enough to launch the Trash Monster out of orbit.[7][note 3] To'kustars also have massive strides, so they can get to their destinations quicker than other aliens.[DJW 4]
To'kustars can survive in the vacuum of space and in extreme temperatures, either hot or cold.[Bandai 1]
Weaknesses[]
The frills on the heads of To'kustars are by far their greatest weakness, as attacking it will cause them great pain and stun them.[10][11]
Smaller opponents such as Nanomech can take advantage of a To'kustar's large size and attack them without noticing, as demonstrated when Nanomech entered Way Big's ear and began attacking him from inside, immediately incapacitating him.[3]
To'kustars are vulnerable to powerful discharges of electricity, such as that of the Mechamorph Armor and the Hyperspace Jump Gate.[11][6]
To'kustars can be rendered unconscious if hit by many sedative quills from a member of Argit's species.[4]
To'kustars can be controlled by Vladats via their Corrupturas.[DJW 5]
Video Games[]
In Cosmic Destruction timeline, To'kustars possess ability to generate and control cosmic storms at will, which enables them to easily cross interstellar distances at will. They are large enough to dwarf Rainbow Bridge while standing in Tokyo Bay. Aside from standard cosmic rays, these To'kustars can release short bursts of cosmic energy, summon small vortexes and their cosmic rays can easily destroy dwarf planets like Pluto.

Naming and Translations[]
Language | Name | Origin |
---|---|---|
Spanish (HA) | To'kustar Kustar (The Frogs of War: Part 1) To'kuestrella (said by Servantis in Weapon XI: Part 2 and by Rook in Rook Tales) |
From the original English name; pronounced /'tokʊstar/ or /tokʊs'tar/. Dub error; pronounced /kʊs'tar/. From toku (see Etymology) and estrella, star. |
Etymology[]
The name To'kustar is a play on "tokusatsu" a medium of Japanese cinema that relies on special effects which is often shortened to "toku" and the word star. To'kustars are similar visually and in power set to the original Ultraman, a "Star" of the "Toku" genre.
Trivia[]
- To'kustars can be subdued by the Hephestan Neuro Grip, but only if this move were to be performed by beings with hands much bigger than Slapstrike's.[DJW 7][DJW 8]
- To'kustars are the ultra-rarest species in the universe because of their immense size.[pop-up 2][2][Bandai 1]
- To'kustars do not have a native home planet.[pop-up 1][2]
Notes[]
- ↑ Way Big's cosmic rays were originally colored pale blue in Ultimate Alien before being recolored green in Omniverse. Meanwhile, alternate versions of Way Big are shown firing cosmic rays in different colors. For example, Ben Tennyson (Mad Dimension)'s Way Big fires orange cosmic rays.[3]
- ↑ In Ultimate Alien, Way Big's cosmic ray attack was executed by crossing his arms in an "L" shape, with his right forearm vertical and left forearm horizontal in front of it and the thumb edge of his hands facing his body. In Omniverse, this move is slightly revised, as Way Big now crosses his arms in an "X" shape.
- ↑ According to Derrick J. Wyatt, Way Big's enhanced speed was due to a glitch with the original Ultimatrix. This ability was removed from Way Big's DNA when Ben acquired the new Omnitrix in The Ultimate Enemy: Part 2.[DJW 3] However, it is unknown if this is canon as Matt Wayne seemed to be unaware of the existence of glitch powers.[MW 2]
