Ruby is a female contestant in Battle for Dream Island Again, IDFB, and Battle for BFB.

In Battle for Dream Island, Ruby was one of the 30 recommended characters that had a chance to join the show in "The Reveal". The votes for the debut were revealed in "Reveal Novum" and she only got 22 votes which was not enough to join, placing her 5th to join the season.

In Battle for Dream Island Again, Ruby joined the season with 381 votes, being placed 12th to join the season. Ruby competed on Team No-Name until "Get in the Van" when she switched to FreeSmart, however, in "Taste the Sweetness" she switched to The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute before switching back to FreeSmart in "Lots of Mud". In PointyPointyPointy ♫, she teamed up in a duo with Book, however, she was eliminated in "Spore Day" with 32,594 votes, placing 10th overall.

Personality[]

Ruby is a bubbly, silly and curious contestant. She enjoys playing around with other contestants, notably Bubble and Flower. She has also been shown to look up to characters with leadership roles such as Match and Pencil, although she can display these traits on her own quite well, as seen in "Return of the Rocket Ship," and "Don't Dig Straight Down,"

BFDI[]

In "Reveal Novum", Ruby was desperate and fast-talking as seen in her audition tape, as fast as she could, she asked the viewers "Please, please, please can I join the game, please, please please?" which only gave her 22 votes, not enough to join.

BFDIA and IDFB[]

She can be sensitive at times, as seen in "No More Snow!", as she starts crying after Pencil yells at her. She's also shown to be a bit dim-witted in "Welcome Back", as she stupidly jumps down the spiral staircase of the Yoyle Needy to get to the bottom, only to shatter into pieces.

She also has a selfish side, as shown in "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4" where she is revealed to have betrayed her sisters to audition for BFDI.

Battle for BFDI[]

Ruby’s personality undergoes a shift, becoming more passive and critical. In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset," she watches Flower get zapped by Lightning with little concern, despite their past friendship. In "Fortunate Ben," she judges Flower’s physique, and in "What Do You Think of Roleplay?" she shows a vengeful side by confronting Foldy over iance's loss.

In "Return of the Rocket Ship" and "Don't Dig Straight Down," Ruby takes on more of a leadership role, directing her team to dig and steering them away from Golf Ball. This shift could be due to Match’s elimination, which left iance without a clear leader, allowing Ruby to step into the role.

Battle for BFB[]

After the split, Ruby’s leadership role ends, but "X Marks the Spot" highlights her caring nature and responsibility as she comforts Bubble and takes charge by driving the FreeSmart Supervan. "Chapter Complete" emphasizes Ruby’s enthusiastic and carefree personality, as she eagerly supports Flower and enjoys the deep-fried prize.

Ruby demonstrates resourcefulness by fixing the Supervan and using it to lead the group. Ruby remains optimistic and fun-loving even in chaotic situations, showing her loyalty and concern for others when helping to convince Four to return. Her observant side is evident when she notices Teardrop’s absence, further showcasing her care for her fellow contestants.

When we first met Ruby, she is sweet and sensitive, a gem of a person. Get it? Gem? LOL. Despite her brilliance, others may see Ruby as an irresponsible scatterbrain. She acts before she thinks, which often leads to mistakes.

Ruby's fans are just as enthusiastic as she is, saying her name hundreds of times in each vote.

Abilities[]

• Impalement: In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Ruby rotates her body and points her sharp tip upwards and says, "9 Mohs hardness scale point activate!", intending on impaling all of the members of Beep before they fall on her team. This ability is not shown during the episode.
• Refraction: As shown in "How Loe Can You Grow?", if Ruby positions herself directly with the sun, she can reflect light and act as a lens. The light she reflects can be used to help plants grow, as well as cause fires.
• Strong jaws: In BFB 2, when she is given cake, she eats it, making a knife sound effect while causing the cake to blow up. Her teeth are shown to be fangs in this scene.
• Functioning on low oxygen: In A Taste Of Space, Bubble uses a straw to transfer CO₂ to Ruby's mouth, allowing her to breathe.
• Seamless swapping: From Insectophobe's Nightmare 4 to Spore Day, Ruby and her sisters were able to seamlessly swap places with one another, without more than one of them ever being visible at a time.

Battle for Dream Island[]

In "Half a Loaf Is Better Than None", Ruby, as Rubiny, walks into a vat of hydrochloric acid to get the Announcer's marbles.

In "The Reveal", Ruby is one of the 30 handpicked characters who can join BFDI. Her audition shows her begging "Please, please" to the viewers to vote her in.

In "Reveal Novum", when the Announcer flings Nonexisty, Ruby says that he missed him. Ruby's desperate pleads to join the game only gave her 22 votes, placing her in 5th place, and losing to Nickel, Bomby, David, and Evil Leafy. However, if Jacknjellify allowed people to vote more than once, Ruby would've won with 206 votes, but this was not the case and so she got sent to the Locker of Losers.

In "Return of the Hang Glider", she is in the massive crowd of recommended characters who watch the final Cake at Stake from the bleachers.

Battle for Dream Island Again[]

In "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", Ruby received enough votes (381) to join BFDIA. When Puffball suggested that someone switch teams, Ruby is about to make a choice, but Donut talks over her and says that they want Match on their team, which upsets Pencil. Ruby at first says her favorite screen is a star shape, but later changes it in the screen montage to the shape of a recovery center. She decides to stay on the larger team and helps them win easily in the tug or war challenge due to sheer numbers.

In "Get Digging", when W.O.A.H Bunch were on their way to Cake at Stake, numerous clones of Ruby are seen laughing at them along with other members of Team No-Name. When Team No-Name was making Yoylestew, Golf Ball ordered Ruby to get ingredients. While making Yoylestew, Match and Pencil ask Ruby to join their alliance. Ruby asks about Bubble, but she's dead. She then asks about Ice Cube and Match tells her she made an ugly face, which they didn't like. So Ruby decides to join. When Match and Pencil want Bubble back, Ruby tells them not to waste their time bringing her back, as she thought Bubble would replace her spot in the alliance.

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 3", Ruby's team, Team No-Name, was up for elimination. Ruby received 183 likes (placing 12th) and received 158 dislikes. In the contest, Golf Ball asked Ruby, Pencil, and Match why weren't doing the challenge. Match replied that they were excusing themselves from the contest. While the other contestants were doing the contest, Ruby confesses that she was acting weird because she was afraid that if Bubble rejoined the alliance, she would be kicked out. Match reassured her that wouldn't happen before Pencil revives Bubble. Bubble then gets angry and confused about Ruby, stating that she's not in their alliance, and kicks her away. Match then tells Bubble that Ruby is also in the alliance now, which Bubble acknowledges by giving Ruby an "apology slap".

In "Zeeky Boogy Doog", Ruby calls Match nice after she saves Firey's life. Afterward she is killed because of Pin still shaking the Eiffel Tower. Later, Ruby brings Flower back when everyone is reviving someone. After Gelatin froze Flower he scolded Ruby, with Pencil threatening to kick her out of the alliance, saddening Ruby, until Pencil revealed she was joking. When it is time to pick the challenge, Ruby realizes that there's no point in competing if Firey won Dream Island. However, after she spins the wheel, it immediately provides a solution with the next challenge, build Dream Island. She follows Golf Ball and the rest of her team into Golf Ball's Underground Factory to build the island. When it's completed, she suggests calling it poopy mayonnaise, saying it "has a nice ring to it." She is then killed by Bomby's explosion and loses the contest as the dream island was also destroyed.

In "Get in the Van", after she's recovered, Ruby is seen partying with the other alliance members in the Clubhouse of Awesomeness on top of the Eiffel Tower. During Cake At Stake, she receives a piece of Donut as a prize and eats it. She says Donut's blood tastes good, to which Firey corrects her, saying it is cherry filling. Later, when Golf Ball wants all the members of Team No-Name to promise never to leave, Ruby and the rest of the Pencil's Alliance don't promise and leave to make a new team. Ruby jokingly suggests they call their new team "poopy mayonnaise". They decide on the name "FreeSmart", and Ruby cheers with the rest of the team. Ruby then spins the challenge wheel. It lands on "Reach the summit of Yoyle Mountain", and she and asks her team what their plan is. Pencil tells them to "Shut up and GET IN THE VAN!", which Ruby does. Later, while in the van, she asks where all the peanuts went. Pencil says Ruby ate them all, which Ruby denies. As they drive into a snowy area, Ruby makes a snowball and throws it at Book, starting a snowball fight. They approach the edge of Evil Canyon, and Ruby jumps with the rest of FreeSmart to try and get across, only to be eaten by Evil Leafy on the other side.

In "No More Snow!", Ruby and the rest of FreeSmart are trapped on top of Evil Leafy. She accidentally pops Bubble while jumping and asks Pencil if she should press the button. Pencil scolds her, saying of course she should press it, making her cry. Pencil apologizes to Ruby and she stops crying. Ruby presses the green button and the explosion blows away Ice Cube and Match. Pencil scolds her again, asking if she ever went to Gem School. Ruby says no because (as Book informed her), Gem School is only for diamonds. Ruby presses the yellow button that appeared out of nowhere and trapped the team in a cage. Pencil angrily tells Ruby once again to press the red button; when she pressed it, Pencil was zapped by electricity and killed.

Book tells her to press the mysterious purple button, which zaps the two out of Evil Leafy and back to normal size. They tried sneaking away, but Evil Leafy notices, and starts chasing the two. They climb a tree and then cut a wire (rope) holding a 9,042kg block. Puffball and Fries try to save their teammates but also get crushed by the 9,042kg block along with Evil Leafy. Ruby wants to recover her dead team members, but the HPRC was inside Evil Leafy and was crushed, making Ruby die in sadness (allegedly). The W.O.A.H. Bunch catches up and helps them crank the HPHPRCC.

In "It's a Monster", she is first seen cranking while saying to Book that she did not die from sadness as Book had thought. The next day, Ruby gets break time with Match and Book. The next day, Ruby is seen playing a different variation of Spongy Cake, being the second overall to do so and eventually gets back to cranking. Ruby is nervous upon realizing the HPHPRCC is going to explode, she even hallucinates it exploding, letting out a scream in the process. Book calms her down, pointing out the HPHPRCC simply disappeared without a trace. When all the team members have been recovered, FreeSmart embarked on the journey to Yoyle Mountain. Ruby asks Pencil if she is sad about the recent loss of the FreeSmart Van, to which Pencil unveils the FreeSmart SuperVan.

When Book realizes that they did not bring the HPRC with them, Ruby agrees with Pencil, suggesting they steal. Later, she reveals that she saved snowballs in the mini-fridge and starts a snowball fight. At the end of the episode, Pencil drives the van through the Goiky Canal, and Ruby sometimes revives team members who can't hold their breath or needs to be revived, while dying many times herself.

In "The Long-lost Yoyle City", Ruby collects some Yoyleberries and gives a couple to Bubble, not hearing Book reminding them that they'll turn into metal. Ruby carries out the HPRC when they are about to trek in Yoyle City but accidentally ends up putting it in glue that came from gasoline mixing with snow, annoying Match and Pencil, even to the point where Pencil tells Ruby to stop making mistakes, to which she agrees. After the team kills Pencil when she got stuck in a Fish Monster's tongue, Ruby recovers the dead Pencil. Later, Ruby's team gets to the actual summit and wins the contest. At the end of the episode, she asks how they will get down from the summit of Yoyle Mountain but moments later all of the contestants are seen plummeting towards the ground, screaming.

In "Well Rested", the contestants are still falling from the summit. Ruby spends her time offering yoyleberries to any one who wants them until they crash into the ground. She spots a gray speaker box and thinks it's the original Announcer, but they say they're the Firey Speaker Box. Ruby is excited to learn that he "likes" yoyleberries and starts barraging him with berries. Because Ruby glued the only recovery center in Yoyleland, the contestants decide that they'll continue living there. The challenge is to find a place to sleep so FreeSmart gets into the FreeSmart SuperVan to find the Pillow Marketplace. Pencil doesn't seem to know where she's driving so Ruby looks up where the Pillow Marketplace is in Book's pages. She learns that it's on one of the higher floors of the Yoyle Needy. The team grabs some balloons to carry the SuperVan to the top floor of the Yoyle Needy. At one point, Ruby hops off to enjoy herself at the Yummy Filtration Plant. They end up crashing into a dehumidifier pipe and the SuperVan starts to fill with water, forcing everyone to hold their breath.

Once the sun sets, the team is completely submerged underwater. They pull out some snorkels and jam them through the roof of the van, allowing them to breathe. Suddenly, the van's weight causes the pipe they're stuck to to tilt. Ruby uses this oppurtunity to have the FreeSmart SuperVan's magnet steal W.O.A.H. Bunches pillows and blankets. The pipe then balances itself out, and the two team's face off against each other on the pipe, with Ruby and Bomby dueling each other. They start to lose balance when Spongy runs on the opposite end of the pipe, causing the pipe to rotate again. The end of the pipe with the FreeSmart SuperVan hits Pin's point, causing the water from inside the van to burst out and flood the aerospace building. They eventually realize they should be sleeping, not fighting, so FreeSmart tries to go to sleep quickly. W.O.A.H. Bunch continues to try and sabotage them, now by telling scary stories. Coiny starts repeating Evil Leafy, which makes the FreeSmart members wince in their sleep. Eventually, Evil Leafy appears and attempts to attack either W.O.A.H. Bunch or FreeSmart, but she keeps switching away from the team that's underwater. Ice Cube eventually pulls out the balloons from the van and has everyone tie one around themselves in order to escape the predicament below. Once everyone is in the sky, Ice Cube plays relaxing music that puts the team to sleep, so FreeSmart wins the challenge, coming in second. In the stinger, the team decides to start recording video diaries together. Ruby insists on being the cameraman, not realizing that the camera lens hasn't been removed.

In "Meaty" Book introduces the FreeSmart alliance to the remains of the Aerospace plant with Ruby expressing the beauty of the remains. Ruby soon finds several gears in a pile and stated that the gears would looks fabulous as earings for Pencil with her agreeing. When Firey Speaker Box approached the team saying if they were ready to do Cake at Stake, Pencil instantly disagreed but Ruby stated that she was ready for Cake at Stake asking the speaker box if they can do it in the Clubhouse of Awesomeness which the speaker box agrees.

In the Clubhouse, she sees Firey and Gelatin and wants to immediately kick them out stating that they're not FreeSmarters Book blocked her kick and told Ruby that they must be included but blocking the kick caused Ruby to shatter. With an unknown reason, Ruby came back to life to spin the wheel to choose her prize for getting the most likes from viewers getting the prize "Time Travel to 10 seconds and be reassembled." Asking the speaker box if she can have a different prize, the prize was already granted and the speaker box told Ruby to be thankful to which she responded that she was not.

After Ice Cube and Gelatin are both safe respectively, Ruby told Pencil to remind her that she was in the bottom two with Firey with Pencil stating that she wasn't afraid that she would get eliminated due to Firey not being a true FreeSmart member. Revealing that Firey is eliminated, Firey marched up to Ruby saying that he was only on the FreeSmart team just to get Ruby's yoyleite Ruby stated if Tennis Ball wanted the yoylite so badly he should've switched to the team. As soon as Firey was eliminated, Firey Speaker Box became an emotional wreck with Ruby even tipping him over and not reacting.

In "Catch These Hands", Gelatin finds Ruby's remains from last episode. Meanwhile, Ice Cube mentions that she's strawberry milk, to which Ruby recovers herself with the HPRCBIFBOTET. She then tries to bite Ice Cube but fails and barfs out lead paint. Book asks Ruby how she was able to recover herself and she responds that the yoylite stayed her partially alive. Meanwhile, the lead paint that Ruby barfed starts to devour the Eiffel Tower, with the elimination being taken place in the Clubhouse of Awesomeness. After the elimination, Ruby is devastated that the Clubhouse of Awesomeness got devoured.

During the challenge, Book's charade is rowing a boat. Ruby answers that Book is trying to unclog her "Yoyletoilet", which was incorrect. In a last ditch effort, Book opens herself and shows the word "Rowing", but Ruby couldn't read as she didn't went to gem school. Later on, Pencil's charade is blowing a candle, and Ruby guesses Yoyletoilet again which was incorrect. Pencil does her ultimate candle blowing technique and accidently recovers Bubble. Ruby and the others were happy that bubble was back and Ice Cube shouts her name, but it is interpreted as an incorrect guess so Bubble died and Pencil got sent to Hell.

Ruby's next charade was to do the Salmon Fiveyears dance. Ruby guesses Ice Cube's charade correctly, and says her prompt. Book reads her lips, but Puffball Speaker Box said it was cheating so Book was blindfolded. Ruby's replacement prompt was eating sugar. Ice Cube guesses wrong twice, so Ruby shows what she does after she eats the sugar, which causes the chamber to start rolling down a hill. The remaining FreeSmart members follow her and Ice Cube guesses her gesture. After a couple more charades the chamber hits a tree at the bottom, causing it to break and book to read the word "lips", getting disqualified and killed. Since the chamber was broken, they couldn't continue the challenge, and since no one was around to stop them, FreeSmart was safe.

In "Taste the Sweetness", Ruby is first shown playing "Ring Around the Slammer" with Ice Cube, Bomby, and Needle. When Bomby decides to make an alliance called "Taking Out the Trash", Ruby pulls Ice Cube aside and tells her that Bomby and Needle aren't FreeSmarters. When she says that FreeSmart won't last forever and that they should have other options in case of dissolution, Ruby gets mad at her and says she broke the number one FreeSmart loyalty rule, and that she must pay. So she puts her in the trash compactor, and says wrong answers, crushing Ice Cube. Then Ruby, along with Needle, Bomby, and PSB take Lewis's car to Yoyleland to recover everyone who got crushed in the previous episode. On the way, she says she misses her alliance. When they arrive, Ruby helps recover everyone. Before the challenge, Ruby joins the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute.

During the challenge, Golf Ball puts Ruby, along with Tennis Ball and Coiny, in charge of making ice cream. Inside Gelatin's Steakhouse, the three try to pull open the door leading to the ingredient room, to no success. Once they get the password to the room, Ruby and Coiny ravage the room for ingredients for ice cream. Ruby and Coiny start making ice cream, and finish their first gallon. Ruby eats the ingredients and the ice cream while Coiny makes it, but they manage to make 500 gallons of it. However, the sprinklers turn on, and all of their ice cream is melted, causing Ruby to be up for elimination.

In "Lots of Mud", Ruby is first shown with The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute as they are all worried about their elimination, until Ice Cube cheers them up with her beautiful face. After Puffball Speaker Box asks them to walk three miles to the elimination space, she walks with her team as Fries heckles them. She was the fourth contestant safe, receiving only 6264 dislikes. She receives her prize and eats it despite Book warning her not to. Seeing that Ice Cube is in the bottom two, Ruby hopes with her team that she is safe.

Before the challenge, Ruby leaves The Beautiful Face Devotion Institute after seeing Ice Cube's ugly face. However, she later decides to reform FreeSmart with the rest of her alliance, deciding on the name "Less-Restaind Less-Dumb" because Ruby doesn't like names with 'R' in them.

During the challenge, seeing that Ruby is trying to rip her petals off, Flower locks them using tungsten locks, much to Ruby's shock. Book tells her to stop trying to rip them off as tungsten is the strongest metal, bragging that she is a chemistry textbook, to which ruby slaps her and tells her to stop bragging. Later, Ruby and her team try to give Flower a makeover to get her to rip her own petals off, this plan fails because Ice Cube keeps calling Flower ugly. Finally, Ruby pulls Jack's hair out of her mouth and puts it on top of Flower. Flower likes it and lets FreeSmart access one of her petals. However, FreeSmart still lost the challenge due to ripping off the least petals.

Also, During the stinger, Ruby mentions that she is sad her team lost, but that Flower looks like Cary.

In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4", during the elimination, Ruby received the most likes and spins the prize wheel. It lands on "Shrink a contestant of your choice" and she's given a shrink ray. She asks Book who she should pick, and Book says whoever likes FreeSmart the least. Ruby goes around asking everyone if they like FreeSmart, and they all say yes, except for Pin. She gets nothing back from Pin, so she zaps her, shrinking her.

During the challenge, she shields herself with a sweater and the bug splatters on it. She wears the sweater, asking how it looks. After Needle opens the doorway outside, everyone still alive exits the store. The FreeSmarters follow Golf Ball and Tennis Ball behind them to the Bug Hive. She pulls the other two into a bush to hear Golf Ball. Inside the hive, she starts counting the dots on the bugs, but finds a strange hallway. She goes past it and finds her 35 sisters. She goes to hug them but they back away, saying that she crushed their dreams of joining BFDI. In the flashback, Ruby's sisters are pleading the Announcer into joining the show, while Ruby is seen eating gumdrops behind them. She then becomes hyper and pushes her sisters aside, asking if she can join the show. Diamond tells her that all her sisters went to school, but she was being so cocky that she was casted for BFDI. Then they all laugh at her, making her sad.

Later, she asks why they all lived next to a hive, and they respond that they wanted to stay away from the "cameras", which confused Ruby into asking what "cameras" to which they don't have a clue. They then want to compete like Ruby, so they show up randomly for each scene where Ruby was supposed to be in for the rest of the episode, leaving the actual Ruby's whereabouts unknown.

In "Well, Look Who It Is!", due to the fact that she is currently being replaced by her sisters, Ruby only makes a brief appearance during the 3D-animated scene.

In "PointyPointyPointy ♫," Ruby encourages FreeSmart to enter the ship on Teardrop's island, despite Bubble's hesitation. They navigate several flights of stairs until they reach a room with a map of the island. They figure out that the raft is located underneath the ship. However, as they attempt to retrieve it, Evil Leafy blocks their only exit.

As Evil Leafy lunges towards them, the group scatters, but the door is blocked again. Bubble spots a trapdoor so Ruby and Pencil try to open it. However, the door is locked and the handle breaks off. Thinking quickly, Book uses Needle to pry it open, allowing them to escape. Outside, the FreeSmarters are relieved to have escaped, but Ruby notices Book is missing. Pencil, fearing the worst, says that Book made a noble sacrifice and that they should move on. Just then, Book emerges from the water, having survived, and the group shares a joyful hug. Evil Leafy intervenes, but Needle grabs the ship and throws it on top of her, allowing the team to find the raft underneath. During this scene, Ruby does not shift into any of her sisters.

In "Spore Day," Pencil uses water on a dehydrated caterpillar, reviving it, and everyone cheers in excitement. However, Nickel quickly reminds Ruby and Book that they are up for elimination, urging them to stop cheering and focus on their situation. Later, during the cake at stake, Firey Jr reveals that Book wins the prize, and Ruby is eliminated. Pin turns to Ruby with a smirk, commenting, "that's called karma, with extra paprika".

As a flinger prepares to send Ruby to the WTF, Ruby desperately begs the hosts to let her stay, reminding them that she won the prize last time and believes she deserves another chance. However, Roboty, unfazed by her pleas, denies her request. With that, Ruby gets flung away, followed by all of her sisters who replaced her, adding a comedic touch to her elimination as they scatter in a flurry.

In "Start the Shift", Ruby, Firey, and the other eliminated contestants leave the Weak Trembling Fortress (WTF) and take on the responsibility of hosting the remainder of BFDIA. Upon their arrival, Ruby is delighted to reunite with Book, Needle, and Pencil, joyfully calling it a FreeSmart reunion before she and Ice Cube join the group hug.

Later, Fries questions the eliminated contestants about their unexpected presence outside the WTF. Golf Ball explains that the fortress is undergoing fumigation due to a "pest" infestation, referring to Ruby's sisters. Ruby, offended by the remark, defends her sisters, asserting they aren't pests, but Golf Ball adamantly disagrees, insisting that they are.

During Cake at Stake, Ruby announces that Pin is safe with 15,463 dislikes but follows up with a sharp comment, calling her gross. As Pin begins to respond, Ruby cuts her off by throwing Pin's slice of cake at her. As the ceremony continues, it is revealed that Pencil is the one eliminated. Refusing to accept her fate, Pencil orders Book and Needle to initiate the Elimination Prevention Plan. The two quickly tape Pencil to the ground and place a shatterproof box over her, labeled "Elimination Prevention Box."

Ruby climbs onto the box, questioning whether this means Pencil doesn’t want to host with the rest of them. Upon hearing this, Pencil bursts out of the box with renewed enthusiasm, eagerly asking what her first task as a host will be. Ruby tells her to calm down and allow the contestants to focus on switching teams.

For the next challenge, contestants are tasked with "being their truest selves," requiring them to restore their original appearances, as many have undergone significant changes. Ruby and the other eliminated contestants return to the WTF to spectate and ensure they don’t interfere with the challenge. With that, the contest begins.

Later, Ruby, Ice Cube, and Pencil are standing outside the WTF while Book works on her challenge. They call her over to hang out with the FreeSmarters. Book hesitates, explaining she’s in the middle of the challenge, but after Ruby’s persistent pleading, she eventually agrees. Ice Cube asks where she was earlier, and Book mentions needing a makeover, noting there’s a superstore nearby. Before she can finish her explanation, Ice Cube, Pencil, and Ruby are immediately intrigued by the mention of "superstore" and "makeover" and dash off toward the store without hesitation.

At the superstore, Book heads toward the elevator but notices a sign indicating it’s out of order, redirecting her to use the escalator instead. Confused, she remarks that she just used the elevator earlier. Ruby sheepishly admits it’s her fault. Curious, Book asks what Ruby could have possibly done. The scene transitions to a flashback where Ruby, in her excitement to shop, dives into the elevator, accidentally tearing a hole through it as she crashes downward. Returning to the present, Ruby tries to justify her actions, saying she couldn’t contain her enthusiasm. Book sighs and says it’s fine before proceeding to the escalator.

As Book resumes working through the challenge, Ruby compliments her efforts. Book thanks Ruby for the kind words. In the stinger, Ruby, Ice Cube, and Pencil leave the superstore, each carrying an assortment of shopping bags. Pencil admits that the trip was fun and remarks that maybe living in the WTF won't be so bad after all. Ruby, brimming with excitement, tells Pencil she can’t wait to show her room, adding that it’s all set up and ready.

Pencil, puzzled, questions how there could possibly be rooms in the WTF, but Ruby, undeterred, grabs Pencil’s hand and eagerly leads the way. As they head back home, Ruby explains her grand plans for a massive slumber party. She cheerfully adds that they can collect gumdrops, record a few video diaries, and enjoy a night packed with fun activities.

In "Welcome Back", Ruby is seen with the FreeSmarters on the Yoyle Needy. She welcomes everyone to day 1,127 of the FreeSmarters video diary where they eat the gumdrops they collected over the years. However, Pencil realizes that Ruby forgot removed the lens cap. Ruby says she doesn't know what a lens cap is but apologizes anyway. Bubble explains to Ruby that a lens cap is a circular cap needed to remove before recording with a camera. When Book realizes that Ruby may have been recording all the video diaries with the lens cap still on, Ruby makes the excuse that the world is a strange place and anything can happen. She gets shocked when she realizes all the video diaries are just a black screen.

When Ice Cube asks what happened on BFDIA 6, Ruby reveals a chart that shows Puffball being eliminated with 1,455 dislikes. Pencil asks where she got that and Ruby tells her it's a secret and she'll never know. Ruby puts the results over the edge of the tower and teases Pencil to get it. Pencil ends up over the rail and falls. Ruby tries to get down as quickly as possible by falling through the center of the stairwell but shatters on impact with the ground.

At the end of the episode, Book recovers Ruby by typing "ROOOOOBEEEEEEE" instead of her actual name.

Battle for BFDI[]

In "Getting Teardrop to Talk", Ruby is first seen with her alliance. She tells Bubble how cool it is to have a personal recovery center and then follows her alliance to find who keeps popping Bubble. Ruby cheers when she sees Loser. Ruby randomly tells Bubble that Flower is beautiful much to the delight of Flower. Ruby asks Pencil if she is still a member after Bubble gets demoted. Pencil says yes, which makes her both relieved and very happy.

When forming teams, she joins the alliance with Pencil, Match, and Bubble. She also causes her team to merge with another team due to Flower. Ruby tells Pencil how good of an observation she made while naming their team The Alliance.

During the challenge, Ruby and her team jump to get the basket. Match asks Ruby if her eyes are open, Ruby says yes, but closes them after Match told her to close them. Saying if the sun's photons reach her open eyes, it will make her heavier. She thought she was close at one point, however, she wasn't anywhere near and was up for elimination.

In "Lick Your Way to Freedom", Ruby is the second safe in Cake at Stake with 152 votes. In the challenge, she helps her team to lick Ice Cube out of a jawbreaker.

In "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", Ruby gets on her team swing.

In "Today's Very Special Episode", Ruby climbs Bell's string and gets zapped off by Lightning. In the challenge, she is very briefly shown presenting her team's Four makeover with Match, while cosplaying as Pencil.

In "Fortunate Ben", Ruby plays Spongy Cake with Match. Flower pulls her away, and Ruby gets slightly angry. Flower asks Ruby to convince her "ignorant friends" that she's pretty, however, Ruby did not like Flower's appearance at the time. When Flower curls up her arm, Ruby calls her beautiful. They also test out many other different factors.

In "Four Goes Too Far", she is only shown looking at Donut before he pulls out the Twinkle of Contagion, followed by the heart scene.

In "The Liar Ball You Don't Want", Ruby cheers for Loser when he appears at the beginning of the episode. Later, Ruby plays with a broken jawbreaker and shoves a piece onto Fries' face.

In "Enter the Exit", Ruby realizes that Four has the prize, which makes everyone want to bring Four back more.

In "Get to the Top in 500 Steps", Ruby and most of the rest of the team accept that Flower is the one running up the stairs. She then gasps when she sees Flower pull out her Non-Slip Shoes So Ha. Despite her efforts, Flower isn't able to press the button before anyone else, so iance is up for elimination.

In "What Do You Think of Roleplay?", Ruby unfolds Foldy, for messing with her team. When it was time for Cake at Stake, Ruby and the other members were seated near Gelatin's Steakhouse. Ruby was safe with 1,124 votes. Ruby was about to get zapped by Four disguised as X when she flung pickles at him. She was "forgiven" by Bubble for trying to replace her. Later in the challenge, Ruby and Flower conclude that Snowball and Bubble are both real due to their behavior. She wasn't seen again until the stinger end of the episode where Eraser hallucinates Ruby morphing into a pentagon.

In "Return of the Rocket Ship", Ruby attempts to dig for X's treasure with her teeth. Bubble points out it would be faster to use a shovel. Ruby agrees with Bubble and gets shovels for iance so they can start digging, getting into a few conflicts in the process. Later while digging, iance hears a team falling above them. Ruby flips her body upside down to impale them, but Snowball tells her to stop making her pose. After they instead dig sideways, Ruby gets iance to dig a side pit to blow team Beep into so they don't land on Team Ice Cube! and pop Bubble.

In "Don't Dig Straight Down", Ruby is upset with Flower for getting Bubble killed. After Flower says Ruby was about to impale 2 whole teams, Ruby says Bubble's life is special and that Flower instantly loses her flower power. When Lightning asks Snowball if they should be following the coordinates Grassy gave them, Ruby tells Lightning the coordinates. Flower says the emerald is up and Ruby digs upwards, not even noticing her team. Ruby gets woozy later and Snowball calls her a weakling. Ruby realizes she feels nauseous because she senses Golf Ball's presence and agrees with Fanny to turn around. Later, they find another emerald and spend some time digging away from the approaching lava. Ruby smells the fresh air and Golf Ball upwards and turns around. She and her team reach the surface and Snowball gives her a hi-five. She is killed by the lava shortly afterwards.

In "The Escape from Four", Ruby is recovered, along with the many other contestants who died and can be seen approaching Four to watch him struggle at sucking up Spongy. Ruby gets scared as they get closer but gets transfixed by Loser when he appears from Spongy's holes. She later considers switching to TPOT but is convinced to stay on BFB by Four offering A BFB as a prize, making her one of the fourteen contestants to continue competing on BFB. She, along with Four and her thirteen opponents, are transported by Two to an unknown area to compete.

Battle for BFB[]

In "X Marks the Spot", Ruby is placed on the Four Colored Team and comforts Bubble when she is nervous about being on the same team as Leafy. She is then confused as to why Blocky is on the opposite team despite them both being red. In the contest, Ruby pulls out a chest containing the FreeSmart Supervan and drives it to where X is. Her team ends up losing the contest when she has to turn around to pick up Teardrop. The lasso holding X snaps as she turns the van around, causing him to land by the X Colored Team. In the stinger ending, she picks up Teardrop so that they can go shopping.

In "Take the Tower", Ruby is up for elimination with the rest of her teammates. She survives, but just barely with 4,644 votes. During the challenge, Ruby and her teammates decide on how to get into the other team's tower. Ruby helps out her team by supplying them with Flower petals that she bought while they went shopping. She also attempts to throw a rock at the other team's tower, but it falls down a cliff. She later fights with Taco on the extended bracelet. She manages to smack Taco off but then falls herself. In the stinger, she picks up Lollipop, Leafy, and Woody in the FreeSmart SuperVan, and sings, annoying Lollipop.

In "How Loe Can You Grow?", Ruby and Leafy won't stop singing which annoys Lollipop, until the radio randomly gets fixed. Lollipop enthusiastically suggests listening to real music, which Ruby reluctantly decides to do. After having the SuperVan crushed by Four, Ruby tells Lollipop how they got home hours ago, but kept driving cause she wanted more time to sing with Leafy. In the challenge, Ruby alters the sun's rays to X's garden, which turns her into a lens, making the aloe vera grow, giving her team 1 point. Ruby then burns an aloe vera plant, taking away two points from her team. Ruby was later shocked by Woody's death. Ruby asks where her team's spaceship came from, noticing it's made out of cardboard. Her team was up for elimination since the Have Nots spaceship caused the aloe vera to grow taller then Four.

In "A Taste of Space", Ruby is eliminated with 7,573 votes, getting beat by Gelatin by 96 votes. Ruby begs Four to let her stay in the game (similar to her audition in "The Reveal") to which Four declines and sends her to the BRB. Ruby can be seen on The Sun as an animation error after her elimination. In the stinger, she, Balloony, and Spongy all scream in the BRB. The TPOT episode "Seasonal Shift" reveals that Ruby's presence on the Sun was an anomaly.

In "Let's Raid the Warehouse", Ruby can be heard along with Balloony, Spongy, and Loser in the BRB.

In "Who Stole Donut's Diary?", Ruby can be seen in one of Blocky's pranks where he makes a made-up story of him going to jet flying class. Blocky asks Ruby if he was at jet flying class, to which Ruby responds with yes, and its why people call her "Jet-Flying Ruby".

In "Fashion For Your Face!", and "The Hidden Contestant", Ruby can be seen in the BRB.

In "The Tweested Temple", Ruby can be seen in the BRB. She is irritated when she receives another Purple Face advertisement for temple tours on her tablet and blocks it.

In "B.F.B. = Back From Beginning", Ruby is released from the BRB, along with the other eliminated contestants. For the challenge, Ruby occupies the BFB 6 portion. She tells Teardrop that she has to take the twinkle from her and then give it back. So Teardrop looks at her to get the twinkle. Ruby says that she was instructed to make it difficult for the contestants to lose the twinkle, but wants the twinkle again, and looks at Teardrop to get it back. She then points Teardrop to the next challenge.

In "SOS (Save Our Show)", in order to earn more money for the show, Ruby suggests splitting BFB into two shows. The scene then cuts to Gaty, Saw, and Pin on TPOT, and Ruby remembers that they already did that.

In "Chapter Complete", Ruby enthusiastically votes for Flower to win. When the BFB prize becomes deep fried, she pours mustard on it and licks it, saying that it tasted good alone, but is even better now. Later, Ruby and some of the other contestants agree to help X get Four back. After learning from Profily that Four's on their way back to the Pillary Ruins, Ruby says that she knows how to get there quickly, and pulls out the FreeSmart SuperVan. Lollipop recalls the SuperVan getting wrecked and Ruby says that it's been a while since that happened, and that she fixed it. She drives everyone all the way up to The Railway, where they depart the SuperVan to get on the High Speed Express Train. However, Four overhears this and merges with the train to move away faster, so everyone instead uses the Steam Train.

After finally reaching the Pillary Ruins, everyone searches for Four in the Archaic Temple, as Ruby thought it would be the location Four would choose to hide in. Balloony ends up finding Four on the BRB. Four becomes angry when they start to follow him and blasts the BRB off into space, with Ruby finding the ride up fun until Bubble says it isn't. Four then lands the BRB on the sun and merges into it. Everyone manages to make amends with Four and tell him that they had a great time in the season, convincing him to come out of the sun and teleport everyone back to the desert. Ruby is seen at the party and joins Bubble and Flower in eating the grand cake. Near the end of the episode, Ruby is listening to Gelatin as he reads his comic. He asks if they think Teardrop will like it, which makes Ruby realize that Teardrop has been missing for at least a day.

• If voters were allowed to vote more than once, she would've joined the game with 206 votes instead of David in "Reveal Novum".
• Ruby and Fries are the first contestants who had their dislikes decrease in BFDIA. In Ruby's case, she got 158 dislikes in BFDIA 3 and 151 dislikes in BFDIA 5a. Both characters had this happen in the same two episodes.

• Ruby was the first contestant shown to eat a cake in Cake at Stake in BFB.

  • In "No More Snow!", it was said that Book went to sell her for billions of dollars, though later on it was revealed to be a "smear campaign" against her.
• Ruby claims she does not know what "around" means in "X Marks the Spot". Though this could be a lie, as she lied about not knowing how to read in "Catch These Hands" in order to gain sympathy from her friends.
• Rubies have a melting point of 2047 °C, yet in "Don't Dig Straight Down", Ruby is killed by lava that doesn't harm Needle, Naily, or Coiny, who are solid metal.
• In "Let's Raid The Warehouse", Flower said Ruby once sang her a "really weird song". It is likely that the song is "Two Trucks" by Lemon Demon, made notable by a video featuring Ruby singing the song to Flower.
