Bad Piggies Free was a free version of Bad Piggies. It was released on December 12, 2012 (2 days after Angry Birds Star Wars Free was released). It featured 30 levels, 12 levels in Ground Hog Day, and 4 others in other episodes. The Field of Dreams sandbox could also be purchased, with an upgrade to unlock all the levels added at a later date. In 2015, the game was updated to include all of the levels for free, but most of them can be unlocked by watching in-game ads. This is the only version of Bad Piggies Free that still works with iOS 11 or later. Because of this, it is also the only free version of any Angry Birds game that runs on 64-bit architectures.

The app was discontinued when custom parts were added into the full version which became free with ads as a result.
