Sioban McDougal, also known as Silver Banshee was an antagonist in the ninth season of Smallville, appearing in the episode "Escape".
She is the vengeful spirit of a deceased Gaelic heroine who was cursed and sent to the Underworld by her brother. Siobhan managed to escape when Lois Lane unintentionally released her at the McDougal Inn and began possessing and killing its guests. She was sent back to the Underworld after Chloe Sullivan burnt her portrait.
She was played by Odessa Rae.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Siobhan was killed and cursed centuries ago by her younger brother Bevan. She was sent to the underworld, only to return with great strength and a wail that could kill anyone who heard it. The villagers named her the Silver Banshee. Then her brother used an Irish-Scottish ritual to burn her body and her blood so she couldn't return, unless her portrait which acted as a portal to the Underworld had been revealed.
Escape[]

Silver Banshee's portrait hung in the lobby of the McDougal Inn for years and was concealed by a painting of her brother. When Lois Lane and Clark Kent checked into the Inn the former accidentally scratched the portrait with her bag allowing Silver Banshee to escape and inhabit the body of a young female guest.
After she killed the woman's boyfriend, Silver Banshee possessed Chloe Sullivan to seduce Clark Kent, but was foiled. She next took over Lois and lured Oliver Queen out to the woods to kill him. The spirit of Siobhan emerges from Lois' body and prepares to take her revenge on Oliver. She screams her banshee cry at him, forcing Oliver to his knees before her, but Clark arrives and Siobhan stopped.

Clark tried to reason with her, but Silver Banshee attacks him. Clark defended himself with his heat vision, but the interaction of her cry and his heat vision causes an explosion that threw him backwards through the air. Using her sonic scream, Siobhan attacked Clark, who was shoved backwards into a tree.
As Clark got up to attack, Chloe managed to discover that the portal could be closed through fire. Chloe cuts the portrait out of the frame, and places it into the fireplace burning it to a crisp. This closes the portal just as Siobhan was about to attack Clark, and the Silver Banshee is exiled back to the underworld.
