The Reconstructive Experiment Empire Mess is the main antagonist faction in the 10th Super Sentai Series entry Choushinsei Flashman. They are an alien army focused on gene reconstruction, who seek to harvest the genetics of various lifeforms so they can be used for universal conquest.

Overview[]

Taking over planets and using their lifeforms as fodder for its experiments, Mess Empire's goal is to transform its leader, Lah Deus, into the strongest being in the universe. Most of the members of Mess are products of gene splicing of various alien organisms across the galaxy, including their high-ranking "Leh" generals.

In 1966, 20 years before the start of the main series, Mess Empire members were responsible for hiring Alien Hunters to kidnap five children (Flashman members when they were children) in order to gain gene samples from Earthlings, but those children were saved by an alien race known as Flash and were sent to other planets for training. 20 years later, those children returned back to Earth to combat Mess, though they were no longer adjusted to Earth's atmosphere.

History[]

The Mess was originally founded by Lah Deus, a mysterious alien being who sought to become the strongest lifeform in the universe by fusing himself with DNA from various other organisms. To accomplish this, Lah Deus invaded planets all across the universe to harvest genetic material from their lifeforms and recruited a series of "Great Doctors" to perform genetic restructuring surgeries on him to augment his being with the DNA he had harvested.

300 years before the Mess invaded Earth, Lah Deus would abduct a child from Earth whom he raised to be his next Great Doctor, the child would eventually come to be named "Great Doctor Lie Köpflen". From the genetic material Mess had gathered, Kopflen created several monster generals to serve as the commanders of Lah Deus's army.

To gather more genetic samples for their experiments, the Mess employed a mercenary group known as the Alien Hunters to capture lifeforms and bring them to Mess to be used. Among the lifeforms captured by Mess were five human infants, though they were saved by an alien race called the Flash and raised to one day combat the Mess.

Reconstructive Experiment Base Laboh[]

Larbo Ep1

Laboh is the gigantic, saucer-like mothership of Mess. It is here where the Gene Synthesizer used to create Mess's Beast Warriors is stored. The Laboh is capable of traveling through space at high speeds while also entering the atmosphere of a planet. It can also beam lifeforms inside through a ray projected by the red, circular cap on its front.

Gene Synthesizer[]

Laboh Fighter Tripod Ep1

A Laboh Fighter shifting into its tripod mode.

The Gene Synthesizer is the device used by Mess to create Beast Warriors by splicing together various harvested genetic material. It is operated by Lie Kopflen and is designed similar to a pipe organ. By playing the keys on the Gene Synthesizer, the Great Doctor can rearrange the DNA whatever lifeform is used as a test subject and combine it with the DNA of other lifeforms to reforge them into an entirely new being.

Laboh Fighters[]

The Laboh Fighters are the aerial fighters of Mess, dispensed from Laboh. They attack by firing laser bolts and electricity blasts. They can also shift into a three-legged tripod form for greater mobility on the ground.
