Serving as a member of the St. Pastry Order, a religious order dedicated to worshiping the witches, Pastry Cooky is ordered to eliminate Red Velvet Cookie for taking over the Cake Tower, only to discover the truth of the Witches on her mission.
She is voiced by Woo Jeong-shin in Korean, Aoi Koga in Japanese, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey (who also voiced Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog) in English.
Biography[]
Pastry Cookie is a cookie who formerly served in the St. Pastry Order, an order dedicated to worshiping the witches that created the cookies, only for them to be eaten, whom she left her name and her past behind on the day of her Sacred Bringing to become a devoted member of the order, praying every morning and honing her crossbow and intelligence. She fanatically believes in the St. Pastry Order's teachings and devoutly follows its commands without questioning it, using it to exterminate the "unclean", such as Cake Monsters. Pastry Cookie also recites the St. Pastry Order's readings to remember her beliefs when she forgets.
Tragedy at the Tower[]
One day during whilst Pastry Cookie was doing a morning prayer, she was told by Reverend Mother Cookie that the Cake Tower was allegedly infested by Cake Monsters, whom Pastry Cookie agrees to check on the situation, noticing that it was true after noticing an innocent cake hound coming to her, before shooting it, injuring the cake hound.
Whilst in the middle of entering the Cake Tower, Red Velvet Cookie, who is in the middle of creating new cake monsters by burning the Cake Tower, was alerted by Pomegranate Cookie that Pastry Cookie is coming to stop the mess that is going on in the tower. Red Velvet Cookie then discovers Pastry Cookie, who is in the middle of taking down several cake monsters, and confronts her, in which Pastry Cookie refuses to be confronted by him, before shooting an arrow to him and threatening to murder him, just because he was made out of cake, a type of "unclean" species. Before murdering Red Velvet Cookie, she noticed a cake hound coming to Red Velvet Cookie, where he tells the cake hound, named Chiffon, that he's alright, considering that he was hit by a bow.
Following this event, Pastry Cookie starts to feel sympathetic as he notices on how Red Velvet Cookie cares about his cake hounds, and Red Velvet Cookie notices Pastry Cookie slowly delaying his murder, and states that he was born in the tower itself. Later, Pomegranate Cookie joins in the stand-off between the two, where she pushes Pastry Cookie into the Ultimate Dough. Before falling, she was confronted by a reflection of herself, which stated that her soul was ridden with doubt.
Revelation[]
After falling into the ultimate dough, she then witnesses White Lily Cookie meeting the Witches during the Night of the Witches. There, Pastry Cookie is shocked alongside past White Lily Cookie to find out the truth of the Cookies' creation: to be eaten. She then continues to watch as White Lily Cookie desperately attempts to save the cookies being eaten, only to be pushed into the Ultimate Dough and re-baked by the Witches. White Lily Cookie emerges as Dark Enchantress Cookie, leaving Pastry Cookie with doubts about the St. Pastry Order's worshipping of the Witches.
After managing to escape the Ultimate Dough, she was once again confronted by Pomegranate Cookie. Despite her doubts from both the truth and the words of Pomegranate Cookie, Pastry Cookies remains steadfast in her beliefs, declaring that the Tower of Sweet Chaos was merely a place "where a Cookie who dared to deny the Godly met her terrible end". After hearing of their plans to rebuild the world and watching as Red Velvet Cookie unleashes his cake hound army, Pastry Cookie flees back to the St. Pastry Order.
Pastry Cookie meets back up with Reverend Mother Cookie, where she explains what she found during her mission, such as finding out that cake hounds aren't mindless beasts and, namely, the truth of the Witches. Pastry Cookie expresses her doubts in her belief from these events, even saying that she finds it hard to pray due to the memories. Reverend Mother Cookie soothes her worries, comforting her by explaining that the doubt is natural, and that it is simply important that she remains faithful despite it. Pastry Cookie accepts her words, remaining within the St. Pastry Order, but not after promising Reverent Mother Cookie to keep the truth a secret, "for the order of this world".
After Pastry Cookie leaves, a Cookie cloaked in black, Shadow Sister Cookie, offers to silence Pastry Cookie for good, but Reverent Mother Cookie denies it, explaining that Pastry Cookie is loyal and will one day join them as stalwart protectors of the truth.
Appearance[]
Pastry Cookie is a slim Cookie of average height with medium tone dough. Her eyes are light steel blue and are accompanied by long, thick upper lashes with lengthy lower lashes pointing outwards in opposite directions. Her mouth is most often curled downwards in a glaring frown.
Pastry Cookie has voluminous pale lilac bangs with a thin swirl of gold highlights. Her hair curls into crescents on the side of her head. The back portion of her hair is covered by a pastry-white nun's habit with pale gold tints, with a headpiece resembling a palmier. Around her neck and shoulders, the coif from her white guimpe has the golden fork symbol of the St. Pastry Order printed upon it. Under this, she wears navy colored dress-like banners with dim grayish-blue designs near the bottom that almost reach her knees, with the same navy color carried on the covers of her arms. Her legs are also covered in jet black.
Pastry Cookie wields a silver fork on her right wrist decorated with a dull indigo gemstone fashioned in a diamond shape. This weapon can extend into a broad crossbow. Notably, Pastry Cookie's fork is directly contrary to Red Velvet Cookie's knife.
Personality[]
Pastry Cookie is a pious, humble member of the St. Pastry Order, routinely praying every morning and diligently honing both her weapon and her mind. She zealously believes in the Order's teachings and devoutly follows its commands without question, taking it upon herself to "purge the unclean" and deliver final judgment to beings such as Cake Monsters. Pastry Cookie also has a habit of reciting the Order's readings from memory to reaffirm her beliefs when necessary.
Despite this, Pastry Cookie is not entirely devoid of her own thoughts and opinions. When confronting Red Velvet Cookie in the Tower of Sweet Chaos story, she declares to "purge [him] and [his] foul creations" in the name of the St. Pastry Order, only to hesitate before delivering the final blow. She is stopped by the sight of Red Velvet Cookie comforting a pet Cake Hound that appears distressed over his injuries and shows a trace of sympathy for them both. This doubt remains with Pastry Cookie as she returns to the St. Pastry Order, leaving her questioning both the divinity of the Witches and the impurity of the Cake Monsters.
Trivia[]
- Pastry Cookie's appearance and background has been changed drastically to avoid any references to religion in the releases of Cookie Run: Kingdom in the People's Republic of China.
