~ Lisbeth to Daniel before he breaks her neck |
Lisbeth Fischer is one of the three main antagonists (alongside Johnathan Merrill and Maria Flores) of the video game Life is Strange 2, serving as the the overarching antagonist of Episode 3: Wastelands and the main antagonist of Episode 4: Faith.
She is the lead pastor of Universal Uprising Church in Haven Point. In reality, she is a deranged and manipulative cult leader obsessed with the psychic power of Daniel Diaz, intending to use him for her own benefit and be able to do whatever she wants.
She is portrayed by Victoria Hansen
Personality []
On the outside, Lisbeth is shown to be a devout Christian and a kind, caring figure towards her followers. Inside however, she is extremely selfish, corrupt, greedy, and manipulative, touting religious propaganda and very controlled language while also using Daniel's power to attract people to the Church, which in turn, makes her a lot of money due to the donations. She is very stubborn, would never take no for an answer, refuses to recognize that her beliefs go too far, and is proven to be completely delusional about her extremist beliefs, thinking that they're for the greater good, but in reality, they ended up doing more harm than good, especially when she is willing to order Nicholas to kill Sean for the sake of her church. In addition, she is known for being hypocritical on multiple occasions, such as forbidding Sarah to got to a hospital with her intention to use faith healing on her, but is revealed in her personal bathroom that she keeps a large collection of pharmaceutical pill bottles.
Appearance []
Lisbeth is an older woman with dark brown, greying hair tied back in a braid. She wears an olive green shirt underneath a grey robe, grey pants, and brown heeled shoes, as well as a long, golden scarf around her neck.
Background[]
Past[]
Not much is known of Lisbeth's past but she reported had a powerful experience as a child that sent her on the path of faith. She had been a member of another church beforehand but was kicked out, likely due to her extremism, and founded her own community church in Haven Point, Nevada, drawing in a crowd due to her charismatic sermons.
At some point prior to the events of Life is Strange 2, one of the church's members, Jacob Hackerman, had left due to being pressured to go through conversion therapy to "cure" his homosexuality, as well as the fact that Lisbeth prevented his sister Sarah from getting medical care for her pneumonia, saying only the healing power of prayer could save her.
Episode 3: Wastelands[]
Lisbeth Fischer does not appear in Episode 3: Wastelands but is described by Jacob as "intense".
Episode 4: Faith[]
Jacob returns to Haven Point with Daniel, having learned of his powers and being convinced it was a sign from God that his powers could be used for good. Lisbeth witnesses his powers and realizes he can be used to bring in money for the church by putting him on full display as a sign from God.
By the time Sean arrives in Haven Point, he enters the church during one of Lisbeth's sermons and is shocked to see Daniel openly using his powers in front of the congregation. After the sermon, Sean briefly reunites with Daniel, but Lisbeth refuses to let Sean take Daniel as she has many big plans for him. Lisbeth then orders her most loyal follower, Nicholas Durand, to escort Sean out.
The following day, Lisbeth is confronted by Sean and Karen while she is preparing a ritual with Daniel. Sean and Karen try to persuade Daniel to come back, but Lisbeth orders Nicholas to beat up Sean to stop him from constantly interfering. She then orders Nicholas to shoot Sean, but this is what triggers Daniel to finally turn on Lisbeth and reunite with his mother and brother. As a fire suddenly breaks out, Lisbeth attempts to kill them for disrupting her operations and tries one last time to bring Daniel back to her side.
Depending on Sean's choices, she will either be killed by Daniel, killed by Sean, or just be forcefully moved out the way by Daniel allowing them to leave the burning church. If Lisbeth is still alive after they leave she will be last seen trying to get back inside the church, only for Nicholas to keep holding her back as it burns to the ground.
