Kagehito is a major character in the 2022 Netflix animated series Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles, serving as the main antagonist in Season 1, and a major character in Season 2.
He is a masked, spider-like Yokai who was trapped inside the Ki-Stone by the legendary ronin Miyamoto Usagi, who seeks to ensure the return of his masters, the "Old Ones". However, it is later revealed that he isn't a Yokai at all, but rather an alien known as an Unu, who was brainwashed by the Makkine into assisting them in their goals. After being freed from the Makkine's control, he would go on to become an ally of Yuichi Usagi and his friends in order to prevent the Makkine from invading and destroying their world.

Biography[]
Past[]
Prior to the events of the series, Kagehito lived on his planet with his people, the Unu, a race of creatures made from spiritual energy. One day, the Unu's planet was attacked by the Makkine, a robotic army seeking to conquer every world in the multiverse; Kagehito led the Unu's warriors against the Makkine, however, due to the Makkine's superior technology, they quickly conquered them in a matter of hours. Kagehito would be knocked unconscious during the battle, and was brought onto the Makkine's War Mountain, where the Makkine Supreme Commander forced him to witness what had become of the surviving Unu; trapped and frozen within a device known as the Quantum Bubble. The Makkine subsequently forced him to wear an Oni mask which brainwashed him, turning him into an emissary for the Makkine.
Now concerned only with serving the Makkine's will, Kagehito would be assigned to prepare other worlds for their arrival, with his ship arriving on a planet populated by anthropomorphic animals. As he began working to prepare the planet for the Makkine, Kagehito discovered that the planet was home to the Ki-Stone, an immensely powerful mystical relic which even the Makkine feared. Kagehito would subsequently possess the body of the Shogun in order to take control of the Ki-Stone for the Makkine. However, somehow aware of the Shogun's possession, the ronin Miyamoto Usagi assassinated him and imprisoned Kagehito within the Ki-Stone.
In the aftermath of this, all Yokai would become trapped within the Ki-Stone as an unintended consequence of Kagehito's impronment, while Usagi gained a piece of the Ki-Stone which would be passed down to his descendants. Despite stopping Kagehito, due to his assassination of the Shogun, Usagi would be forever branded as a traitor and Japan's greatest villain.
