Jet is a minor antagonist in the 2024 Netflix adventure fantasy series Avatar: The Last Airbender, based on the animated series of the same name. He served as the main antagonist in "Omashu" and a minor character in "Into the Dark".

Following the loss of his parents, Jet grew himself of resenting the Fire Nation and formed the group of revolutionaries consisted of teenagers and children who fight against the Fire Nation, called the Freedom Fighters. When they're at Omashu Kingdom, Jet is planning to kill King Bumi, whom he calls a "diseased heart" of the city, by planting a bomb on Sai's suitcase to have him blown up alongside the King, but it was later foiled by Katara who managed to used her waterbending to stop the explosion. Finally, he was left to be trapped in Sai's house after Katara froze him.

He is portrayed by Sebastian Amoruso.

Biography[]

Background[]

My mother was the fighter in our family. She taught me the blade, which, back then, was just a stick. When the Fire Nation came to our village, she held them off while my dad hid me in a well. I wanted to fight, but... he wouldn't let me. I was eight. And when I came back up... they were all gone.
~ Jet explained his backstory to Katara.

Jet is a son of a female fighter who taught him how to fight with a blade, but he only used a stick back then. When he was eight, the Fire Nation came to attack his village. While his mother held them off, his father hide him in a well and couldn't drag him into a fight when he wanted to. But when he got back up, he discover that his parents were killed during the attack. Of course, the incident caused him to grew resentful towards the Fire Nation and formed the group of young children and teenagers who fought against them called the Freedom Fighters.

Season 1[]

Omashu[]

When the Team Avatar got to the Omashu, they met a turnip farmer who helps them get pass through the gates by disguising themselves as his relatives. Later, the turnip farmer meets Katara again when she spying on Sai and the Fire Nation spy and reveals what they're doing. After revealing his disguise, he introduced himself as Jet. When they got to the woods, Katara and Jet were encountered by the Fire Nation spy and his men and they fought against them until Jet's friends arrived for a help. He also orders them to dispose the Fire Nation spies as well. He then brought Katara to the Freedom Fighters' hideout where they tell their respective backstories together. He helps Katara how to control her waterbending by thinking about her mother in a better way, which helps her do the Water Whip correctly. He's planning to kill the King of Omashu, Bumi, by swapping Sai's suitcase with their's to blow it up. When Katara meets up with him, she was horrified to realize he's indeed the one who's behind the bombings and called him a "bad guy". As Katara left in disgust, Jet mocks her by telling her it's too late. Despite this, his plan was foiled thanks to Katara's interventions by using the Water Whip to stop the explosion.

Into the Dark[]

Later that night, Jet breaks into Sai's house where he encountered Katara again and called her out for "betraying" him. But Katara called him out for almost getting the innocent people killed and tried to reasoned with him, but only for Jet to refused. Feeling heartbroken and betrayed, she knocks him out by freezing him, leaving him trapped inside Sai's house.
