Teun Vogelaar, also known by Faux, is the main antagonist and final boss of the 2023 indie video game Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. He was one of the Big 3, the top writers in New Amsterdam, before he was decapitated by fellow Big 3 member DJ Cyber after he killed the other Big 3 member Felix out of jealousy due to Felix becoming All City and knowing his "perfect record" was him getting his corrupt cop father to frame other writers for his crimes.
After he was beheaded, the New Amsterdam police found Faux's head and connected it to a program known as "Project Algo" in attempt to cleanse the city of vandals. This led to Faux taking over the police and mind controlling the officers in an attempt to annihilate every writer in New Amsterdam so he alone can rule the streets.
Biography[]
Before the events of the game, Faux, alongside Felix and DJ Cyber, was among the three best writers in New Amsterdam, known as the Big 3. Out of the three, Felix came out on top as he successfully conquered all five boroughs in New Amsterdam and went All City without a Boostpack like every other writer, making himself a legend. Meanwhile, Faux abused his father's position of a cop by framing innocent writers for his vandalism, which Felix eventually found out. One night, he and Felix met again, with Felix doing graffiti while on top of a ladder that Faux is holding steady. A mix between Felix knowing his corrupt dealings with the police and bitter jealousy over him becoming All City, Faux murders Felix by kicking off the ladder, which leads Felix to fall to his doom and land in a giant fan, getting decapitated as a result.
Not long after, Faux gets sent to jail, where he is freed by a man named Tryce. The two decide to escape the prison, but they are found out by DJ Cyber right afterwards, who decapitates Faux using one of his discs in revenge for his murder of Felix. Tryce then takes Faux's body to the Flesh Prince, the leader of the Franks, who attaches it to a cyber-head, with the result being named Red by Tryce's friend Bel. Faux's real head gets into the hands of the New Amsterdam police, who use it in their experiment to cleanse the city of crime, called Project Algo. This backfires on them as Faux manages to control the minds of the police force, seeking to eliminate all other writers in the city so he can become "All City King". He starts off having DOT.EXE's leader 8-Ball killed for informing the Bomb Rush Crew about the project, brainwashes Escher for voicing his skepticism over the Bomb Rush Crew being really a threat, and then killing Chief Inspector Berlage when word gets out about Project Algo, forcing his subordinate Irene Rietveld to comply at gunpoint from her fellow brainwashed officers.
After the Bomb Rush Crew has conquered all five boroughs in the city by defeating DJ Cyber's crew Futurism, and Red learns his true identity as Felix; Faux shows up with his head connected to a giant mech while trying to kill one of the BRC's rival crews, Devil Theory, who had apparently made a deal with him beforehand. BRC member Solace comes in to protect Devil Theory and, despite being told not to by Tryce, he reveals that Red is a resurrected Felix and that he knows he tried to kill him. Faux enters a fight with the BRC, of which he seemingly is defeated before he returns with his mech in a leviathan-like state. He then grabs Red and brutally rips his head off, throwing off his old body and kidnapping Solace so he can use his younger body as his own. With all hope seemingly lost for the BRC, police officer Irene Rietveld shows up and helps out the BRC in defeating Faux by giving Felix his original body, since Faux has utterly corrupted the police force. The BRC head out and eventually catch up with Faux in his leviathan mech, and after a boss fight, manage to defeat him again. Felix dismisses Faux's excuses and calls him out as the murderous coward that he is before headbutting Faux to his doom with help from Tryce, Bel, DJ Cyber and Vinyl, all while shattering the Red cybernetic shell around his head.
