- "Sifo, do you remember the cleansing ritual I taught you?"
"No."
"On Rishi. After we uncovered the Hand of Skrye." - ―Lene Kostana and Sifo-Dyas
Rishi was a planet located in the Abrion sector's[3] Rishi system of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] Orbited by the Rishi Moon,[3] Rishi sat at S-15 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[4] It contained deposits of exonium and was home to the Rishii species.[5]
During the Republic Era, Jedi Master Lene Kostana and her Padawan, Sifo-Dyas, discovered the Hand of Skrye on Rishi, and while on the planet, Kostana taught her apprentice a cleansing ritual.[6] Later, during the time of the Clone Wars, the Rishi Moon housed a Galactic Republic listening post known as the Rishi Station, which was invaded by the Confederacy of Independent Systems led by Kaleesh General Grievous[1] in 22 BBY.[7] In order to get backup to assist them, the Republic clone troopers destroyed the listening post.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Rishi first appeared in the new Star Wars canon in "Rookies,"[1] the fifth episode of the first season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired on October 24, 2008.[8] Rishi originally appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity in Dark Force Rising, a 1992 novel authored by Timothy Zahn as the second volume of Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy.[9]
