- "We set the droids to digging as soon as Poppy found the right sinkhole on the correct island on Moldour 14."
- ―Gunda Mabin, Smuggler's Guide
Moldour 14 was a moon that orbited the Outer Rim Territories celestial body Moldour. Its surface featured several islands, on one of which the Pirate Queen Maz Kanata buried a treasure vault. At some point between 19 BBY and 10 BBY, the pirate captain Gunda Mabin learned of the vault's location from Kanata's logbook known as the Smuggler's Guide , and she and the crew of her starship, the Bloody Bones, traveled there. After identifying the sinkhole housing the treasure vault, the pirates had droids dig up the entrance to the structure. The pirates then dealt with the vault's traps and looted its treasure, with Mabin also mentioning the visit to Moldour 14 in an entry she made in the Smuggler's Guide.

- "The rays of sunup revealed the glint of metal at the bottom of the sandy pit."
- ―Gunda Mabin, Smuggler's Guide
Moldour 14 was one of the moons orbiting the celestial body Moldour[3] in the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] From space, the terrestrial moon had a mostly blue-colored surface featuring an assortment of islands. At least one of those islands had several sinkholes on it, including one in a sandy area.[3]
History[]

At one point, the Pirate Queen Maz Kanata buried a treasure vault that contained valuables such as prismatic crystals, corusca gems, meleenium[3] ore,[4] and hyperbaride[3] minerals,[5] at the bottom of a sinkhole on one of Moldour 14's islands. She subsequently included directions to the vault in the logbook that would come to be known as the Smuggler's Guide.[3] Sometime between 19 BBY and 10 BBY,[6] the Aqualish captain Gunda Mabin of the Blazing Claw pirate fleet acquired the book and ordered for her starship, the Bloody Bones, to travel to Moldour 14 in order to retrieve the treasure. Mabin's navigator Puckwale eventually reported that the moon would be reached in the following morning, and the pirate crew indeed arrived there within two sidereal cycles.[3]
On Moldour 14, the pirate Poppy identified the island and sinkhole housing Kanata's treasure vault, after which Mabin, personally arriving at the site, instructed her ship's droid complement to dig up the structure's entrance. Thereafter Mabin's crewmember Fur-Bite unsealed the vault, perishing due to a saberdart-shooting trap. After the vault's other traps failed to trigger, however, Mabin's crew proceeded to loot it, storing the treasure aboard the Bloody Bones and departing Moldour. Mabin eventually mentioned the visit to Moldour 14 in an entry she herself added to the Smuggler's Guide, wherein she also included an image of the moon.[3] At some point between 0 ABY and 5 ABY,[7] the Smuggler's Guide fell into the possession of the Whisper Network information broker Prima Wessex, who noted in a new entry that the organization should send trained investigators to ascertain the status of some of the high-value treasure vaults such as the one on Moldour 14.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Moldour 14 was mentioned in Daniel Wallace's 2018 reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide. In the book, the moon was depicted in an illustration by Adrián Rodriguez.[3]
